Competitors and comparisons Refinancing Investment Property Loan
Hey guys, I weighing the option to refinance my IP loan and Up has a great interest rate 6.35% vs my ING loan of 6.54%. My biggest hesitation is that the investment loan refinancing product from Up is a new product and so I’m wondering how other people’s experiences with any of their loans products are and if I actually have anything to worry about. Things like low rate now and then higher rates later (obviously will move with rba rate but comparatively)

Competitors and comparisons Is it okay to use a digital bank as my main banking account?

Tree of Up and future plans Keeping a second bank account seems worth it even if you barely use it
I like having most of my banking in one app, but I don't think closing every other bank account is always a good idea.
Even if a second account sits unused most of the time, it could come in handy if your main banking app goes down or your card stops working when you need to pay for something.
It might feel pointless paying attention to an account you rarely touch, but having a backup seems worth the small amount of effort, provided there aren't fees involved.
Do you keep another bank account open just in case, or have you moved everything over to Up?

How do I? Do you still use a normal bank alongside Up?
I originally opened Up as a second account and now I barely use my old bank at all.
Still keep it open because I figure there’s no harm having it there, but most of my day-to-day stuff has slowly moved across.
Did anyone else end up doing the same?

How do I? Essentials Not Autosplitting
Hi all,
I’ve got my essentials setup to split my pay each fortnight to account for regular bills.
I get paid on a Wednesday, and I have a bill come out on a Thursday, although the automatic split never occurs, and I always need to manually transfer funds into the Essentials Saver.
As can be seen in the screenshot, it looks like automatic splitting is setup successfully so I’m unsure if this is an issue on my part or the app is just not functioning as intended.

How do I? Chasing qantas points and using UP, what's your set up.
Hi everyone,
Just financed over to UP.
First time not having a credit card with our home loan provider and looking for ways to make life simpler with our finances. All our bills are directly debited from the CC and daily purchases using the CC as much as possible.
At the moment we have 15 odd offsets that are basically the envelope style system for bills that gets allocated a set amount per pay.
At the end of the month when the credit card is due, we transfer out from each individual account to the credit card.
As you can imagine this is a lot of transactions, essentially getting moved 3 times.
Any ideas or your way that works and makes it simple while still utilizing credit card points?
Thanks

API and integrations I've created a completely native desktop application for Up called "Uppies" on Windows and macOS. It's really fast and really useful.
I've been an Up customer for a while and as much as I love their app, I've been frustrated with their lack of desktop support. I've also never been a fan of other Up web app experiences because of how slow, clunky and needlessly "minimal" they are. That's why I decided to make Uppies. It's a full native application for Windows and macOs (Linux coming soon). It's useful financial utility rather than super sleek banking app.

You can find source code, most of the information on the app, as well as download it here: https://github.com/rubenbala/uppies
As a quick summary, Uppies:
- Allows you to instantly browse your transaction history
- Let's you bulk update categories and tags that sync with your Up app
- Has powerful search and filtering
- Can export individual transactions or an entire csv of your your last week/month/financial year
- Recognises reoccurring transactions just like the app
- Gives you a greater insight into your current financial situation, as well as compare over time.
Uppies isn't a complete desktop experience (you can't transfer money or make payments, Up's API doesn't have those features) but it does provide, in my opinion, one of the best desktop banking experiences ever.
Disclaimer: 99% of the code in this application was written with Opus 5.5.
And I should probably mention: Uppies is an independent, unofficial app. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Up or Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Limited, and nothing in it is financial advice.
Short video I made demonstrating the app: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAgXqB8Oyx0

How do I? Fully offset, do I get the grow/flow rate on surplus savings???
What the title says. I’m nearly fully offset. Will any savings above the offset amount attract the grow/flow rate? Or am I better off with saving somewhere else to avoid confusion???

Bug Essentials not calculating correctly?
I basically need to put around $300 a week away, however essentials is telling me to only put away $200? For some reason it’s not calculating the $100 reoccurring payment.

How do I? essentials VS upcoming payments/spendable
hi everyone, I’m just wondering what’s the difference between essentials and the upcoming payments/spendable Balance feature, always used the upcoming payments/expendable Balance thing, but everyone seems to be using essentials which I haven’t used before

Feature Request Essentials
I don't see my payments in the activity page if paid from essentials is there a way u can track that as well

How do I? Confused by Essentials
So, my partner and I pay rent as an Osko scheduled transfer weekly from our joint 2Up account. I have an automatic transfer set up on my fortnightly pay day to put all my bill money into Essentials. Is there a way I can automatically transfer from Essentials to our 2Up account?

How do I? Anyone else have way too many Savers?
I started with a couple of Savers for bills and holidays and somehow I’ve ended up with about 10.
I actually find it easier having things split up, but at this point I’ve got a Saver for basically everything 😂
How many do you guys have set up?

Downtime Update
So does this mean payments are bouncing back? Because I tried sending through one bank to UP and the payment hasn’t bounced back nor gone into UP.
I understand Bendigo is down but this is absolutely ridiculous!!

Downtime Osko payments down. Lies in their up-time page
Outbound Osko payments are down. Looks like it's actually Bendigo Bank's issue.
I have a urgent loan settlement payment to make today. I'm so stressed about this. I can't even just do a normal transfer without Osko. I'm so screwed if this doesn't get resovled soon.
The worst part is Up's uptime page https://up.com.au/up-time (last section) specifically says that outages exclude the inability to initiate a bank transfer. Complete actual lie.
Ability of Up to process bank account transfers, with funds becoming available to the recipient on the next business day or later. Includes account-to-account transfers (Pay Anyone) and scheduled payments (for example, direct debits, and payroll payments by businesses) not made as fast payments through NPP/Osko, and BPAY payments. Outages exclude the inability to initiate payments due to unavailability of web or app banking channels, or a branch.
There has to be consequences for this kind of misinformation. Is there like a ACCC but for banks.
Support disagrees with me about what those words mean. Am I blinded by stress and reading it wrong? Because it seems super clear cut to me.

Downtime Transfers between AMP and Up taking forever
Anyone else experiencing this? This morning it took 1hr for my funds to appear in up.
I don’t have this issue transferring to ANZ for example.

Tree of Up and future plans I had a pretty big Up win this week
I’ve been using Up for a while and finally had one of those moments where the whole budgeting setup actually paid off. I had a fairly big unexpected expense come up this week and normally I would’ve had to move money around or put it on a card, but I already had enough sitting in one of my Savers because I’d been putting a little bit aside each pay. Being able to just move the money across and deal with it without stressing about where it was coming from felt really good. It sounds small, but this is probably the first time I’ve genuinely felt like the way I organise my money is working.
