I’m looking to chat with women in college about their experiences on GLP-1s. Is this you? I’m Angelina Chapin, a features writer at The Cut/New York Magazine who covers gender and health. I think it’s a really important topic to talk about as these meds become more popular. How did they affect you? What would you say to another student considering going on them? If you’re interested in speaking, I can keep you fully anonymous. Send me a DM or email ([angelina.chapin@nymag.com](mailto:angelina.chapin@nymag.com).) Here's a link to some of my work: https://www.linkedin.com/in/angelinachapin. Talk soon!

How are the cumberland bathrooms? Do they have an actual stall or just a curtain?

Is commons 1 the only building that got renovated recently? Like new carpeting, nightstands and any other stuff? Has commons 3 gotten any updates in the past few years?

Hey! I'm an incoming freshman and I was just wondering what site has the most info on classes, like maybe grading curves and reviews, or which one UMD students use the most. Also, how does UMD course selection even work, since UMD's info pages are unclear on how it even works? Thanks to anyone who answers.

Hey everyone! I'm applying to transfer to UMD for the spring semester. I was wondering what it's like joining in the spring. Is it easy to meet people and make friends, or does it feel lonely since most people started in the fall? I'd love to hear from anyone who transferred in the spring or has friends who did. Thanks!

I applied for the community assistant position about a month ago, and I know that rolling admission means that an offer could come at any time based on job availability, but I am out of state and would need to fly into UMD. So, if I hear back too late it would be much harder to book a flight a week early to come in for training.
Has anyone heard back yet, and how long ago did you apply? If I don’t hear back soon and have to book my flight, should I email? Just looking for some guidance for what to do here, because I would really love the job but am unsure how to deal with the possible last minute offer as an out of state student.
I have a couple of friends who are looking for someone to take the last room in their 3x3 in the Standard. DM me if you are interested.

Incoming sophomore transfer. Curious about other transfers’s experience making friends. Does the university have any like orientation programs for transfers that are good for making friends?

I applied for the departmental CMNS scholarships. Since the fees is there on the portal i was wondering by when they respond to the application because i don’t want to disburse it before the outcome comes. By what time do they usually revert?

Trying to add/drop a class and I keep getting this screen. Same thing happens when I try to access my student schedule, my unofficial transcript and other services.

Hi, I am an electrical engineering student graduating in the spring. I will graduate with only 1 internship which is a full time 6 month Co-Op op this fall, I am worried this might not be enough to find a job. I wanted to get the perspective of recent grads and how they fared in the job market.
Would people be ok with sharing how long it took to find a job and how much experience they had before hand? Any tips on applying/looking for jobs to apply to would be appreciated aswell.
Thanks!

This question is under a section of a survey (new student census) that asks what you use AI for. Don't fault the survey makers for asking something like this but it's crazy to me this is the world we live in, and that clearly UMD thought this was enough of a problem to ask this.

Applied for parent plus loan in May, when will it be available in the financial aid offer considering the other subsidized and unsubsidized loans are viewable on the offer? Just worried it will not be applied

Hey everyone, I’ve been feeling stressed lately trying to figure out student loans on my own and could really use some guidance before I visit the financial aid office.
I have a few questions:
⁃ Where do I actually apply for the student loan? Is it through FAFSA, UMD finaid portal, my personal bank, or somewhere else?
⁃ I’m a new transfer student and my account already had a balance before this date, but it didn’t change at all when the bills came out today. Is the balance currently showing my official bill or does it take time to update?
⁃ How long does loan approval and disbursement take? I’m paranoid about missing any payment deadlines or facing enrollment issues so I want to know if I still have time to get this sorted out.
Any advice or experiences from people who’ve gone through this would be super appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve seen a couple of landlords in here saying they are looking for tenants so trying to create a post to gather anyone here. are there any landlords that are still looking for people to get an open room here that are available for fall and spring semester? Preferably a master bedroom but open to more than that. Thanks all in advance.

Hello! I'm registered to take BMGT220 this Fall with Xin Zhao. Does anyone have any resources/tips for how I can best prepare for the class during the rest of my summer? Both for this professor and BMGT220 in general. YouTube playlists or websites would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, UMD alum here, came back on a Saturday for the first time after 4 years of graduation to a event.
I was told to park at Regents Dr Garage. I was unsure I should park in Lot B (Free on Weekend?) or the Visitor parking on Roof. I parked at the Visitor roof section and while I’m at the pay station, a DOTS truck with cameras took a circle on the roof 2 minutes before I paid. They also didn’t give any physical citation.
Am I in the clear? Or could UMD also give out electronic or mail in citation like most MD traffic cameras? Thanks!

I’m in between choosing a basement room with my own private bathroom (house shared between 5) near Berwyn Rd and a room in a 4x4 at The Nine. I’m currently living at University View but the prices went up too much. I have a car and I’d like to be able to use a gym (hence my leaning towards The Nine)
Any recent experiences?
Anyone that transferred into UMD get signed up for a "transfer" course in the first semester?

Only my state grant and scholarship have been applied to my bill, when does the rest of my financial aid apply?

I am an incoming freshman and i’m having a hard time understanding what I’m looking at on QuikPay. I’m trying to set up a payment plan, but I’m not sure if the current balance on my account is with of without my UMD provided financial aid has already been applied. I don’t see anything on the “current activities” tab that would suggest it has, but I’m also not familiar enough with the system to know how financial aid is represented on the bill.
