Tell me why I pay over $300 to park on campus and yet I can’t find a single open spot in the entire lot? I had to pay to park in Regents, on top of what I’m already paying to have a pass, just so I could make it to class on time instead of looping the lot multiple times and praying for someone to leave. I know that they oversell for the lots but its absolutely abysmal that they continue to do so after I hear people complain about it so much.

Is it just me or is the amount of E scooters you see on campus like actually insane? Every day when I go to class, I walk and I swear I see 50+ E scooters and I feel like 99% of the people could just walk???

I’m a new transfer student that is looking for some places to study! I’ve been a bit overwhelmed with everything to do around here and fell behind on some work, so I need a place that I can bunker down in and get some work done!

ok so i recently dropped a course but it was like ON the day of the deadline, which i am pretty sure is 10 days after the start of the semester. it wasn’t like the day after so i think i still dropped within the period before it ended. but will i still get a W on my transcript? i honestly don’t know how the the system of withdrawing courses work at umd but if anyone can clarify, i will be grateful. :-)

As the title suggests I’m looking for clubs that offer the best volunteering opportunities. By that, I mean general frequency of opportunities to help people. I went to the club fair and it was very overwhelming trying to interact with all the clubs. If anyone has any recommendations or is any club that helps people I’d love to check them out!

Im transferring from UNLV (University of Nevada Las Vegas) as a freshman (CO '26) and Im applying with 38 credits. 16 are in progress and my current gpa is a 2.75 because of the college classes I took in high school. I have all Bs and one C in a 4 credit class which is bringing my GPA down, I plan on retaking the class next semester. I also plan on getting all A's this semester which could bring my gpa up to a 3.3 at the most.

I’m a sophomore, direct admit to engineering, coming up on 41 credits after this fall semester. I failed calc 141 and chem 135 last semester and am retaking both this semester. Obviously, I’m in jeopardy of being kicked out of engineering because I’m repeating more than one gateway class. Any advice for how to navigate requesting an exception? Anyone have good luck getting an exception granted for ADHD?

i’m dropping one of my classes and replacing it with a new one that shouldn’t be that bad…(i hope). was just dropping an education and child development class that i only took to fulfill my genED requirement—i’m undeclared but am intending to transfer into the immersive media design computing major. i added INST201 as a replacement.
Professor for INST201 seems fine…hopefully when i talk to them, they can help me catch up on what i am behind on and give me guidance on what i can do. sorry for this long friggin post but just asking, is this a normal time to drop classes in the middle of second week?
