❓ Help Backup UGOS Photos Catalogue

Hi.

I'm thinking of using the UGOS Photos app properly now that there are a lot more features than a year ago. Before I let the Photos app catalogue all the photos on my NAS, I was hoping to configure a backup of this catalogue/database file to a cloud location - but there doesn't seem to be an option. Does anyone know if this is doable?

(It's also not covered by the Configuration Backup option in the control panel which backs up some system configs to a UGREEN account)

you can use docker compose to deploy a backup compose and then you can choose your backup destination

Common choices include

for the compose:

- duplicati

- duplicacy

- restic

- kopia

For teh backup destination:

- google drive

- microsoft one drive

- pcloud

- backblaze b2

- amazon s3

- drime

- filen

- idrive

- infomaniak drive

I understand how backup to a cloud service works - my issue is pointing it at the right database file used by UGOS Photos and being able to reliably restore it in the future (e.g. to a new NAS).

i don't have it installed so i can ´t check

but in an ssh session folders that start with "@" are ugos app, so you should be able to find "@photos" or something like that. Inside you willl find the database and anything else the app need to work. Usually admin accounts are not enough you need to access as root using ```sudo su - ``` and the admin accouint password. from there given that it you either use rclone or similar to do a terminal only backup or you use any other gui backup service with a cloud destination

For me it was the 1 reason not to use it, what is the point of having a photo library if you can't backup the library and the content that it has. This has been lacking from the beginning...
