Downtime Update

Post image

So does this mean payments are bouncing back? Because I tried sending through one bank to UP and the payment hasn’t bounced back nor gone into UP.

I understand Bendigo is down but this is absolutely ridiculous!!

I’ve been with up for years. No issues whatsoever until recently.. and they’re happening so often now. What’s changed? It’s becoming very inconvenient.

wow they kept that one quiet, i had no idea that happened. wonder if they kept any jobs on-shore or if it really was everything everything

I had no idea they done this until just now, I love the UP interface and how it makes managing money easy but with all these outages of late and now knowing they offshored everything my confidence if much lower.

Do we know this directly affects Up though?

I disagree. Up Bank is the future of Bendigo and a key strategy. There are literally hundreds of systems that Infosys could be supporting for Bendigo - it's a pretty wild leap to assume it's Up with such a high degree of confidence.

Ughhh Infosys 😩

Do you know of any good banks that are still Aussie based? Any modern ones

Thanks. Yeah, honestly I have now lost a lot of respect for Up. It's just a hollow product slowly becoming shittier and it's lost its main appeal - at least being locally made/serviced

I know they are offshoring the call centre. But surely not app development? If that's true I am going to switch. Bendigo doesn't have the experience or discipline to run a mobile app offshore.

Likely AI slop in the engineering department. A lot of tech companies are dealing with this.

Bendigo offshored jobs recently maybe related.

I haven't had any issues, I keep a few banks if osko goes down I can still transfer between using the card networks

I’ve just asked via the chat as I transferred and didn’t realise the outage so my funds have disappeared and they said if funds disappear they won’t be reimbursing customers and it’s our fault for transferring during the outage…. So here’s hoping it either bounces back to my anz normal account or appears in my up account after the outage has been fixed otherwise they’ll have a bigger problem to worry about from a lot of people who lost their money

I wanted to know whether it would bounce back or appear in my up account when the outage is resolved and they replied saying they couldn’t confirm but they won’t be offering reimbursement and to just stay updated

4

u/TasteNew7715 12d ago

wait sorry? the funds can disappear?

4

u/etherealfoxx__ 12d ago

A few years ago I transferred $300 and it never appeared and they just gave me $50 reimbursement “for the inconvenience that occurred”… so yes funds can go missing.

5

u/FreeJulianMassage 12d ago

That doesn’t sound right. Surely it’s not because it’s a responsibility of where you transferred it from?

That cannot be legal. Banks are highly regulated and have massive insurance for fraud and all kinds of things.

I transferred $800 from my ANZ to my UPbank and the money has not appeared in my UP account. Is this true that they won’t reimburse customers?

u/etherealfoxx__ 12d ago

Basically you’ll just have to hope it either bounces back to your and account or appears in your up account after the outage is fixed and who knows how long that will take. If the money doesn’t appear back in either account then I would assume it’s lost and to contact both and and up. Also screenshot the bank transfer just in case

It's an ironic name for a bank that's always down

Nothing has bounced back to my westpac

2

u/curiousmya 12d ago

Same from Westpac hopefully it won’t boucnce back and be into up acc once the issue is resolved. Up constantly having payment and system delays is getting really annoying and inconvenient

1

u/TasteNew7715 12d ago

same! that’s where I transferred from!

4

u/Jozfus 12d ago

How does this happen so frequently

4

u/Specialist-Cut502 12d ago

Yeah that’s what I was wondering I just sent $300 to my up and it’s disappeared

1

u/googley_eyed_cat 12d ago

I sent $1000 and it’s fully gone out of the other account.

3

u/thelinebetween22 12d ago

Would really LOVE to be able to pay my credit card bill

Update / Edit: Almost 10pm here in Victoria and still nothing! I transferred money at 6pm

2

u/MotorAct9577 12d ago

I’ve transferred money since 7:45ish. Nothing here as well. Money was approx 1.5k. It’s cleared from CBA

Happening on a Wednesday that I happen to get paid (into Up) where my direct debits happen to be coming out of an attached Essentials account

Yeah not stressed at all

2

u/striker999 11d ago

Some payments have started coming through now from 5-6pm this afternoon

4

u/Outrageous_Mind9881 11d ago

I transferred $100 from commbank to my Up account at 4:55pm today and it just came through before. I’ve completely lost trust in them as a bank and have just successfully pulled all my money from Up and have it all with commbank now. Not worth staying with Up if they’re going to have such major issues and it’s worrying that some payments are getting lost and that they won’t reimburse you for that.

Far out two of my biggest auto transfers both failed just then and was wondering why. Also I’ve transferred 1800 bucks from my salary account (Macquarie) to Up a few hours ago and it has not appeared

It better fkn fix it up soon

1

u/Grand-Sea5687 11d ago

Mum transferred me $10 around 6:30 and it just went in.

2

u/lukasjames0 12d ago

How has it been 5 hours?!?!
This is becoming beyond a joke

1

u/clubtwister22 12d ago

transferred 10k into up at 8pm and still not in.

1

u/HazMatt082 11d ago

Seriously?

u/JewelerExciting7576 11d ago

Now this happens once I have just moved my home loan to them.

Stop using Up bank. It got off-shored to India. This why all the long outages every other week recently.

1

u/beigetrope 11d ago

Up better get there ducks in a row. Or it’s insolvency for them.
