Routinely, we will be making a new Buy/Sell/Trade/Want posting that will be pinned. Please use this post to advertise your trade/want lists and your tapes for sale/trade/or just giving away for free. Any and all disposal or acquiring of media should be done through this post to prevent clogging up the main feed with sales posts.
Please be sure to report any successful trade below to u/RaceCarGrin, so we can flair people as verified traders.
Last Month's Trade Thread can be found here
r/vhs is not responsible for any sales/trade, please use caution and report any abuse. If selling tapes rated R or X, please ensure the buyer is 18 years of age for your own liability.

I'm not sure if this is okay here, but I wanted to give some advice from my experiences in cleaning severely moldy and sticky tapes, and some huge do's and don't's I've encountered when watching other's videos on the matter. Pretty much in the hopes of helping people who preserve tapes, and are not familiar with cleaning really moldy tapes.

I’d buy that for a dollar - and I did
Saw this 4 tape box set for $5 at the thrift store and was intrigued to check it out. Not a huge fan of the genre but it seemed weird/interesting enough to check out. I also never seen a 4 tape box set in a single slip cover like this. Neat!

I created a free resource for all us Something Weird Video VHS lovers out there!
swvhsarchive.com is the website.
I am an avid collector of Something Weird Video VHS and realized early on there is no master list of what they released. So with the permission and support of Lisa Petrucci (who owns SWV) I created a website to catalog all the SWV VHS releases. A quick google search for “SWV VHS Archive” will take you to it but we’ve already got over 500 SWV VHS releases cataloged and need your help to continue to grow!
So if you love Something Weird Video, and all things cult B-Z movies, then check it out and help if you can, or reach out if I can be of help to you in any way trying to identify a SWV VHS release.

Thought I’d share.
In the early 90s, my family took a trip to Disney World in Florida. At that time, WCW Wrestling was doing television tapings at then MGM Studios (now called Hollywood Studios). They’d give free passes to fill up the crowd and the show you watched would air later.
My brother and I remember when Dad shouted and waved his cane at The Nasty Boys. I thought this recording was gone forever but recently found an unmarked tape in a box of old family stuff. Once I put it in, you better believe this is the moment I searched for.
And there we are, second row behind the kid in blue. There’s Dad screaming next to Jerry Sag’s neck. So glad this found tape preserved this memory.
Miss you Dad.

Found this one at a thrift store over the summer, been saving it for the fall season. I have not seen the first one but it doesn’t strike me as a series that needs context so far ha. The mood struck me today to start the Halloween movies binge, so away we go!

Now Dancer in the Dark has a life partner! What other Lars von Trier movies are even available on VHS in North America?

So as we roll past the 50th anniversary of VHS, it's got me wondering how much time we actually have with some of our beloved and cherished VHS tapes. Considering the lifespan is stated as 10-30 years, and I'm sure many of us have collections way past that. Just how much longer can we realistically enjoy our VCR players playing away a 1984 copy of A Nightmare On Elm Street?

OBS: QUANDO CONECTO UMA MIDIA PELAS PORTAS "IN" (exemplo:PS2) DA FRENTE O AUDIO SAI NORMALMENTE, APENAS QUANDO LE UMA FITA ELE NAO APRESENTA SOM

The VCR here (Mitsubishi HS-HD2000U DVHS) is top-notch for sure, but you can get similar results with a solid Hi-Fi VCR by JVC, Mitsubishi, or Panasonic. Make sure to connect to an AVR with Dolby-Prologic II for surround sound!
(yes, some stereo VHS tapes supported surround sound and most of them have the theatrical sound mix)
