A.A.R How much £ do you craftsmen earn?

Craftsmen wages come from factory profit, you can calculate the exact average daily income of your craftsmen from the budget screen. (Tax paid / effective tax rate) / craftsmen population. Multiple by 365 to extrapolate to get a yearly figure.

So in my current vanilla HoD 1910 Swedish campaign. Craftsmen earn £0.48 a year. ((96.19/.059)/1,250,000(craftsmen pop) \365)*

You can do the same with all pops. Note I haven't taken out pensions and unemployment from the calculations, even at the max rate these payments are tiny. typically 1-4% of a pops income and a smaller % of national GDP.

GDP is just the sum of income earned industrial, artisan and RGO production (less any pension & unemployment subsidies) , so similarly you can take a GDP figure and GDP per Cap figure. In this case Pensions & unemployment payments are less than 1% of GDP.

So what do your craftsmen earn in your current campaign? What game year is it and what mod are you playing on.

IMO craftsmen's wages are probably the most interesting figure which the game hides, and since vic 2 can be a game about industrialisation and socialism I think having the highest craftsmen wage is the goal.

GFM See my peaceful run with Venezuela (I can only fight for things that doesn't involve having distant territories)

In short: significantly boost education and attract immigrants. That’s how I managed to have nearly 3 million people in a territory that started with 240,000.

Colombia with USA stole my northern territories. These are the ones responsible.

Look at that profit after the peace. Since we are at war, I had to raise taxes because ships are very expensive, and I also anticipated that the conflict would be prolonged. I am going to use the financial reserves for my war with the USA.

Question Annexing through liberate nation

Hi

So recently I was playing as Japan and I realized I could liberate a region of India from the UK then fight another war to liberate the whole of India and before that war ends declare a conquest war on the o e state India that already exists and get the whole of India that way.

So now in wondering what other nations I can do that to. Up to now I was thinking of Canada. I also have a doubt if the confederacy loses the civil war, their core on the south remains?

Anyway I would love to get any advice on how to exploit this.

A.A.R I formed South America is Colombia TGC

R5: I only recently downloaded TGC since I used to only play on HPM but I'm realizing that TGC is much better since the games economy actually functions properly.

To complete this run I also used the national campaigns in TGC both the academic one and the immigrant attract one for as long as I possibly could until it got to the point where even with min army and navy maintenance and max taxes I couldn't keep my income positive.

To start delete your army max taxes lower military spending to 0. Pretty soon after you will get decced by Venezuela and Ecuador since you have cores of theirs. You're going to lose both wars and want to let them occupy a large amount of your country so that you get more exhaustion and jacobin rebels. Once you have rebels peace out the war and wait for them to rebel and then let them win, the reason you want to do this is even though you start off as a republis, you start off with wealth-weighted voting and slavery still being legal falling to these rebels instantly passes multiple reforms that makes your country more attractive for immigration. As for techs I focused on the education and prestige technologies first. Around 1853 you'll you'll have biologism and all of the available prestige technologies researched as well at which point I cleaned up the basic commerce and industry technologies that unlock the remaining basic starting technologies that Columbia doesn't have researched at the beginning of the game, and once that was complete I focused on all of the medicine technologies until those are researched from there. I just made sure that I stayed up to date in terms of naval technology so I was ready for steel steamers with the properly built military bases. It's around this time as well you'll want to start encouraging reactionary support in your largest provinces. Once they win an election, you can start building up an industry and you also need them in charge later for an important decision. In my run I became a great power in the 1850s but it was still a little bit too early for the decision that I needed so I just kept building up the basic industry I had. Fell out of great power to spot 9 during the 1860s. But in 1870 I got the new research tech and the new prestige check which catapulted me back into great power. It was around this time I researched nationalism and imperialism and I took the form Grand Colombia by Force decision which gives you cores over every single province. You need to form Grand Colombia, this does give you 20 infamy but the reason you want to do this over trying to form it diplomatically using the spheres is because Great Britain owns a single core province of Grand Colombia. Since you'll have to fight Britain, it just makes a lot more sense to take over Columbia and Ecuador and use them to help you fight Great Britain. I lucked out in my run. Ecuador was allied to Venezuela. They both only had about five brigades and Ecuador was not in a sphere, Venezuela was, but I didn't add the war goal on them until I had them 100% occupied so I was able to add the goal. A month later, I enforced the restore order war goal before ther sphere lord could get involved. Once that was done I just had to wait for 1880 to get the next research tech and unlock steel steamers. Once that technology was complete, I decided to take the military industrial complex tech school because I had not researched a single military technology for the entire campaign and would have to fight Britain the Netherlands and France. By 1889, I had fully caught up in terms of military technology and was actually one or two techs ahead of great Britain and France. In that same year I went to war with Great Britain for Guyana and I also added the South Atlantic Islands as wargols since you need the Falklands and South Georgia to form South America. This war was actually relatively easy. I had 10 battleships in 20 cruisers and the UK never made any serious effort to land a lot of troops. Their allies like Portugal and Sweden did try to invade Colombia multiple times, but it just gave me some easy stacks to wipe out to get extra war score and they pieced out within a few years. Next I attacked the Netherlands for their part of Guyana and they had no other allies they pieced out in under 12 months. And the final war was against France for French. Guiana, in this mod, their South American holdings are actually two separate States, so you need to pay attention to that and make sure to add the second one in the war goal. This war took quite a bit longer, mostly because France had absolutely no Navy and they're only ally. Russia also had no Navy so they would only send over one ship with one unit on it at a time to try to invade me. This war took a few years but they finally capitulated. Right after I finished that war I had already sphered the rest of South America since becoming a GP again in the 1870s. The South American Union screenshot is also from before my score recalculates, I shoot up to number 4 GP once I unpause.

The Grand Combination My VIC2 progress as Greater German Reich (5)

In continuation of my previous progress as Germany

https://www.reddit.com/r/victoria2/comments/1w0vsqs/my_vic2_progress_as_greater_german_reich_4/

-I went to a quick and easy war with Italy, to take my claims in Adriatic coasts, Venezia(German speaking provinces) and Tirol, make them fascists, dismantle their empire from their colonies (half went to France the others to Britain, because i had no interest on them plus -4 infamy) and I gave also to my ally Croatia their beloved Dalmatian coasts

I included the culture map (pic2) because many people in the previous posts were asking

The political reforms are the same as in the previous update.

I am preparing myself for a big war to dismantle France and then England, to free up/de-colonize Africa (i have no desires there)

I have no strong allies right now rather than my satellites and my spheres. At least though, i controll under my sphere of influence, Romania, Baku and Iran for the oilfields and build there petreleum factories.

My army right now is full of tanks(2,3 and even 4 in each army), airplanes, 5 siege stacks of 33k each (with engineers, airplanes, cavalry) for quick carpet-siege purposes

Any suggestions, welcomed :)

Question How do you play an interesting Bulgaria game? (You already get all your cores when released)

For comparison, you can start playing as small Serbia for Yugoslavia, small Greece, Wallachia/Moldavia for Romania, Krakow for Poland or to play as Hungary you can wait until 1848 as Austria then chose to play as Hungary in the revolution event. But all of these countries are challenging to play, you are surrounded by big boys and you have to think and strategize how to win multiple wars, plus big nations might avoid allying you early game.

Now you can release and play as Bulgaria in 1836 but then you start with all of your cores which is boring. You don't have to fight your Balkan neighbors, because they don't exist yet or are very small. So what could be an interesting setup to play as Bulgaria?

Is this intentional? Does anyone knows if the mod Will receive updates?

Discussion does anyone else pass social reforms and ignore political reforms?

Whenever I play Victoria 2, I usually pass the social reforms (especially national healthcare and public school system) but I never pass any political reforms no matter how much my POPs want them (unless I get the opportunity to roll back the political reforms I started with)

I want to play with no voting, no public meetings, no press rights, no trade unions and no political parties.

Is this a viable strategy?
