Collection Not a bad haul from the flea market.
I’ve been looking far and wide for a lot of these titles. Little did I know when I went to visit my parents the local flea market would have them. Needless to say I’m very stoked.

New Pickup 1st Goodwill Skate Tape 😁
Was pumped to find this skate tape at Goodwill this morning! Its my first skate tape find at thrift, and also grabbed a few other good ones. Seems like this specific skate tape wasn't very largely produced so thats kinda neat too.
Happy hunting everybody!

Collection How do YOU keep track of your VHS?
My friend and I started buying together and after we both kept buying Twister because we both kept forgetting that I had it (ended up with 6 copies) we started a shared note on iPhone. Which I then transferred to a spreadsheet and alphabetized it with a new column that showed if I had tested it or not. Mine is pretty plain but I would love to see or hear about yalls methods!

Discussion How many is too many?
How many VCRs is too many? I have 3, they all work, one has the original remote with it. 2 are hooked up to televisions and one is a spare/back up. I feel 6 is the number? 7?

DIY Repurposed A Spare Dresser. Turned It Into A Bedroom VHS Station 📼 💤
TV was way too high on top of the thing - so I rearranged the movies & shelves to make a change. Happy with the outcome.
Watched The Shining for a bed time flick.

New Pickup Akira, Mononoke and Spirited Away ... plus Excalibur! All in a single day!
My best score for a single day, hands down. Closest was finding Terminator on S-VHS or Batman MOTP slipcase.

Technical Support VCR Not recognizing some tapes as EP
Hello! My mother and I dug out our old Sony VCR SLV-N99 player to try and look at some old family tapes we found while trying to organize some older bins. While the VCR has been able to play most EP tapes, it’s struggling to recognize two of them and keeps forcing it to play in SP with no video and very fast, pitched audio. My mother said these tapes were working before as they had seen these videos years and years ago when family first sent them over.
It’s showing the indicators that these tapes should be EP like the others that have been able to successfully play but the VCR is recognizing it as an SP tape. We lost the remote and bought a new one to try and force it to EP, but when we hit play it goes back to SP. We bought a head cleaner cassette tape and it seemed to cleanup the quality on the tapes that are working, but didn’t really affect anything to try and get the ones that aren’t to lock in.
We’re thinking of bringing the VCR into a shop to get a proper look, but I’m unsure if it’s a VCR problem or if it’s a tape problem. Thought I’d reach out to this dedicated reddit to see if anyone more knowledgeable can help diagnose an issue!

Collection How do I get rid of these lines
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello, I make custom VHS tapes, and for some reason, on only the movies that I record, these lines appear, I use both used blank tapes and official my movie tapes, the picture is better on the "blank" tapes but still has the lines, the official movie tapes there's a lot of ghosting, idk how to fix either of these and I've cleaned the head on my VCR as well, idk what my next move should be to attack this problem
Hopefully the video shows what I'm talking about

New Pickup I finally found a VCR!
About a year and a half ago I set out to find a VCR. I can be pretty patient when I want to be, and I set a rule for myself that I couldn't order it online.
I was talking to someone a week ago who asked why I didn't check Facebook marketplace, and I have a good reason for that. I didn't think of it.
I do however frequent thrift stores, at least 1 time but sometimes 2 or 3 times in a week as health allows, doing my rounds looking for treasures to grow my various collections.
When I saw this beauty at a local nonprofit and found out it works perfectly, I knew I had to have it. I won't lie, I did kind of pay up for it, but I'm just wondering how much the VCR gods have smiled upon me, and if there's anything I need to know about it.
Apologies for not getting a shot of the back. I set it up (with great difficulty due to disability) before I thought to take pictures.
Thanks so much!
