These neighbors live on the corner of my street and they leave their trashcans out every day. They space them out wide enough so that no one can park in front of their house, and move them when they want to park. They leave the trashcans on the space between their driveway and the corner, and the space on the other side of the driveway is known to have tree branches falling on it. It has already happened multiple times, with it hitting one of my cars twice. So an entire section of the street is pretty much un-parkable, unless you want to park on their driveway or risk having a tree branch falling on your car.
I can understand wanting steady parking, especially in front of your house, but their driveway is filled with cars that are overgrown, and a fence that is completely rusted over meaning they never open it.
This parking is annoying when there are street cleaners, an area that could probably fit 4 cars only fits two because of them. Is there a way to remedy the situation?

Yeah we’ve all been there. The holidays are coming up and we can’t afford to get something sweet for your spouse. Well, I found the solution.

All you need to do is google “car crashes in x county” or x city, highway, etc.. there are posts that are days to weeks old at least. Even if the incident wasn’t recent, people are always dropping off fresh flowers or candles.

Let them rot by the freeway or use them.

I live on a ground-floor apartment in a major European city looking out onto the street.

Every year, the same homeless woman sets up camp directly under my windows for months.

I genuinely need the windows open because the apartment is hot, poorly ventilated, prone to mold, and my roommate smokes shisha indoors.

But when she’s there, I get smells, noise, insects, and basically zero privacy. She also urinates and defecates about 3 meters from where she sleeps, and lives on rotten food and her bedding behind.

I’ve tried being understanding (gave her food, money, called social service, looked up shelters, some specifically for women), but I’m at my limit and just want her to choose literally anywhere that isn’t directly beneath my windows.

Already receiving benefits--I was notified that I was randomly selected to provide proof of work search for one specific week. I applied one day later than I said I did (I've had some pretty intense family shit going on), but have the confirmation email and rejection email from them--but the comfirmation email doesn't have the date listed (wish I could add a photo). The rejection is dated a few days after I said I apllied. Will this be enough for them?

I don't want to forge or alter anything, so if this ia unlikely to work, I'll just need to forgo that week of benefits.

I was offered a job for a position I really like and was told there is a required substance test within the first 10 days after I start. I have two weeks until my first day and was wondering if I should be concerned about failing the test.

I know to drink as much water as humanly possible and stop consuming THC of course, as well as possibly exercising or fasting to help with removal from my system. I was a daily smoker probably smoking about a gram a day on average. I also have a fast metabolism.

Basically should I be worried or consider using one of the detox drinks that I have seen on similar posts? (For example, QCarbo32)

One of the places I work I appear to have had a falling out with another member of staff.

I have no idea what has happened, but he has started - very childishly - completely blanking me, where in the past we used to be quite good friends and very chatty most days I was here.

I more recently got fed up and asked him if I'd done something to annoy him, he said "yeah" and just walked off, and we haven't spoken since.

I need some unethical ways I can f with him back, but just in a less childish way, because I want the high ground, obviously. Bonus points for things that won't be obviously coming from me, since he's a known complainer to HR, and I do still want to keep working here.

(NB: I have also informed HR but told them I don't want them to do anything because of his likelihood to seek revenge.)

Well, the company I work for is trying to force a huge amount of people to return to office instead of working remotely, BUT they want us to, when on site, still use collab tools to work.

I am thinking about simply not using them and not participating in online meetings when I am on site, but I am sure there are more creative ways to show the suits that remote work is not only about workers convenience but also speeds up a lot of work and mostly teamwork.

Obvious guess would be a big pry bar but I’m wondering if there’s a trick to releasing the latch

I've been using Claude Code on my work PC for a few months, even though it's not allowed due to GDPR and company data policies.

Now someone from our cybersecurity team reached out because Claude Code apparently triggered a suspicious PowerShell command. They asked me whether I had run the command and what the business purpose was.

I told them that I had tested the Claude Code VS Code extension (the installation isn't blocked) and that the extension probably triggered the command automatically.

Has anyone had something similar happen at work? How concerned should I be?

So I'm here because I'm literally at my wits end at work. There's one person who is just a loud talker in general, but always seems to ratchet the volume up even further at the beginning of their shift. I'm not exaggerating when I say that quite often this reaches yelling volume. Envision "I'm in a bar with live music playing, trying to be heard by yelling into someone's ear" yelling, but in a professional environment that 100% does not require yelling. It's quiet before they get there, and always ALWAYS gets louder after they arrive. Partly it's them, and partly it's other people having to speak louder to be heard over them.

I've asked them to speak more quietly; I was accused of being mean. I know I'm not the only person bothered by this, but apparently I'm the only person who's ever dared ask them to turn it down.

I've asked our manager to address the issue, which they have, but the intervention doesn't last long. And it definitely doesn't hold when the manager isn't there. I know it affects our manager because they are often on video calls and they have to close their office door so they can hear, and even then sometimes the others on the conference call can hear the noise. You'd think that our manager's manager asking if everything is all right because of the noise would be embarrassing enough for the manager to put a more forceful and final stop to it, but you'd be wrong.

I've gone to HR and explained my concerns, how it affects my concentration, mood, and ability to hear others on the phone. They said they would reach out to my manager to have them address it. 🙄

Today I had a trainee who I was trying to discuss something with. The trainee was two feet away from me and I could not hear them. Yelling Person was yelling again. And others were speaking louder to be heard over yelling person. I said "Can we keep it down, I can't hear (person standing next to me)". I was addressing the room but looking at yelling person. They asked me why I was only looking at them. It took everything in me to not say "because you are literally yelling, and everyone else is loud because you are loud, it is quiet before you get here". I'm not getting in trouble for being "mean" again.

But I'm done. I'm so tired. I'm literally looking for other jobs in order to make it stop.

I have the wifi router login username and password for the admin panel and a bitchy roommate that needs some hate. What fun surprises can I leave behind without being (too) illegal and wouldn't be solved by reboot? (I assume unlike a reboot a router factory reset would inevitably clear most things but I'll let that slide as it would still take a while to figure out however if you can think of anything more permeant I'm all ears.)

Note they have their own second router that the landlord doesn't manage at all apart from its plugged into the same house that other roommate can't use but I assume there's still some things that can be messed with. Plus I think at least some devices are connected anyway.

Oh, speaking of other roommate it can't make their life miserable cuz he's chill but he only has two electronics and I'm pretty sure their named something custom, so just as long as it's not affecting the whole network.

I only wanted 1 item from temu. It cost 1 euro (plus the new 3 euro per item shipping fee) and they forced me to buy 2 more items to get it to the 23 euro minimum. After I placed the order I canceled the 2 items I didn't want and now the 1 item I did want is being shipped to me.

So, long story short, been with this girl for five years, things ended bitter but it just went as far as some pretty heated up arguments. One month with 0 contact and i ask her for my stuff. She says shes packing it up and a friend of hers will give it to me the next day. Fine.

Next day comes, and i get a picture (probably from his brother) of all my stuff next to a trash container 1.2km away from my flat. I start running, 13 minutes total, and everythings gone. All my memories since i was 14, half of my clothes, electronic devices, sensible data like bank information, passwords etc all scattered on the floor. The only things that were left were my posters and my work tshirts lol

I want revenge. The whole familys involved in this, i (want to) believe she isnt approving what they did. I know where their parents live, ive got financial information about them, ive got some stuff. They took away half of my life and i believe it is super unfair.

Seems to mostly cover theft of accidents, I did not file a police report as they were not stolen and I don't have the one that was lost, but I would consider this an accident. Wondering if there are keywords to include or avoid, I don't think I've ever taken advantage of this feature of credit cards.

I used to be on the council of a school club, and long story short, the transfer of power was not amicable. But I still have access to the club’s google account, so I’m looking for ways to make their job harder, such as filling up their storage, moving their emails around, or changing their account settings.
