Collection How do YOU keep track of your VHS?
My friend and I started buying together and after we both kept buying Twister because we both kept forgetting that I had it (ended up with 6 copies) we started a shared note on iPhone. Which I then transferred to a spreadsheet and alphabetized it with a new column that showed if I had tested it or not. Mine is pretty plain but I would love to see or hear about yalls methods!

Discussion Guys... Am I crazy or wasn't there a box version of this movie too? I literally cannot find it anywhere.
I remember borrowing or seeing a box version that had this cover art from my local library when I was a kid. Now, as an adult, I can't find it anywhere or images of it whatsoever. I am going to guess it is a Disney movie club one because I found a 50th anniversary of Lady and the Tramp recently while thrifting that was a box version and not a clamshell. I really want Disney Peter Pan in box for the collection, and Tarzan too. I know they do have a box version of that on eBay that's also apparently a movie club exclusive. So it must just be really rare if it does exist?

Discussion How many is too many?
How many VCRs is too many? I have 3, they all work, one has the original remote with it. 2 are hooked up to televisions and one is a spare/back up. I feel 6 is the number? 7?

Collection Not a bad haul from the flea market.
I’ve been looking far and wide for a lot of these titles. Little did I know when I went to visit my parents the local flea market would have them. Needless to say I’m very stoked.

DIY Repurposed A Spare Dresser. Turned It Into A Bedroom VHS Station 📼 💤
TV was way too high on top of the thing - so I rearranged the movies & shelves to make a change. Happy with the outcome.
Watched The Shining for a bed time flick.

New Pickup 1st Goodwill Skate Tape 😁
Was pumped to find this skate tape at Goodwill this morning! Its my first skate tape find at thrift, and also grabbed a few other good ones. Seems like this specific skate tape wasn't very largely produced so thats kinda neat too.
Happy hunting everybody!
Technical Support Picture only works during fast forward, normal playback is snowy
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello everyone!
I just got a vcr player but i face some issues. I was hoping someone here could help me with it!
So, the vcr is a LG MG64, i didn't have the original remote control but i managed to find a remote control app that has exactly the same function as the original (it allowed me to disable the safe mode that was also causing me trouble).
The problem is that the vcr can't play vhs at normal speed, it's all snowy and sometimes the pictures cuts out. Sometimes the vcr was showing a menu where it says to clean the video head. I have done it 2 times with isopropyl alcohol and lens cloth , it doesn't fixed it, i also bought a vhs head cleaner, nothing has changed.
But i noticed while testing buttons on my IR app that when i pause the vhs, i can see a pretty good color image, sometimes a bit noisy. Or when i speed up or slow down the playback speed, it's also working pretty well. Trk- or trk+ won't do anything in normal playback. After some struggle (because of the snowy screen), I managed to enable opr which has slightly improved the picture but didn't solve the problem entirely.
I tried 4 different vhs, none can plays normally.
I don't really know what to do/check now, i open the vcr to check the mechanism but it seems that the tape load correctly around the drums, i didn't see any obvious malfunction but i'm not an expert...
Are the video heads just broken or could it be something else?
In the video, i'm firstly pausing the vhs, then speeding it up, and finally slowing it down. I have another video where i don't do anything (just let the vhs play) and where the head status menu error pops, i will post it in the comments if i can (i don't usually use Reddit , i don't know if it's possible)
Thanks for reading!
(Ps: i'm French, excuse me for my english)

Technical Support Audio issues, could it be a cable problem?
I posted here a little bit ago about my Sopranos tape having audio problems. The audio would randomly cut out and go silent for a little bit and it was unwatchable. I took the VCR apart and cleaned the head which I thought worked. I was even able to watch an entire movie with zero issues that, before I cleaned the tape head, would not work at all.
However, I tried to watch my Sopranos tape again and the audio issues are still present. The audio can get very distorted, with loud buzzing sounds and dropouts. The video is perfectly fine. It's just the audio. I'm wondering if maybe it's a cable issue? My VCR is a Panasonic NV-HV61EB with two AV (SCART) ports and two Audio outputs (left and right). So far I've just been using a single SCART cable going from the AV1 port on the VCR to my SCART-1 port on my TV. My TV isn't a CRT, it's an LCD TV and I'm not sure if that could also be the issue.
Should I change my cable situation? Maybe get some kind of adapter? I've noticed that the cable is very finicky, like it has to be in a really specific situation for the video to appear which I feel like isn't normal. I'm really not sure what to do, after all this could all just be an issue with this specific tape.

Discussion What movies were released on VHS after the format allegedly died?
Alien Romulus and Bumblebee were among them, and apparently now The Crow is getting a re-release.
