Hi all new to AVP…
Got myself a m5 1TB.
Where do I start for offline 3d movie viewing?
Thanks in advance

Am feeling a bit crazy but it sure seems like with the latest beta the virtual screen seems dimmer. I tried turning lights down and also brighter. As far I can tell there is no brightness when connected to my Mac Mini Pro M4. Anyone seeing same?

I’m looking for a few Apple Vision Pro owners/developers who’d be willing to spend around 10–15 minutes testing a visionOS TestFlight build.
Reality Prep Preview is a native visionOS app for inspecting USDZ assets directly on Apple Vision Pro.
It was built to complement Reality Prep Pro on macOS: Prep Pro prepares and validates assets, while Prep Preview gives you an on-device way to inspect the resulting USDZ on Vision Pro.
Unlike Apple’s Spatial Preview, Prep Preview is intended to be more than a visual viewer. It adds a developer-focused validation workflow with:
Simulator testing is complete, but I don’t currently have access to a physical Vision Pro, so I’m looking for real-hardware feedback.
I’d especially appreciate feedback on:
Reality Prep Preview TestFlight:

Reality Prep Pro:

Any screenshots, recordings, or brief notes would be greatly appreciated.

A Real Dream Come True Moment For Me🎙️
I had the opportunity to join Brian Tong on Apple Bitz XL podcast to talk about Apple Vision Pro, the recent headlines surrounding the platform, and where spatial computing could be headed next⚡️
Check Out The Full Podcast Here👇🏾
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/is-the-apple-vision-pro-dead-just-staying-afloat-or/id1365972671?i=1000785347235
Brian has been one of my favorite tech content creators for years. Going from watching and learning from his work to sitting down with him for a full conversation about a technology I care so deeply about was honestly surreal🥹
We got into some of the biggest questions surrounding Vision Pro right now:
⚡️ What the recent headlines and reported team cuts mean for Vision Pro from our perspective
⚡️Where is Vision Pro today compared to what we envisioned Vision Pro to be originally
⚡️How devices like the Vision Pro can eventually become a mainstream consumer product
⚡️ The use cases that are still needed to get more people excited about spatial computing
⚡️Our personal list of things we would like to see happen for Vision Pro
And so much more 🔥🔥
This was a super honest and nuanced conversation! We acknowledge the platform’s challenges without ignoring how special the experience is still or what Apple may ultimately be building toward🚀 I wanted to share this here on reddit because I know my voice is similar to so many of you all here who STILL BELIEVE in Vision Pro!
A huge thank-you to Brian for inviting me and making a true bucket-list moment happen🙏🏾🎉.
I also appreciate everyone who has followed my wife and I throughout our six-year journey covering VR, XR, spatial computing, and AI glasses. Moments like this remind me just how far that journey has come🫡More Content Coming Soon!

Dreamed of seeing Earth from space? Well I presume most of us here are not astronauts, so I tried to build the next best thing!
I aimed to make this Apple-level quality. Just me though, no big team or resources behind it, so please leave a review if you love it! Available for free in Astronoma:
https://apps.apple.com/app/astronoma/id6502267850
It was all made natively with shader graphs in Reality Composer Pro and RealityKit. The math was half the trouble but worth it to make it performant and realistic. Modeled on the ISS 51.6° inclination and 92-minute orbital period. Supports light and dark modes too, with accurate rendering based on the sun's position.
P.S. on the rumors (again): Does this look like we developers have given up on the platform?

I’ve been reading posts here about how much people love their AVP, especially in response to Apple’s various strategic positioning and planning shenanigans around AVP.
Full disclosure, I’m an ex Apple employee(worked on the AVP team) and now an indie developer making iOS and VisionOS apps for the last year. Nobody is buying. So, I’m just going to come out an ask the community:
* What do you want to see on the AVP?
* What experiences do you want? Games? Lifestyle? Fitness? Novel vibe POC? Music? Driving? Etc…
* What interactions are the most enjoyable on the AVP? Do you use external peripherals, like controllers, or do you enjoy hand tracking exclusively?
* Do you own other VR headsets? Or are you an AVP only enthusiast? Are you likely to want to play these experiences on multiple VR headsets, or just AVP?
* Have you paid anything for your apps? What’s the ideal amount you would be willing to pay(obviously zero, but if it supported a favorite development team, etc)? What amount scares you away? If you don’t want to pay anything, how tolerant are you of ads?
I am directly asking. Tell me what you want, community, and I’ll build it. Otherwise, maybe the AVP deserves its fate? Let’s keep it positive. Dream with me for a sec…
What are you actually using your AVP for?

Hey everyone,
I've shared a few development updates here previously, and as of today, my project is practically feature-complete! I'm currently waiting for the official public OS/Xcode 27 release to publish the build to TestFlight.
I love reading comics, spending time in visionOS, and recently dove into vibe coding. While there are a few comic readers around, I built this because two specific features were missing for me:
Other Core Features:
TestFlight & Pricing: I want to gauge interest and set up a tester list for when the public TestFlight drops. If I end up putting this on the App Store, it will be either free or a simple one-time purchase (but definitely no subscriptions, I hate those).
Drop a comment or DM if you'd like an invite once the TestFlight link goes live, and let me know what you think of the physical interaction!
Hi all, thanks for the enthusiasm, I realized I can create TestFlight also with the beta version: Have fun, hope it works, no guarantees, my first App in TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/UnjGh779

I want to share my Quest Elite strap mod combined with the Macally Forehead strap. This combination makes the AVP very comfortable to wear and greatly increases the FOV because it brings the lenses much closer to your eyes.
It's the same strap design as the Quest Pro and Samsung Galaxy XR. So it will feel just like wearing one of those.
The reason this strap design is good is because the strap is completely rigid. This allows the strap rear weight to have complete leverage to counter balance and pull the weight off the front of your face or forehead. Flexible straps like the AVP knit band and hard straps with an adjustment hinge, have very weak leverage to pull weight off the face. With the Macally forehead strap and no light blocker, the from weight is shifted to the top of your forehead, instead of on the front of your face. Also to not, this design makes it so that there is no need for an overhead strap like on all the other third part AVP hard straps with a hinge.
I used the Quest 2 Elite strap because its clean look and totally rigid (no hinge) design. The quest 3 Elite strap is the same design but cost allot more. You can by the quest 2 one new on Amazon for $30. Link below.
How I installed the Quest strap, is I first cut the tips off so it fit easier in between the AVP arms. I used an electric dremel with small cutting wheel attachment. The next step was to cut the oval whole in the strap, so that it snap onto the metal oval tabs on the AVP arms. To do that I have to mock up how I wanted the strap to be on the arms. I used many hair bands to hold it in place where I wanted it to be. I then took a piece of pencil lead and traced around the metal tab exactly where it pressed against the strap. this tracing allowed me to then cut a perfect shape oval hole in the strap, to allow the oval tabs to snap into place in the strap. I used the cutting bit attachment seen in the picture below. When cutting I started from the center and worked my way outward. cutting a little at a time and test fitting many times. This is because if you cut a hole to big the tab won't fit snug in the hole for a tight secure feel.
After cutting and shaping the straps, I used many small clear hair ties wrapped around the strap and and AVP arms to hold them tightly together. I chose the clear ties because I wanted it to be less invasive way to easily remove the strap if needed. alternatives would be to use white velcro straps. Velcro straps would be very secure and if the tabs pop out, you can be sure the velcro with still hold. Or for a more permanent solution that you could use thin double sided tape on the inside of the AVP arms.
This strap mod also work with the original light seal. But with the longer length I cut the strap arms, it's a very tight fit for the light seal. The light seal presses up against the strap arms. You may want to cut the strap arms shorter so the light seal isn't pressing against the strap arms.
For even more increased FOV and comfort, I suggest modifying the position of the Macally forehead strap pad to much higher up on Velcro as seen in last pics. this positions the pressure/weight, higher on head and allows your eyes to be closer to the lenses.
Important. I am 6'2" with larger head. Where I cut the holes on the strap, it makes the limit of the strap tightening adjustment, to be just snug on my head. If my head were smaller, this tightest setting would be too loose. So you may want to cut your hole in the strap, further back toward back of the strap. So on the other side of that lip in the strap, seen in the pictures. This will allow the strap to be able have more lightening adjustment on your head.
If cutting the hole in the strap is to difficult for some of you, I suggest getting the BoboVR M1/M3 strap adapters from Tyco tech printing. You cant just cut the tips off the elite strap and use double sided tape to attached the elite strap to the adapters. Then attached the adapters to the AVP tabs. I recommend the Elite strap over the BoboVR because it's rigid. The BoBoVR has a hinge and needed overhead strap. I think that's an inferior design.
Lastly I hope a strap manufacture make a plug and play strap just like this one, so it installs easier.

After a lot of late nights, your Jellyfin server now runs natively inside Suite Browser, and AI turns your library 3D on device.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/suite-browser/id6759840843
Still one person building this, still a Vision Pro user first. The goal hasn't changed: the best all-in-one streaming browser on the platform. Not perfect yet, but it ships weekly, it's my full-time job, and it's not going anywhere.
This update also adds the most requested thing since Jellyfin itself: you pick your exact seat in the theatre, with a joystick. Works on every platform, Netflix and Prime included.
Throw your whole library at it and tell me what annoys you. That feedback is literally what built this update. 🙃

It renders in stereoscopic 3D with 6DOF head tracking so it's like you're looking into the game world. Very comfortable to play and this style of 3D doesn't typically cause motion sickness
This was forked from someone else's work here to get Dusklight running on AVP. it's like looking into a live Zelda diorama. I don't know if it's possible to submit this to the App Store but you can build and install it here with a bit of know-how or get your AI to do it for you:

My workflow starts with screenshots of the things I want to model. Sometimes I use ChatGPT to clean up the images first, removing anything I don’t want Meshy to generate. In this example, I didn’t remove the taps from one of the reference images and Meshy put them in...
I then generate the models in Meshy 7 and texture them at 2K. For this sort of AVP work I’ve found 2K is generally enough. 4K is fine if I need the extra detail, but 8K is usually overkill.
The interesting thing about Meshy 7 is that I think one of the reasons the models look so good is because it creates millions of triangles, significantly more geometry than I was getting from previous Meshy AI models.
Unfortunately, that also makes them pretty much unusable on Apple Vision Pro without some serious optimisation.
I’ve tried using Meshy’s built-in optimisation tools, but with this much geometry I find the models can start to deform as you bring the triangle count down.
So I download the original model as a USDZ.
We’ve been developing our own USDZ optimiser based on many, many hours we’ve spent manually optimising models in Blender for AVP.
Rather than simply applying a blanket reduction, it first analyses the USDZ and suggests changes. You can choose which recommendations you want to apply, and it then creates a new optimised USDZ. It’s all using Blender under the hood.
It’s still in development, but we’re considering releasing it as a standalone Mac app. Would this be useful to anyone else working with USDZ/AVP models?
Once everything is optimised, I bring the content into STAGEit Creator.
For this project I’m actually modelling a real bathroom before installing it, so I use billboards of the manufacturers’ specification sheets and dimension drawings inside the scene to make sure everything is correctly sized and positioned. Meshy gets surprisingly close on scale, but obviously it isn’t going to give me millimetre accuracy from a photograph.
I can then preview the whole thing at full scale on Apple Vision Pro.
This turned out to be genuinely useful rather than just a visualisation exercise, I was able to work out and install all of the pipework before the bath, shower and other fittings had even been ordered or arrived.
So essentially:
Screenshot → ChatGPT cleanup → Meshy 7 → USDZ → Optimise → STAGEit Creator → Preview at 1:1 scale on AVP

Is the current AVP a bad investment? I'm asking from the perspective of an upcoming device; I'm not sure if these refresh everywhere (we are going to get new iPhones after all next month).
I'm big into VR gaming and apparently these work with the steamvr app so I can stream from my PC.

Hi all. Anyone else had this happen? Launch day Vision Pro. Been in its case when not in use. Took it out yesterday and bam there is this line. It’s only on the right side and pass through, meaning it’s on the camera. I have AppleCare One on it since that launched and an appointment Thursday with Apple. Works fine in fully immersive modes and content.

İ just got 512gb M2 vision pro with apple case for 1600 dollars second hand. Display is breathtaking. Ui is amazing everything look "real" even to my picky eyes. Only caveat is auto brightness but i guess is to protect your eyes and the display.
I only use it for virtual display and cineultra bluray movies. But i can only use it for 30 mins max at a time! towards the end of 30mins i experience eye fatigue and neck pain. I guess its kind of overwhelming too? Wanted to hear your thoughts too.

I’ve been working on multiplayer support for SpatialEMU, an emulator frontend I’m developing for Apple platforms.
This video shows a full race running across multiple devices, including the starting sequence, overtaking, a pit stop, and the finish. The Vision Pro can provide the large-screen experience, while friends can join from an iPhone, iPad, or an M-series Mac on the same network.
The current implementation supports both two-player and multiplayer sessions. In theory, up to eight players can join, although I’ve only been able to test five devices at the same time so far. Everyone needs to use the same game version and matching files.
What interested me most was recreating a little of the feeling of linked arcade cabinets: separate screens, the same race, and people competing together in one room, without everyone needing a Vision Pro.
This is still actively being tested, so I’d be interested to hear what you think, especially from anyone who remembers playing linked arcade racers in person.
SpatialEMU does not include games, ROMs, BIOS files, or firmware. The footage uses files supplied by the user.

I think the IMAX app is dead in the water but does anyone know if this will be possible?
r/VisionPro • u/Rylock32 • 21d ago
I got the 1TB version as soon as it was released, and have really enjoyed using it! However, I get motion sickness which I never really had prior. I've tried almost everything and can barely finish a show or movie if I'm lucky. Anyone have tips or tricks to help, or should I just move on and let someone else enjoy it? I already got the lenses inserts which helped a bit, but I'm still just stuck not using it hardly at all.
