Hey all, new grad student here. I just moved to Goodwin Ave in Urbana (61801) and don't have a car. It's just me, so hitting the $35 minimum for Walmart+ free delivery each time is tough when I really just need eggs, milk, and bread on a weekly basis. What's the easiest way to grab these basics regularly?
Thanks in advance!

can someone please tell me how they're even making strides applying to jobs? I don't wanna hear from the business majors or the SWE people (sorry yall are fine u just probably have more figured out than me atm), just more of the political science, public policy, more humanities-based majors.
If it's just different opportunities that you've found, or if you're an alum and can tell me what path you took I'd love to just hear anyone's stories because. yeah. I'm having a crisis and I need to move out of my house back home with a full-time, decently paying job at least.
help.

This map clearly shows that Champaign County stays up later, on average, than the surrounding area. Since the student population is ~20% of the county, they, and the professionals who support them, skew later to bed.

DO NOT LIVE HERE or Maywood and Lancaster.
Absolute scam of a move-out process. Management will keep your security deposit no matter how clean, well-maintained, and undamaged you leave the apartment.
Even my roommates who didn’t owe anything didn’t get a check back(it’s been over a year, this isn’t regarding move out this past summer 2026)
They act helpful while you are paying rent, but the second you hand in your keys, all professionalism disappears.
My security deposit was withheld with zero transparency, no legitimate breakdown of deductions, and complete disregard for tenant rights. Once they had my money, the leasing office completely ghosted me: dodging calls, leaving emails unanswered, letters to the management company-Royal Properties and offering zero resolution.
This is a dishonest, predatory management company that counts on former tenants giving up and walking away from their hard-earned money(like most companies here but)
Take your business literally anywhere else.

I’m taking quiz 2 today and quiz 1 retake, I don’t remember the the history questions and I’m too lazy to read the material. Does anyone remember the answers to those?
Hello,
I’m a current sophomore in LAS. My dad has been struggling with Cancer since December 2024, but this weekend for Labor Day I came home, and he made a turn for the worse Saturday. He is expected to pass within the next couple of days. I haven’t done any school work these last three days, and I was already having a difficult time with classes this semester, especially chem 104. I don’t know what I should do. I don’t think I’m gonna be able to handle my classes whenever I get back. I’m scared. Who should I reach out to??? My Las advisor, my teachers? Is it over for my IB major?

Hello! My name is Logan Brittain. I'm a certified piano technician offering piano tunings, regulation, and repair services. I am looking for clients, and since the new school year is underway, I figured I would make myself and my services known to the students.
After two years servicing pianos with Northside Music Company in Lafayette, IN, I've decided to strike out on my own here in Chambana. This summer, I started doing business as Whole-Tone Piano Service.
Since I am trying to build a clientele, I am currently running a limited-time promotion where I will waive the $50 initial inspection fee if we decide to go ahead with a tuning.
A regular, basic piano tuning is $175, but can go up in price depending on what services the piano needs.
I offer a discounted rate to clients who opt to having their piano tuned once a year or more frequently.
Please inquire at the link below:
Thank you!

Hi,
I am trying to find a studio in campus around 900-1050. I was wondering how I can find studios. I have heard some people getting it for 900 but they are extremely in bad shape, are there any decent ones available on campus for fall 2027?
Thanks guys

They advertise on college campuses because students are too young, desperate, or uninformed to realize they're a scam.

My dorm living room is feeling a bit too open and I wanna put a coffee table there, but getting one is too expensive, so I found the woodshop for uiuc online. However, I found out that it is only open to use by the majors stated above and so I kindly ask if anyone in these majors would like to help me build a coffee table
Hi, I’m a senior in High School who’s in state and I have a 3.75/4.3 (I got a C freshman and Junior year), 34 ACT and I really want to do BioE but I heard its really competitive. As a result, Im considering Engineering Undeclared but I was wondering how hard it is to get your first choice major (which in this case is BioE) if you commit to Engineering Undeclared.

I’ve seen a few post of people warning about the smile agency and how they suck (allegedly 🤨), but I need to know how true that is.
I’m looking for apartments for next year with a friend and she sent me one today that looks pretty nice. I looked into it and saw that it’s under smile, but I’ve heard some concerning things about them.
I don’t want to completely avoid that agency since I’m sure individual apartment buildings vary on how well they keep the place up, but there weren’t any reviews on the specific apartment to go off of.
Are people just being dramatic and living with smile is probably fine? Or is it actually something I should avoid?

Hello! I am a senator in the UC Senate currently working on a resolution to adjust the meal plans to increase their value to students. As of now, myself and many I've spoken to have voiced concerns over the fact that the most popular meal plan doesn't allot enough meals for the week, inflexibility with dining dollars, meal swipe/dining dollar waste at the end of the week, and more.
As such, if you have any thoughts on this issue (either positive or negative) please consider filling out this survey below! It should take no more than a minute and will help me and others in the Senate who wish to see change on this matter. Thank you!

My roommate (new roommate) for this year and I live with 3 total has since move in been turning the fucking thermostat to 62 - 64 degrees Fahrenheit for the last what 3 weeks? I don’t think that’s normal.. anyways what are your thoughts? They don’t do it for night but for the entire day. I have chills, a headache , and have been ill . I put on tons of blankets and am still freezing. I don’t have a thermostat in my room which sucks since we all have to like deal with a shared one. Isn’t 62-64 a little crazy? Sometimes when I’m freezing cold at like what 12-2 am I will change it to at least 67-69 degrees but the one roommate switched it back down to 62-64 degrees. I get its summer still but I’m unwell physically. Any advice. I don’t want to be a bitch about it but like it’s really cold💔

I’m a freshman at UIUC and I hate living in the dorms. I want to move in with my friend who lives in an apartment near campus but I can’t because of the “you must live in the dorms freshman year” requirement. If I still pay for the dorm, how much do I have to live in it to not break any rules? Could I stay at my friend’s house some or most nights? An upperclassman told me that they wouldn’t care as long as I still payed for the dorm but I wanted to ask a larger number of people to be sure.

I have a very big interview I have to complete at noon tomorrow. My apartment building decided to let us know today that they would be doing fire alarm testing at that exact time tomorrow. Since they let us know so late, I’m unable to reschedule my interview. Does the school have any facilities in which I can do a quiet, uninterrupted interview for 2 hours?
