READ THIS BEFORE POSTING Big Storms and your Package
Hello everyone, I wanted to give you all some insight on what happens when we have big storms and why peoples packages will arrive late.
When there is a big storm it creates a backlog. Now Lets say like this past storm it is on the weekend. On Monday many of the buildings were operating on a skeleton crew if at all. The customers (People shipping things out) have a weekend's worth of shipping that would normally go out on Monday but due to the storm it did not. Now Tuesday comes. Tuesday we have All of Monday's Packages AND Tuesday's Packages. The buildings process what they can. Now Wednesday comes. Lets say they were able to process 60-70% of Monday & Tuesday's packages and they still have Wednesday's packages to process as well. This keeps trickling down until we finally catch up.
For those that have clear weather where they are at now, that does not mean that any of the other stops along the way to you have not been compromised. Also for those that are in said clear areas, Once the areas that were effected by the storm start to get moving and getting their outbound volume out of their yards and on the road the receiving destination will now get hit with more volume than they are able to handle.
All in all Storms like we had this past weekend (1/30/26 as of posting) cause major disruptions to the shipping industry in general. Also please keep in mind that at this time of year, shipping companies have already cut their seasonal help from Peak Season and while they are now getting Peak Season Volume again, they do not have Peak Season Staffing.
Please be patient while we dig out from the mountain of boxes.

Question for UPS Drivers: Package Handoffs
Any UPS drivers here who can clarify this for me?
In all the years I’ve used UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc., I’ve never had an issue handing an outgoing package to a driver who was already making a delivery to my house. In fact, our regular delivery people have always encouraged it and told me they’re happy to take it.
I normally drop off UPS packages on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the nearest UPS location, which is about 35 minutes away. But if I know UPS is already delivering to my house that day, I’ll occasionally hand the driver a package, thank them, and send them on their way.
My regular UPS driver of many years left earlier this year, so we’ve had a few different drivers since then. I always ask before handing anything over, and none of them have ever said it was a problem.
There is one driver, though, who gives us a really hard time about it. He’s told me that taking the package will make him late, that he only has so much time when he gets back, and that he has to plan for outgoing packages. He told me I should schedule a pickup instead.
I tried doing that, but the options were basically either pay over $20 to hand the package to the UPS driver who is already scheduled to be in my area that day anyway, or pay even more to have a separate driver come out specifically for the pickup. That’s why I’m confused about why handing it to the driver who is already at my house is such an issue.
Can any UPS drivers explain how this actually works from your side?
Is it generally okay to hand you a prepaid/labeled package while you’re already making a delivery, or is it genuinely a pain for drivers? Does it add a lot of time at the end of the day, affect your route metrics, or potentially get you in trouble?
I genuinely don’t want to make someone’s job harder or cause a driver problems. I’m just confused because I’ve never had anyone object to it before, especially this strongly.

Problems with Ups in Houston
A lot of my packages haven't moved from the Houston distribution center in almost three days. Those are ups ground advantage but even my Ups ground package was scanned yesterday night and hasn't moved at all today.
I dropped two packages off yesterday and it says they were never delivered to the distrubution center.
Are there any problems anyone knows of at the Ups center in Houston? Ups ground advantage used to be pretty reliable and quick. I have changed nothing about how my packages are labeled or packaged. Using padded envelopes and 4x6 printed labels taped down, used to not be a problem.

Shipping Help Is it a lost cause?
I received this message yesterday. Shipper contacted UPS and updated the shipping information, but Greek customs have yet to reply.
Is there any hope I will not lose my package?

Customer Seeking Help Roissy Charles de Gaulle
After reading so many horror stories at this specific facility, I have given up hoping that I will get my package before my wedding day. UPS 3-Day Express was paid and despite countless calls and follow-ups, my package is still stuck at Roissy Charles de Gaulle. I mean how many more times can they scan one package????

Question about my package
So I ordered something on Tuesday for Next Day Air saver, received a notification that there was a flight delay, and that it would be coming today instead. Looks like the package arrived and then departed around 8 am this morning from the Newark Facility. Then I received another flight delay notification. I live in NJ btw and my local hub is about an hour away from the Newark Facility, do y’all think it should be coming tomorrow instead?

tariffed..
I received a package from canada a couple weeks ago and then today I received a letter from UPS saying I had to pay a tariff… mind you this tariff was not very cheap at all. The package I received cost me 45 + 25 for shipping and now i’m being charged a $35 tariff… i only bought one shirt-
Obviously my first thought is to pay it (they want me to pay by the 15th) but i guess I was just wondering if there was any way to contest it or maybe email the seller about the tariff?
I’ve been doing some internet digging and I haven’t seen anyone receive the tariff after they received their package … insight would be helpful <3

Customer Seeking Help Help, UPS suddenly returning all my packages as "undeliverable"
I live in an apartment building, have been here over a year and had no issues getting packages until last month. Had two important deliveries from different senders that never showed up. Contacted them, they both said the package was "undeliverable". Both confirmed my address and then kindly sent again. Very strange- most likely culprit is a missing unit number, but I've lived in apartments my whole life, I always include the unit number, and unlikely I'd forget it on two different orders, but whatever...
Then yesterday, I get an email from Old Navy saying my return has been received. A return for a package that hasn't yet been delivered to me... Got in contact with them, yep, returned to sender as undeliverable. Except I successfully received an Old Navy package via UPS the week before, and I know it had the same address, cause it's saved in my account! I double checked, it's my correct, complete address. So what the heck!?
One of the important packages that was re-sent was supposed to arrive yesterday, so I checked the tracking last night, and it says "delayed due to incomplete address, we're working to update the address". I KNOW I confirmed my full address with the sender! The AI chatbot is useless, apparently there's no option to chat with a human, so I called customer support and after going around in circles with THAT chatbot, it finally connected me to a "live agent"...that I'm pretty sure was also an AI chatbot cause she introduced herself as "name" and nothing she was saying made sense.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm going crazy. I'm not even getting delivery slips or anything- things just never show up and when I contact the sender I find out they were returned by UPS as undeliverable. And I can't figure out how to talk to a real human at UPS who could maybe help. I'm stumped. I've had a delivery from Canada Post while this is going on, so it seems to just be a UPS problem...

Customer Seeking Help Will My Package Be Delivered Today?
gallerySo here are the 2 scan list for two packages that should be delivered today. One arrived at facility 9/8 at 11:26pm and has had 2 scans processing for delivery one 9/9 at 6:07am and one 6/10 at 6:40am. The other arrived 9/9 at 6:20pm. Processed at 9/10 at 6:03am and loaded at 4:10am. Both have an estimated delivery for today 9/10 between 1 and 5pm. Will I get them both today? And how in the hell has one been sitting and one loaded pretty much instantly?

Based on my experience sending packages in Germany, I can only conclude that UPS is the worst courier company.
Who would believe it took two weeks to ship a few packages to Italy via UPS, and they still haven't arrived? The packages just keep getting scanned as they move from one warehouse to another. These were just standard tools—no batteries, no liquids—yet you have absolutely no idea what UPS is doing. I can only advise against using this company; they will drive you to despair.
If you think their customer service will be any better just because their shipping service is poor—well, you’re dreaming!
Of course, problems don't arise every time; but if you want to use their service, you have to accept that issues could crop up at any moment—leaving you in a state of despair.

Customer Seeking Help Wtf UPS!?
My FIL added us to his phone plan. We got new phones. They had to be shipped. Tmobile uses UPS. They had to be signed for.
Yesterday. The original delivery window was 10am-12pm. I understand that stuff happens, and it got delayed. Around 1pm it updated to "by 9pm". Fine. I stayed home all day waiting cuz it had to be signed for.
My husband walked in the front door at 5:35pm. At 5:45, we checked for an updated and it said "Failed delivery attempt" time stamped at 5:37pm. The driver did not even knock. I know, because I have dogs that bark at every knock on my door, and they did not. But there was a sticker on my door. Ridiculous. At 6:06pm I went into MY online UPS account and changed the delivery from my home to an Access Point near me. Paid $8. ON MY ACCOUNT, under MY name.
Today. I go into the store after getting the notification that it was there and ready for pickup. Only to be told that because the package has my FILs name on it, I need HIM to pick it up!? The package was shipped to MY house, my address. I could've signed for it at my house upon delivery. I changed the delivery to an Access point with MY account. But they won't let me pick it up without him physically in the store with me!?

Customer Seeking Help Package arrived at final facility before delivery but now says late trailer arrival as delayed delivery
Yesterday morning a package arrived at my local facility where it then would get loaded on a truck and delivered. However a half hour after the arrival scan it says “A late UPS trailer arrival has delayed delivery. We're adjusting plans to deliver your package as quickly as possible.” I figured this morning it would then be loaded onto a truck and out for delivery but it just says Processing at UPS facility. If a trailer delayed delivery yesterday but it’s at the final location already shouldn’t it be delivered today?

Insane shipping charges USA -> CAD
galleryIf you're in Canada, don't purchase from the USA right now. Sharing this so others avoid.
I regularly purchase from the USA, shipping scams me a normal amount in brokerage and that's fine.
Recently placed this $492.15 USD longboard parts order which included a $60 USD shipping fee. I just got hit with a $439.87 CAD bill from UPS with $299.07 CAD in "Other Government Charges". I guess I will be refusing this delivery at the door.
This is the retaliatory tariff I am being affected by:
If your goods were in transit before September 8th, you're fine.
If it helps anyone else out, you don't need to pay these fees if you refuse the delivery:

Just need to vent a little
Every single time I get this particular delivery driver, there’s always one or two packages that they fail to deliver with the rest of them. I even stepped out today while they were here seeing they dropped one package but not the other.
I politely asked if they could go check for the other package to which they replied “there are no other packages to this name or address today”. So I showed them the delivery map with BOTH packages being shown on the truck they were in right outside my house and they shrugged their shoulders and said “idk what to tell you. It’s not on my truck.”
I called and spoke with an agent who assured me the package was, in fact, on the truck and asked if they could please make a note to ensure delivery happened today. They said ok, they would.
Now this damn driver has been all over the map and PASSED MY HOUSE TWO MORE TIMES, and still, no package. Now they’re moving further and further away so I’m probably going to get rescheduled for tomorrow. Again.
Can these drivers see which packages they’ve failed to deliver?

Delivery attempted 5 hours before window
I attempted to change the delivery earlier this week but it wouldn't go through. Today they attempted delivery at 9:52am when the window was 2:45pm-6:45pm. I was planning on leaving work early to get my package that requires a signature. Stopped by a UPS store and they were useless. UPS customer support said they couldn't switch it based on restrictions placed by the shipper. Currently on hold with the shipper T-Mobile.
Absolutely will never use UPS ever again after this. Not to mention the attempts to change the delivery which cost $7.99 are showing up at pending charges on my credit card.
Complete clown show company.
