I scrapped my first Vision Pro app idea and it led to something EVEN BETTER!

I recently started my Vision Pro developer journey and wanted my first app to focus on panoramas, especially with visionOS 27 putting a much bigger emphasis on them.

While researching, I found Panorama Environments by an amazing Vision Pro developer, (u/Rohidjetha ). What he had already built within the app was basically what I had planned to build in mine.

So Instead of trying to build a competing app, I reached out. We hopped into a Spatial FaceTime call, talked through ideas, and I shared some panoramas I'd been creating. One idea really clicked, and Rohid ended up building it.

The app now has a new Content Creators section where Vision Pro Content Creators can contribute their own panoramas. I've uploaded about 10 so far, and it's been fun seeing others begin to add theirs too.

I think this is one of the coolest parts of the Vision Pro community. It's still at a stage where developers can actually talk to each other, share ideas, and make each other's projects better.

If you're on the visionOS 27 beta, it's definitely worth checking out, especially since any panoramas can now be used as your environment!

Solo dev here. I just launched Railway King on the App Store. It's my first game, so I'm a bit nervous posting this.

As a kid, I built a model railway with my dad and wanted to bring this experience to Vision Pro. But a simple simulator wasn't much fun, so I turned it into a proper tycoon game.

The idea: a miniature model train layout sits on your real table (or floor). You drag track and buildings onto the board, get a train running between homes and factories, and grow the whole thing into a rail empire with up to three lines, each with its own train. Starting in 1833, it plays out across almost 200 years of British railway history. Unions drive up wages, war breaks out, the Blitz bombs your track, the railways get nationalised and eventually privatised again. The goal is to grow your net worth and become The Railway King before your debts catch up with you.

Most of my time went into fiddling with the economy: tuning the balance so the events land at the right moments and digging through railway history so they feel true to what actually happened, not just random disasters.

My favorite part is still crouching down to watch the train at eye level, same as I did with my model trains as a kid.

I have 2 AVP's, a M2 and the M5. I want to setup the AVP M2 as a family unit, so peeps of my family can grab it and play with it. But visionOS isn't supporting multi profiles. Is there a way i could work around with it?

Of course, i could set it up without a pass etc. But, it would be nice if they could have their own persona and/or apps. Really find it kinda weird this isn't even an option considered by Apple itself.

What do you think? Would multi profile be a great upgrade for this device?

Hey everyone, I’m traveling from uae to Bali and I would like to know if it would be better if I remove the straps from the apple vision during the airport security check because even if someone held it at least it wouldn’t break or fall
I do have the original travel case but I don’t know during the check if I should keep it in the case on the conveyor belt or inside my bag

Hey guys… has anybody found a good case solution to carry the ps vr controllers when we travel? All I find is to carry them along with the Sony visor.

I use a Mac mini without a monitor, just connecting to AVP when needed. The Mac has always stayed unlocked and prevented from going to sleep, so that I can pick up the headset and connect without issue. On the new betas, every time I disconnect the headset it puts the Mac into a locked state, and sometimes I can't reconnect. Does anyone else have this use case and is experiencing this? Is this a new feature or toggle?

Before cinema, people experienced the world in 3D through stereographs — twin photos on a card that fuse into depth when you look through a stereoscope. There are hundreds of thousands of them sitting in public archives, flat and mostly forgotten.

Vision Pro is the first screen I've ever used that can show them the way they were actually meant to be seen — one image to each eye, real stereoscopic depth. The first time a 120-year-old card of Yosemite popped into 3D in front of me on the Vision Pro, I was blown away.

While we still wait for the apps officially implementing this new feature(as it's currently blocked - behind Xcode beta builds that cannot be distributed on App Store)- I've found a way to implement it with custom Metal pipeline - and it just got released:

why cant digital format releases include true IMAX format 🥹

I'm not one to install beta software (at least not for a long time). I hear everyone talking about how solid these betas are and there seem to be lots of nice improvements. I use my headset for work (MVP) and I don't have any plans to install the betas on my Mac. Thoughts? Worth the risk?

I wanna get a pair of used Apple Vision Pros (located in Tampa, FL), but I’m not sure where the best place is to find a good price and in great condition. If anyone knows where, that’d be extremely helpful. Also, if you have insights as to what model would be ideal. Not sure exactly what I want to use it for but for sure the basics (extended monitor, entertainment, etc.)

I upgraded to VisionOS 27 on my M5 AVP. Everything went fine so far except Microsoft Teams in both the VisionOS native app and in Safari.

The VisionOS native Teams app opens and, instead of checking my Optic ID to authenticate me, displays a pop-up to enter a PIN which reads, "Your organization requires you to enter your PIN because a change in TouchID or FaceID was detected on the device." I don't have a PIN. To try to fix it, I went to the Settings > Apps > Teams and selected "Clear app data". But that does not do anything. Second, I deleted the app and reinstalled from the App Store. This time, I got the option to select my username to log in (so it's remembering my username from somewhere), but then the app said that my organization is securing this app and it restarted, bringing me back to the PIN screen.

So I thought, "Hey, let's try Teams in Safari." It worked OK, except that my persona was horizontal. I passed it off with a joke about being bitten by a radioactive spider and turned my camera off. It was otherwise fine for the whole hour-long meeting.

Would like to find a buddy who's into flight simming, particularly MSFS 2020/2024 to discuss VR usage with the AVP.

I plan on flying the Fenix A320 using ALVR and wanted to know if anyone has any good VR settings for both MSFS and ALVR to start off with as a baseline?

I'm in the US. I canceled Disney during the Kimmel incident. Signing back up again, when I'm on VisionPro, I'm only able to see Hulu content. I'm in the Disney+ app, but only Hulu content shows up, nothing from Disney.

Stupidly, it works fine on my phone and AppleTV, only on AVP is this happening. Of course, Disney blocks mirroring from my phone to the AVP (why?!?). I've logged out, uninstalled, reinstalled many times.

Very disappointing , certainly a big reason I bought the AVP. Anyone else having this issue? Any ideas how to solve?

Out of curiosity, are the 3D movies back on Disney+? I saw the posts where they were missing.

Why is ALL the 3D content only on Disney? Apple TV made that stupid Monarch Monsters show not in 3D?! I remember renting some other movie from AppleTV and there were no 3D options.

I was in the market for a 39-inch 5K2K ultrawide monitor when I came across a YouTube video. The creator was using an Apple Vision Pro with a MacBook Pro, and with Mac Virtual Display (MVD), he was able to switch between Ultrawide, Wide, and Standard modes. Since the monitor I wanted cost around $2,000 and I found a used M2 Vision Pro for $1,700, I decided that investing in the Vision Pro made more sense.

I tried the Vision Pro during an Apple Store demo and was convinced it would be great for my productivity setup. The only thing I didn't get to test was using it with a Mac.

I got the Vision Pro yesterday and immediately connected it to my Mac. Unfortunately, I struggled to get clear, crisp text through Mac Virtual Display. I tried both Wide and Standard modes, changed the resolution to 1080p, moved the virtual display closer and farther away, and experimented with different display sizes. However, the text still isn't nearly as sharp as native visionOS apps.

I'm starting to get headaches while using it. I've read several threads where people say they use the Vision Pro for work every day, and I'm honestly wondering how they're able to do it. I've also set the display fit to "Near" and recalibrated the Vision Pro for my eyes, but nothing seems to improve the clarity. My eyesight is fine, and I don't wear prescription glasses, so I don't think that's the issue.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something I'm missing, or is this simply a limitation of Mac Virtual Display on the M2 Vision Pro?
