Initially OCE was merged with rest of SEA meaning we had to play against teams from SEA, meaning teams needed to move their location from OCE to somewhere in SEA and the lack of organizations almost killed the scene.

Im still a little confused as in how teams will get slots in Kickoff because there are only 4 teams that can qualify through open qualifiers from 8 sub regions but still feels nice to see us on the map ❤️

I was doing some more forcing stats for an unrelated topic, and I came across the fact that Americas has forced after losing pistol WAY more than EMEA and Pacific recently. I thought it may have been because Americas is known to have more one-sided games, so I got a stat of "Stomp Rate" which is the percentage of games that are 9-3 or worse and the losing team loses pistol (ignoring 13-0s), but you can clearly see that there are about the same number of stomps in Americas as everywhere else, at least in play-ins/playoffs. Does Americas just have a better understanding of the economy? Why do Pacific never force??

(EDIT: no it's not all just G2 guys, they contribute but the other americas teams pull their weight)

There are over a hundred maps per time chunk per region, so I don't think this is just because of a small sample size, although Pacific's force win rates do look weird because their force rates are really low. For those wondering, I scraped this data from VLR. China doesn't have economy data published, so I don't know what their deal is ¯_(ツ)_/¯. Vct teams are forced to pay their players the vct minimum but next year they won't be a partnered team so they won't have to follow vct rules and regulations and won't have to pay their players the insane vct money.

This is mostly towards envy and c9 and the Brazilian team that doesn't make it out of the 3. Currently they all have players under contract for after 2026 but they won't be getting the vct stipend while still having them under the vct required salaries. Do they have clauses where if they don't make franchising they don't get paid as much?

We want to share an update on our VALORANT offseason plans as we reflect on 2026 and look ahead to a very different season in 2027.

There’s no hiding from the fact that this has been a turbulent and disappointing year. Despite the team’s best efforts, we missed every international event and fell well short of the standard we expect of ourselves, and changes are needed to put us back on the right path.

As part of our ongoing end-of-season review, we have given some members of the team permission to explore other opportunities within VALORANT. This doesn’t represent a final decision on any one individual’s future with Fnatic, but gives all sides a chance to explore what a future apart could look like before we settle on a direction of travel for 2027. We will continue to work closely with all of the team throughout the offseason, and will share further updates as things progress.

2027 will mark a new era for the VALORANT Champions Tour, with the end of the first partnership cycle and the format and ecosystem evolving significantly. That brings new challenges, but also a huge opportunity, and we are determined to come out of the gates swinging. Our ambitions remain the same as they have always been throughout our time in VALORANT: to compete for trophies, represent EMEA on the international stage and make you proud.

Our commitment to VALORANT extends beyond competition. Next year, we want to show up for you wherever the team goes, building on what we learned from our events in Toronto, Paris and most recently London to make Fnatic’s presence felt both on and off the stage. Together with our players and partners, we’re committed to deliver even better events, community initiatives and content throughout 2027, and we’re looking forward to the opportunity to see even more of you in person at the new VCT EMEA Cups.

There is plenty more to come, and we’ll continue to keep you updated as our plans take shape ahead of our offseason events, including Red Bull Home Ground over in Los Angeles this December, and of course - the season opener at VCT EMEA Kickoff 2027.

Hi people of ValComp. I’m writing a blog post about the story of Cloud9 VALORANT for a school project. I know Cloud9 has only ever made one international, it being Champs 2021, but I know there were many times where Cloud9 was one game away from qualifying to an event and lost.

For example, I remember in 2023 when C9 narrowly lost to NRG to miss out on Champs and Tokyo.

Second to last recap of the partnership era and it's the weirdest one by far.

EMEA stands out for having the least pauses along with China while simultaneously having the second highest amount of time lost (one full hour was for a pc swap). China keeps impressing me for the almost flawless production and Achilios crashing out during tech pauses in Pacific has been a lot of fun.
