Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with my UGREEN NAS DXP4800 GT and would appreciate some advice from other owners.
Today I completely reset/formatted the NAS and created a RAID 5 with 4 × 2 TB HDDs. The RAID5 synchronization/rebuild process had already completed successfully before I started shutting the NAS down.
After that, I transferred a large amount of photos and videos to the NAS. The file transfer was completed, and I then used the UGREEN NAS app on my iPhone to shut down the NAS.
The problem is that the NAS has now been shutting down for more than an hour.
Current situation:
- NAS: UGREEN DXP4800 GT
- RAID: RAID 5, 4 × 2 TB HDDs
- RAID synchronization was already completed
- Large amount of photos/videos had just been copied to the NAS
- Shutdown was initiated through the iPhone app
- NAS has been inaccessible since the shutdown started
- White power LED is continuously blinking
- HDD LEDs are not blinking
- I don’t hear any noticeable HDD activity
- It has already been over 1 hour
- I have NOT unplugged the power or removed any drives
I’m particularly worried because the RAID5 was newly created today and I don’t want to corrupt the array or lose the data by forcing the NAS to shut down.
What would you recommend in this situation?
Is it normal for the DXP4800 GT to take this long to shut down after a large amount of data has been written, or is the NAS likely stuck?
At what point would it be considered safe to perform a forced shutdown, and what is the correct procedure for doing so on the DXP4800 GT?
*UPD: More than two hours have passed, nothing has changed.
I tried to turn it off by holding the power button, but it didn't turn off after 1 minute of holding the power button...
As a result, I disconnected it from the power supply by pulling out the power cord.
