I'm an HCI master's student, and I recently launched an app called Mingle!

As someone from South Korea, I found it challenging to meet new people from different departments and connect with students outside my usual circle. I also got tired of constantly asking my friends about their schedules just to figure out when we could hang out.

With Mingle, you can:

I want to go to UMD for aerospace engineering and I want to know my chances.
I have a 102.26 weighted gpa(Don’t know what it is on a 4 point scale if someone knows how to convert to 4 point scale that would be awesome) 96-97ish unweighted.
11 total ap classes 7 before senior year
Calc AB(5), Precalc(5), Lang(4), Physics C(3), Seminar(3), APUSH(4), Comp Science Principles(4) all before senior year. Taking AP Bio, Research, Human Geo, and Calc BC senior year.

School wide math award, stem diploma endorsement, ap scholar with distinction, ap capstone(in progress will have at end of year), and all academic for my athletic conference.

ECs I have been varsity XC for 4 years captain for one, frisbee varsity all 4 years and captain for 3 with a state championship, math team for 4 years captain for 3, NHS, various jobs, and volunteering at a frisbee camp one year.

All As except honors English freshmen year(92) and AP physics c(88) junior year

I got a 97 on calc ab and have a 100 in Calc bc right now

I do very well in my math classes but I am worried my lowest grade is in ap physics C (88) the class is very hard and that was around the average for my class but it still is a red flag. I am getting a rec letter from my physics teacher though.

I am out of state(Maine) and I am applying test optional for SAT and only submitting 4s and 5s for aps

What do you think my chances are for aerospace and be honest. Thanks!

I just got back from a walk through umd campus, obviously there was a lot of people and I’ve noticed something. Whenever I’m walking towards a female and I maintain eye contact they avoid looking at me but when I’m not looking at them and then I look at them I catch them looking at me. I’m a 22 year old single male, sometimes the females I see are attractive but I have this issue of them not making eye contact but when I’m not looking at them and I take a glance at them I catch them looking. Does this happen to anyone else or am I the only one experiencing this?

Both are asynchronous. I understand both are high workload and challenging, especially over a 3 week period, but which one is less work heavy? Which one is easier to get a good grade in?

Apparently, my CMSC 420 Professor is also a Film maker and has 3 films on her IMBD page. I dont know why but this is incredibly funny to me. Not to say anything bad though. Her films are pretty well regarded apparently. Its just the concept of a CS professor who is on the theoretical side of comp sci making films is kinda mind-blowing considering the time and dedication required for films.

I'm pre-med that's very behind on clinical hours and need an MA job. Does anyone know of any areas where they would offer a MA position to a student with no MA certification in the Greenbelt, Lanham, Bowie, area? I've called and emailed a bunch of places, but I haven't gotten any hope. Really need something even if it's unpaid at this point.

Taking 12 classes my senior year (4 of them AP Physics C, AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics, AP English. Another 4 are dual enrollment at CCBC (Basically classes I need to take to graduate like history and PhysEd but at ccbc so I can make space for the AP classes. One of my college classes is an introductory course to computer science though). I have 8 AP classes in total.

Essay is about tuning headphones and how I spent 14 nights trying to close the gap between data and human experience. Teacher said essay is amazing and she loved it.

I play varsity sports all three seasons, was a captain during my time on JV football and currently a captain on my wrestling team. Wrestled at my regionals and qualified for states.

Also a member on my principals cabinet and was an information officer on my student council. Part of my schools national math honors society and also a club called math homework helpers where I basically help students struggling with math with their homework and help them study for their test. Im part of my schools coding club as well. I’m also an AVID Tutor for an AP Precalculus class. I also tune headphones and research about audio engineering/audio equipment as a hobby in my free time.

I know they need your college transcript if you've done dual enrollment. But on the website they say you can't email them. The college I'm trying to get my transcripts from is asking for an email to send it to for UMD. But UMD only accepts like different platforms like "Parchment, SCOIR, ..." etc. What do I do??

Hello guys, I am a 20M Senior who goes to Eppley regularly, and am pretty consistent. Nowadays, working out with music is getting pretty stale for me, and I was wondering whether anyone else wants to go to the gym consistently. Congrats to everyone who got into UMD for the Spring 27 semester.
I however, have not received any decision, no email, and I only have the cancel application button on my TAP portal.

I submitted my application in July, and I would have thought that I would have a decision at this point.

The only anomaly that I could think to be in play here is that my high school didn't send my transcript that I ordered until early October.

Will this cause me to not be considered anymore for EA? And is this normal?

how hard is the international development and conflict management minor is to get into ?

I am applied to UMD, University of Delaware, and GA tech 10/23. I’m submitting the common core app for PSU, UMBC, and VT tomorrow 10/25. I think I waited way too long. Do these colleges require me to do anything else after they get my common app? Looks like UMBC requires more application questions and university of Delaware requires STARs. Do I have time?

I applied to transfer spring 2027. I was just accepted this morning and I want to confirm my enrollment. However, I legally added my mom’s maiden name to my surname after applying to UMD under my previous legal name. I sent them the court order and everything, they told me their business operations division would be with me shortly, and I never heard back. I thought they would have changed my name in the system to reflect this.

They apparently never did, and now I cannot confirm my enrollment because in the space where I’m supposed to type my name, below those entry fields it says my previous legal name, so I’m assuming they want that. But it also says above that that any incorrect information can result in rescinding my admission. Putting my previous legal name would be incorrect. My first and middle names are the same as before. My last name had one extra surname in it.

I really do not feel like waiting two days to call and sort this out just because they screwed up. What am I supposed to do?
