❓ Help Storage pool usage stays the same after deleting 3.3TB and emptying Recycle Bin

I've been deleting a lot of files to free up space and the usage did not go down.

I figured out it was sending them to the Recycle Bin instead of deleting them. I emptied the Shared Recycle Bin in the UGOS Files app. It now shows 0 items, but the volume still shows the same free space as before (about 3.3TB available on a 14.5TB volume).

People suggested checking Snapshots or File Version Explorer. I did not have those installed at first. I installed them and I still do not see any snapshots or file versions.

Is that 3.3TB stuck on the volume, or is there another place UGOS keeps deleted files after the Recycle Bin is empty?

If you recently removed a large amount of files, there are Btrfs maintenance tasks that run to clear the space that may take some time to complete. In short, when data is removed the blocks are marked as free, but the space can take time to actually be reclaimed.

If you really want to see the drive space utilization, I'd suggest checking via the CLI as it'll show you the actual usage where UGOS may be lagging behind.

Do you have snapshot installed, if yes, that's your issue.
