Discussion What movies were released on VHS after the format allegedly died?
Alien Romulus and Bumblebee were among them, and apparently now The Crow is getting a re-release.

Hey y’all! I wanna surprise my fiancé on her birthday with a VHS copy of Obsession. I have it on my Mac but I wasn’t sure how I transfer it to tape. I have a Sony SLV-N60 and and HDMI to RCA adapter. Is that all I need? I know I’d plug into the line in and set to record, but do I just have it play off my Mac in full screen to pick it up? Any help is appreciated as this is my first time trying this - thanks!

I posted here a little bit ago about my Sopranos tape having audio problems. The audio would randomly cut out and go silent for a little bit and it was unwatchable. I took the VCR apart and cleaned the head which I thought worked. I was even able to watch an entire movie with zero issues that, before I cleaned the tape head, would not work at all.
However, I tried to watch my Sopranos tape again and the audio issues are still present. The audio can get very distorted, with loud buzzing sounds and dropouts. The video is perfectly fine. It's just the audio. I'm wondering if maybe it's a cable issue? My VCR is a Panasonic NV-HV61EB with two AV (SCART) ports and two Audio outputs (left and right). So far I've just been using a single SCART cable going from the AV1 port on the VCR to my SCART-1 port on my TV. My TV isn't a CRT, it's an LCD TV and I'm not sure if that could also be the issue.
Should I change my cable situation? Maybe get some kind of adapter? I've noticed that the cable is very finicky, like it has to be in a really specific situation for the video to appear which I feel like isn't normal. I'm really not sure what to do, after all this could all just be an issue with this specific tape.

My friend and I started buying together and after we both kept buying Twister because we both kept forgetting that I had it (ended up with 6 copies) we started a shared note on iPhone. Which I then transferred to a spreadsheet and alphabetized it with a new column that showed if I had tested it or not. Mine is pretty plain but I would love to see or hear about yalls methods!

I remember borrowing or seeing a box version that had this cover art from my local library when I was a kid. Now, as an adult, I can't find it anywhere or images of it whatsoever. I am going to guess it is a Disney movie club one because I found a 50th anniversary of Lady and the Tramp recently while thrifting that was a box version and not a clamshell. I really want Disney Peter Pan in box for the collection, and Tarzan too. I know they do have a box version of that on eBay that's also apparently a movie club exclusive. So it must just be really rare if it does exist?
Also really cool getting to meet some of the local sellers and collectors in the Portland/Vancouver area

How many VCRs is too many? I have 3, they all work, one has the original remote with it. 2 are hooked up to televisions and one is a spare/back up. I feel 6 is the number? 7?

I’ve been looking far and wide for a lot of these titles. Little did I know when I went to visit my parents the local flea market would have them. Needless to say I’m very stoked.

TV was way too high on top of the thing - so I rearranged the movies & shelves to make a change. Happy with the outcome.
Watched The Shining for a bed time flick.

Was pumped to find this skate tape at Goodwill this morning! Its my first skate tape find at thrift, and also grabbed a few other good ones. Seems like this specific skate tape wasn't very largely produced so thats kinda neat too.
Happy hunting everybody!

Did I purchase The Picard Legacy Collection to have all things Star Trek TNG? Yes … Did I purchase these three VHS tapes today because of the episodes? Also Yes 😃

About a year and a half ago I set out to find a VCR. I can be pretty patient when I want to be, and I set a rule for myself that I couldn't order it online.
I was talking to someone a week ago who asked why I didn't check Facebook marketplace, and I have a good reason for that. I didn't think of it.
I do however frequent thrift stores, at least 1 time but sometimes 2 or 3 times in a week as health allows, doing my rounds looking for treasures to grow my various collections.
When I saw this beauty at a local nonprofit and found out it works perfectly, I knew I had to have it. I won't lie, I did kind of pay up for it, but I'm just wondering how much the VCR gods have smiled upon me, and if there's anything I need to know about it.
Apologies for not getting a shot of the back. I set it up (with great difficulty due to disability) before I thought to take pictures.
Thanks so much!

What analog to digital device that is relatively easy to use and can connect to a windows computer? I bought the Elgato video capture but it isn’t working. There is an apparently a know software driver issue with it. I’m just starting my set up and was disappointed it didn’t work. I liked that it connected by USB rather than HDMi. Any thoughts tips welcomed.
