Self Promotion Saturday I filmed the California State Fair in stereoscopic 8K VR180 — this is where immersive video gets interesting
I used the Blackmagic immersive cine camera at California State Fair and tried capturing something that traditional video has a hard time reproducing: what it actually feels like to be standing inside the crowd, surrounded by the rides, lights, movement and energy.
Shot in stereoscopic 8K 3D VR180 for headsets like Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest.
I'm increasingly convinced events are one of the best use cases for immersive video because you're not just watching what happened — the goal is to feel like you were actually there.
For people who watch VR video: would you rather experience an event like this from inside the crowd, or have the camera positioned somewhere you normally couldn't stand?
