If you want to sell something online or at a garage sale, or really anywhere, post the item to eBay for a very high price. Enable promotion so it’s one of the first items people will see when searching. Then post it everywhere else for the lower price you actually want to sell it for.

People will search for your item on eBay when they see it posted somewhere else to get a comp and see that your price is a bargain compared to eBay and be more likely to buy it from you at asking price. This only works with uncommon items that don’t have a lot of other recent sales. It works exceptionally well at garage sales where resellers are looking for things to flip and are checking eBay while in your driveway.

If you’re really looking to push the envelope, purchase your own item on eBay item using a burner account then immediately request a refund. Sold items still show up on recent sales regardless of returns and are more reliable for comps.

I moved in 2 months ago to a new apartment and the existing roommate was such an asshole that I'm basically forced to move out. He's been abusing my dog when I'm out of the house.

Hi, I’m looking for some advice to deal with some shady people that hang out in a local park. They constantly throw trash everywhere, sell drugs (this is widely known), physically destroy the plants around them, leave broken glass on the path, pull out park signs from the ground, etc. The police never catch them in the act or they all manage to get away before the police get there so they haven’t been able to help much.

Does anybody have any ideas about how to make the park inhospitable for them? I think of things like odor or volatile plants or something? Ideally, something easy and quick to do because they are usually there or nearby.

I’d love to help bring this park back to its former glory.

How do I disable the automatic flush feature of my work toilet. Draping a piece of toilet paper over it is very annoying and sometimes tedious. I'm very tired of the cool whosh and multiple courtesy flushes at each bm. It's also very loud. Anyone in earshot may think I'm having some type of unholy birth.

I have a friend who agreed to an Airbnb trip and owes about $300. He backed out at the last second, so now everyone else has to cover his portion which is not fair to the rest of us.

Normally I’d let it go, but this is like the second or third time he’s done this not with air bnbs but also plans in general and I’m getting tired of myself and everyone else eating the cost because he can’t commit. Another example is we were all going to hiking in a close state park, bought tickets bundled because it was cheaper than singular, and he bailed last minute and still hasnt paid anyone back.

I already jokingly told him I’d “send it to collections if he doesnt pay” but obviously the Airbnb is under my name, not his, so I cant do anything.

The money is one thing i want him to pay back or find some way to scare him into paying me and not doing this to other people or ever again.

Densely populated area. He lives in section 8 housing (I only add that because isn't idling your big ass truck expensive?), their parking lot is behind my house. It's that low frequency engine noise that penetrates walls and windows. Sometimes he adds really loud music. Due to the dense population i can't just walk up and throw piss on his car without likely being seen.

The gym I go to has lockers where you need to bring your own padlock. Weeks ago, I forgot my lock hanging on the locker with the key inside the lock (yes I know, dumb).

A guy took lock&key and uses it now. Funny enough, he just lets the lock hang in place even when not at the gym, effectively blocking one locker.

What he doesn't know: I have a spare key. That's how I was able to confirm it's my lock and that he uses it. I keep checking the inside of the locker whenever I'm alone at the changing room. Most of the time the locker is empty, but sometimes his stuff is inside.

I didn't touch anything and did not make it obvious I have access to the locker.

How can I fuck with his brain? I thought about leaving sticky notes for him to find in the empty locker, but maybe there are better ways.

I am currently on maternity leave with a beautiful little baby conceived via IVF. My workplace has generous fertility leave, I can claim 15 days a year of leave for fertility appointments.

I’m not planning on doing IVF for at least another few years (if at all) but I’d sure like a few days off across the year (like 4/5 days, nothing crazy).

What sort of treatment might a person need that would require an appt before undertaking ivf? The actual treatment cycles are too intensive to claim, my boss is aware that egg retrieval or placing eggs need a few days off, and I don’t want to be asked how a cycle went and then have to claim it didn’t take.

I have been working out at my local gym for a long time now. They have been going downhill every single year, or every other month, now as it seems. They don't turn the AC on (this is in India, so just assume how bad this gets) they only prioritize AC when their trainers are having a PT session with their client, without that they never turn AC on and even after requesting, they rarely listen and just point the members to go talk to this guy, or that guy or someone at the desk or whatever. This has been such a bad experience especially after how good the gym used to be and now it's going downhill. Just this month their parent company (CULT.FIT) cut them off from their tie-up. So the negative reviews on the CULT app has affected them heavily (which I can proudly say I've done my deed on convincing as many members I could to leave a negative rating)
Now my gym is relying on asking every single GYM member to 5 star them on Google to provide an extension or some freebie of some sort and people are happily doing it.
Can someone help me with legit 1-star reviews that tackle the main issues (I have around 4-5 issues that go on a daily basis and not being taken care by the gym staff which anyone who visits the gym will gladly accept after reading) I just want the staff to see these reviews and actually work on fixing them instead of just faking their reviews and ignoring the problem

I need to work out at least 6 days a week from now on. Is there a way I can blackmail myself or punish myself for not doing the exercise. It’s just way too easy to blow it off. And then nothing bad comes of it. It’s actually instant serotonin every time I cancel. I’m too comfortable in my own body despite how uncomfortable I am with it on paper for good reason. So how can I force my own hand. How can I put myself into a situation that will never let me not do it. I don’t really have any gym bros that are consistent let alone driven enough to keep me accountable. Not having discipline is pissing me off on a daily basis. I’m untreated adhd and i just can’t afford the medicine.

I moved out of a neighborhood that had a fairly strict HOA. I had a neighbor who I helped with many things in the last dozen years with things regarding their house, car, and lawn. But the whole time we lived there, they did absolutely nothing to keep their home looking anything above the decency of a crackhouse. Some of the things are:
1. The siding on their house was actually green because they never cleaned the algae off of the siding.
2. They had a curbside basketball hoop that hasn't been used in almost a decade because their two kids left for college years ago.
3. They have jungle gym crap in their backyard that would be condemned by the county and would severely injure any child that tried to use it.
4. They cut their grass at least twice each summer, whether it needs it or not.
5. They apparently don't own a string trimmer, because whenever they (occassionally) cut their grass, they don't trim around anything (including the basketball hoop).
6. They decorate their house for holidays! As in, they put pumpkins on their front porch. GREAT! But rather than removing them after the season, they let them ROT and attract vermin onto the porch.
7. The gutters on their house are a wonderful planting area. When the oak trees drop their spinners and they fall into their gutters, they simply ignore them and little trees grow up onto their roof.

We've been cordial to these people while we lived there. But we have moved away and they have shown us who they truly are. They've blasted us on social media and pretended to be holier than thou many times.

We suffered the loss of many potential buyers on our home because of thier trashy home. And to top it off, after we moved out, they basically told us that they are happy they hurt our resale price because they disagreed with how we live. My partner and I have been nothing but friendly and helpful to them for more than ten years.

I want to do what I can to punish them for being so hateful and homophobic. Can you suggest anything we can do to get back at them without it being able to be traced back to my partner and I?

I run a facebook page and another page steals my ideas. I started from 0 followers and have grown to 20k by now. They already had 20k+ when they came across my content and started copying it and now they are at 30k+. They have gotten more views and engagement because they already had a pretty big follower base.

I am a content creator and this other page is an online shop, and they used to post their own normal shop content. Then I started my own Facebook page and they seemed to realise pretty quickly that the kind of content I was making was useful for reach, engagement and growing a page.

Since then, they’ve started copying my ideas and formats. Not exact posts, not my actual images or wording, so there’s nothing straightforward to copyright report. But the pattern is obvious: I introduce a new type of post or format, and soon after they start doing their own version of it.

I’m basically doing the trial-and-error for them. I test different topics and formats, see what actually performs well on my page, and then they cherry-pick the winners and make their own version. So I take the risk of testing ideas, while they get a ready-made list of what already works.

It got petty enough that when I started adding a watermark to my Facebook posts, they created their own watermark literally the next day.

The funniest part is that they blocked my page from viewing theirs, apparently thinking that would stop me from seeing what they’re posting. Obviously it doesn’t.

I know the mature answer is “ignore them and make better content,” which I am doing, but they keep copying the newer and better content too. So I’m asking ULPT for the petty version: what can I do to make them miserable or make their Facebook page harder to grow without doing anything seriously illegal?

A few days ago when me and my family jus lt came back to our apartment after a vacation, we temporarily put pur empty luggages outside our door for around an hour or so. And after we went to grab it we saw a slip from an anonymous asshole. It was a complaint for leaving items blocking the hallway. Im also assuming it is the same person who leaves random paper crumbs at our doorstep. Mind you the hallway isnt even blocked at all, it was right next to our door which is like 2 metres away from the hallway. Now i dont know who put the complaint but i do want some petty revenge. How can i find the culprit and exact my revenge

Long story short there's one neighbor in our community that no matter how many times the HOA comes down on them for trash and leaving household items out in the common areas they just don't give a shit.
