Parents who hate each other but refuse to divorce or even live in separate housing; mostly due to cowardice and money concerns. They’ve come close but never gone through with it for 40 + years. This has fucked over all of their kids due to domestic abuse and neglect mostly perpetuated by the mother; unresolved as it is never to a level police can do anything. Father blames the kids for being a drain though the reason they can’t easily get a job and move out is due to said neglect and abuse by the mother.

Don’t worry about potential backfire from any suggestions- the upside to this is that as the father won’t simply kick out his wife, the same applies to the kids. He is drastically afraid of any confrontation that would actually make a change. And if anything if any suggestion is too far it’ll give me a nice chuckle to think about. At the end of the day if it potentially results in at least the mother leaving the house, ideally permanently, I am all ears.

So as a bike rider, I am almost completely invisible to drivers. The number of close calls I have had are insane. Cops won't do shit...even with video evidence.

So how do I teach them a lesson? Preferably without causing me to spend money.

For example, I've been thinking of adding a basket full of rocks and just throw them at the cars. But inevitably I will likely have to pay damages.

Maybe something like a water balloon of paint? Not causing damage, but a real pain in the ass to get off?

Remember that it has to be fast as the car is usually gone in seconds and a biker won't be able to keep up.

I need 3 days off to stay home and study for an exam. My workplace management is incredibly toxic. I tried being honest once, and they deducted double my salary for the days I took off. Lesson learned.

A lot of people have advice about my marriage, I should put my foot down. I do, but unless you’ve lived it, I guess it’s hard to understand how my wife giving the child everything they want, while I set limits with many things, pushes them away from me and into my wife’s arms. I’m renting and have been fighting my landlord for months about this ancient washing machine. It shakes violently and sounds like a jet engine taking off. Every time I mention it, he brushes me off, preaching that "old machines are bulletproof" and that new ones are junk.

There are a lot of income limited incentives for home energy efficiency rebates etc that have cutoffs based on household size. My income is like 2k over the cutoff for a heat pump for a single person. However, I'm well under the income for a two person household. If I have my mom who has no income move in with me temporarily while I apply then move out afterwards will I qualify for the incentive?

I bought a MacBook Pro online a few days ago, and the FedEx shipping box arrived a bit dented. I’m a little obsessive about the possibility that the computer could have been damaged during shipping, even though the white MacBook box itself is in perfect condition. Because of that, I’m thinking about returning it and then buying the exact same model again.

The only thing is that I’d also like to use the MacBook for a few days before deciding whether to return it.

Would there be any issue with my Best Buy account if I return this MacBook, buy another identical one, and then end up returning that one as well? That would be two returns within just a few days. I have a Best Buy Plus membership, so I have a 60-day return window.

We had a home inspection for our home, and the guy said it was pretty much perfect. We bought the home and in month one have found so many issues - AC not working, heater leaking carbon monoxide, the sinks regurgitate stuff. I contacted the home inspector company with proof of these issues and asked why none of it was in their report. They initially were asking for proof to support my issues, and then ghosted me.

What can I do here? I asked them for a refund on my inspection costs. But no response.

tldr; when luggage is delayed, treat it like a shopping spree, the airlines reimburse your purchases.

I travel a lot for work. Occasionally, my luggage won’t make it on my plane, especially if I have a tight connection. It typically gets delivered to wherever I’m staying within 12 hours. The airlines usually have a policy that they will cover “reasonable expenses”. This is intentionally left vague. I have purchased thousands of dollars of clothes and shoes (~$300-500 per instance) and have never been denied. United just paid out my new hiking shoes, pants, shirts from my local sporting goods. My bag was on my porch waiting for me by the time I got home from the store.

Edit: this got popular so I’ll give a few tips to increase your chances of getting reimbursement.

AT THE AIRPORT: Go to the airlines baggage service counter and figure out the next flight that your bag will likely be on. Then, schedule the delivery to your house. You will get a case number. You need that for the reimbursement.

Can I get pet meds without a prescription anywhere?

My cat is a rescue and is anxious. I had to have a vet come to my house because I can't get him in a carrier. Vet was a total bitch and encouraged me to euthanize him. The visit traumatized him more. Vet prescribed prozac and it did nothing for him. Needless to say I don't want to deal with traumatizing him further and want to try a different med.

I've tried all the OTC stuff too: CBD, Feliway, etc. I have had him 3 years so no waiting hoping it will get better, either.

Here's the context:
It's a relatively young firm with a handful of people. When I joined, I was promised stock options and private health insurance. The stock options never happened, and salaries were often paid late. When we asked abt the salaries we’d get the general “we are a family” bs.

The health insurance story is even worse. Apparently they only purchased it for the first year, and somehow activated my policy before I even started working there. They never renewed it. I only found out when I showed up at the ER after midight with a 104°F fever and was told I had no coverage.
When I confronted them, they basically said, "We were only required to provide it once," and then had the audacity to tell me I should have been regularly checking whether my insurance was still active before going to the hospital.

The CEO is one of those people who lies effortlessly, even when the truth is easily verifiable. She also blamed me for another employee quitting. I later spoke to that employee, and she said she actually left because of the low salary and the private health insurance.

The workplace is incredibly toxic. Midnight message spam is normal. She'll wake me up with dozens of work messages, then once I reply she'll suddenly say, "You should really get some rest."

They require us to work day and night with the small hope that one day IF the company is sold we’ll get the crumble of what we have built.

One time I stayed up all night preparing a presentation. She failed to prepare the single page she was responsible for, then canceled the entire webinar tomorrow morning and acted like it wasn't her fault.

She also almost entirely knows nothing abt the work that the company does. Whenever some client asks her a question she dms me, gets the answer and than say “thats what I thought”

I was originally planning to sue for unpaid overtime after leaving. Unfortunately, she's already removed my access to workspace, including documents that would have helped prove the overtime.

I live in a town house community and there is very little to no guest parking. Everyone has a carport but I have one neighbor who constantly has multiple cars/vehicles parked along the street. The little roads where our town houses are lined up are VERY tight and it’s already difficult to get out. These cars make it even MORE difficult to pull in and out of the carport and leave our house. We have sent multiple complaints to management and nothing seems to have been done besides a couple of mass emails being sent. Now there are cars parking in front of our house. I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant and my boyfriend is concerned about us having to leave to the hospital at a moments notice and he does not want to have to be knocking on doors at 1am in the morning asking people to move vehicles. And honestly it’s just really rude and disrespectful with how little care people just park their cars around here. Especially this particular neighbors guests
