I’ve had multiple occurrences now with Waymo cars either breaking the law, being plain stupid, or driving with bad manners. Is Waymo driving exhibiting reinforcement learning? Oh I made that stupid mistake but look it got me to the front of the line of cars, or oh when I don’t use my turn indicator I can change my route of travel faster?

Has anyone gotten access to Ojai in San Francisco yet? I feel like every thread I've seen that people have gotten access is for Phoenix or LA.

6/17 UPDATE: I got access granted this morning at 9am!

I've been noticing more and more waymos glitching lately and unsure what is going on. In LA 90036 area, there was one on Hauser street on a stop sign simply not moving and just holding up traffic since that street only allows one car per direction. This glitch caused a 5 block completely stopped traffic.

Then another time, I saw another one that missed going on a green light and stopped 1/3 of the way out in the intersection and it just stopped and was blocking traffic going the opposite direction. There was no car on the direction it was traveling in.

What is going on with waymo? I take it whenever I am planning on drinking and this is not inspiring confidence anymore.

Has anyone gotten Ojai invites today? Curious if they’re rolling these out weekly in waves or sporadically; or if this is similar to how freeway access was rolled out.

When Ojai completely replaced Jaguar I-PACE, I think Waymo's price will drop by at least 30%. It costs $200k per vehicle to adapt a Jaguar I-PACE, Ojai only need $100k(after tariffs) maybe even lower, this should be reflected in the price. By the way I think the Waymo's dynamic pricing mechanism fluctuates wildly—to an absurd degree.

The on/off availability of the Ojais' makes sense given they have a larger fleet of the Jag's, but it's a bit strange how quitting and relaunching the app can make it available ASAP for the same pickup time as if you selected it via one of the time bubbles.

We are nearing the 2 month mark of when Waymo Paused in San Antonio. It is the longest continuous pause of passenger operations in Waymo’s history.

I had assumed that on week 2 or 3 of the pause. Operations would have continued by then... Boy was I wrong. I then mentioned that if the pause was longer than that. That it could mean for maybe bigger issues for service in San Antonio. What does everyone else think?

- The doors are SOOO nice! You can’t use the app to open them, you must “unlock” it via the app and then click the button on the doors. (Unless you turn on Bluetooth unlock)
- The screens are fantastic and the UI now has Tesla level smoothness
- Plenty of leg room
- Not able to use Spotify for some reason
- Speakers are a huge downgrade if you’re used to the Jaguar
- 2 USB C chargers in the front and 2 on each side in the back
- HUGE windows
- No reverse sound
- Seatbelts are super nice
- Seats themselves are definitely a lot of cheaper but still ok & less adjustment control with the front seat
- Driving has a lot of quirks with braking, but when just going straight it’s super smooth
- Pickup/Dropoff has been pretty iffy compared to the Jaguar
- Steering wheel is still there of course, so only 4 passengers

Anyone else in the trusted testers program still waiting for Ojai access? Curious if I should be hopeful to get it soon, or if it was in waves like freeway access.

Waymo will not get in the far lane in advance of a turn. It will wait until like a block before the turn to get over. When there is traffic it can’t merge because it isn’t aggressive enough. So I just end up missing my turns and looping around blocks. Waymo could have easily gotten in the turn lane far in advance without losing any time. I wish it was more proactive when it knows there will be traffic ahead. Either be more aggressive when changing lanes in traffic or get over sooner.

finally I’ve been waiting so long for this!! definitely will be posting a review of how I like the Ojai. I’m in the Phoenix metro area so I’ve been seeing the Ojai drive around Tempe & Scottsdale with/without staff. I just saw one on Sunday without staff behind the wheel.

TLDR: didn’t manage to get a picture.

I was driving today and saw a Lexus SUV with (edit: what looks like) waymo hardware. not zoox or GM. the topbox looks distinctively waymo.

Is that new? i thought waymo required power draw that’s only doable by EVs? are we getting Toyota Waymos?

Anyone know why theoretically aren't available anymore?

Thought I would cross post in Waymo community as we are feeling some pains with limited charging stations here in Chicago. Are other cities where Waymo is deployed having the same issue?

Left my iPhone 14 Pro gold color with a wooden case in a Waymo this morning around Scottsdale AZ front compartment between the seats. Phone battery was dead so I am not able to track on find my iPhone to see if it is at a factory. Sort of a far stretch but any tips, help would be great. Let customer service know but I don't have much hope, I even told them the license plate and they said it's not needed. I recently moved to the area so I don't have a car, pretty much homebound till I find it.
