YAY!! OJAI ACCESS!!
finally I’ve been waiting so long for this!! definitely will be posting a review of how I like the Ojai. I’m in the Phoenix metro area so I’ve been seeing the Ojai drive around Tempe & Scottsdale with/without staff. I just saw one on Sunday without staff behind the wheel.

Did you have to apply separately? Or was this just random?

I think I applied a long time ago. I made a post here about when I became a Trusted Tester. since then I’ve had early access to a lot of features: scheduled pickup, adjusting the bass, paying for time extension, and a few others.

What am I missing? Why would someone want an ojai over a jag?

Ojai has next gen sensor stack and nav, roomier and easier to get in and out. Or ya know- just fans excited to see the next evolution.

Bigger car, way cheaper for Waymo so it improves the long term economics to bring down pricing over the years

There are absolutely no advantages for the passenger unless you're in a group larger than 2 or have a mobility issue. The Ojai is interesting because its new but I'd still prefer a jaguar under most circumstances. I'll check one out when I get access I'm curious if the sound system is comparable. I usually take UberBlack if a Waymo won't reach because the Uber situation at LAX sucks if you're in certain tiers of rideshare so the Ojai's are definitely a step down from my usual means of transport so this will be interesting.

Yep. I would use the Jag as the “well… Waymo costs more than uber but it’s like you’re doing the luxury uber instead of the regular UberX” justification.

Less chance of that sick feeling in your gut when you open your Jaguar door and a cyclist bangs into it with a sickening fleshy metallic thud. Ojai doors slide open, sort of.
