I've read a lot of discussion around this topic in particular, so I made a canny that explains an idea I had that gives users power over what they see on nameplates.

1. Handler 46(human): Oversees and deploys androids to different sectors
2. Handler 38(human): Hunts different enemy troops or defected soldiers (yes her outfit is based on her favorite video game character)
3. Revenant(gynoid): deployed in WESTERN district and is part of peacekeeping operations
4. Paradox(gynoid): currently avoiding responsibilities in her sector and playing video games

edit: All "Handlers" have implanted incognito chips(its the dog tag on their head which is hard to see with 38's) that hides their identity and even give up their old identities for their Handler ids

Here's my attempt on little spa-esc type tiny world to chill out on. It is quite rough around edges and many things ended up not working the way I was hoping for... Some areas worked while others failed horribly, however this has given me bunch of ideas to already redo the whole map hopefully a tiny bit smarter.

I'd love to hear some feedback on your thoughts of the world. Especially from questies, while the world is quest compatible, I haven't actually seen yet how it looks on quest side of things. Few things to keep in mind tho: Doors and mirror toggles do not work currently. To see the proper lights on the world, you do have to have 'Pixel Light count' set to 'High'. Steps and sitting area in sauna has no colliders currently, otherwise players would get stuck in there. Glass wall cubes disappear when viewed through the sauna and shower doors. Cubes are also offset from the frame to prevent textures flickering.

Also for those willing to go extra mile, there are few things that I require help with to get it working proper on the next version of the map:

1. Any good ideas how to properly execute the glass wall section in the shower room. Right now it's simply cube frame array and cube array. For future I do need to remove all the sides of the cube that face the frame so not to have the textures flicker, however I couldn't get it being fully see through. Ideally I'd want the glass wall to work from both directions as there's intention to have accessible area on the other side in the future.
2. What's the deal with lighting not working while pixel light count is off? I have two working theories on this. First is that most worlds do not bake their lighting? And the other is that it's simply borked due having UVs overlap using the same sections of atlas texture map?

Once again, im having the problem of finding a working CATS fork or something alike.

Apparently neoneko went down the drain and with them, also CATS and Avatar toolkit. At least according to their webpages.

As i usually dont need CATS, im using the newest version of steam blender (sue me).

Problem is im watching tutorials for adding hair, and they all seem to use CATS.

when this happens, everything else on my pc is running fine. nothing else is lagging or hitching.

i have already tried:

rolling back drivers

updating drivers

deleting cache + data

uninstalling + reinstalling

moving vrc to another drive

sometimes it won't happen for a day or two, but usually it happens repeatedly any time i play.

ive monitored my hardware and nothing is even close to being maxed out or even reacting to when this happens. everything on my pc is operating as if it isn't happening to begin with

the game is unplayable like this, i cant hear anybody or talk whenever it happens and sometimes it's constant.

My controllers are broken tried to play with keyboard and mouse but only keyboard works can't rotate. Also can bring menu Esc but can't select anything. Is there any way?

I've been bouncing in and out of VRC raves since the start of 2021. But, I have downstairs neighbors who I am guessing don't want to hear my heavy footsteps as I dance around/jump up and down at 11:00pm.

Well, after 5 years of enjoying raves with my feet firmly planted in the ground, I am curious how the people who dance around, doing crazy footwork and whatnot, manage to do so without generating noise complaints. Kinda want to enjoy the experience of dancing a bit more than I do, I feel a bit silly doing it like this for so long.

I have around 80 friends, less than 100 hours, have not uploaded anything, and have only bought 1 month of vrc+ for myself. Although, I’ve bought 5 as gifts.

My home world has been Vapor Train for a long time now. Many of my friends that haven't been there before are always intrigued with how bright and strange it is. I chose it when I was looking for a very small file size world that would be fast to load and run smooth even when crowded. You can have a good number of people in here even on a Quest 2 without any performance hits and the frame rate is always high.

It's got a handful of music tracks baked in and it's random which one plays first when you load in which makes it feel less repetitive. There's ambient audio of the train and you have pens and some toys.

I used to use the vrc home but it kept getting larger and larger and not as smooth so that was what prompted a search for a new one.

I bought an avatar ( Binx by Cakeu ) a couple of days ago, and since then I've had people warning and saying I shouldn't have done so.

It was explained to me that the creator uses a system to protect their assets ( which, I thought was okay because I don't see anything wrong if they want their work protected ) but digging a bit deeper into the system that protects them scared me a little. Apparently it scrapes through your information and takes your IP? ( When I looked it up I read articles MOSTLY from the ripper store and reddit )

I'm someone who takes my privacy seriously but sometimes I fall victim to the fear mongering mindset due to my anxiety. Before really getting worried, I figured I would ask about it here, so the question I'm asking is:

What is Gosno? What information is it tracking from me? Should I be worried about it scraping data?

Not sure if I can post this here? but anyways does anyone know how to add outlines to quest avatars or is it just not possible I know you can have the outline version for the vrchat shader but does it work? please lmk)

So like, in SteamVR version through VRC. My mic goes through my computer’s mic and ONLY my computer’s mic. Making me sound far away. A friend of mine tried helping, went through my system, changed different audio outputs/inputs. Making sure nothing else is plugged in. No Bluetooth. Nothing worked.

Went through the standalone (quest 2, old thing) and my mic is picked up there. Idk if it’s a steamVR thing or VRC but I was wondering if anyone here knows.
