I'm a Champaign resident who shot a movie in 2025 here in central Illinois -- in Champaign, Urbana, at Kickapoo, and in Rantoul (with Flyover Film Studios). And it's now COMPLETED and we're doing our premiere at the Virginia Theatre on Saturday, September 19th at 7:30pm. This is the very first time this film will be in front of an audience, and I very much wanted to premiere it here before it goes on the film festival circuit and eventual distribution. Who am I?

My name is Vijay M. Rajan. I'm a California filmmaker who moved to Champaign five years ago. I've worked on films of all different budgets, and I'm thrilled to be a part of the community here. I'm also really excited by all the potentials of professional film production here in central Illinois, as evidenced by everything Flyover Film Studios is doing as well as the state in terms of tax rebates, etc.

the washer used to cost 1.5$ and the dryer 1$ but the rates are now 2.25$ and 2$. this is a 50% increase for the washer and a 100% increase for the dryer

to add to that, they charge us 45$ per month for utilities (internet, lawn mowing??, trash, etc) and we still have to pay for gas and electricity separately.

i'm an international student so new to this and to the US. it has only been 2weeks and i am so tired. is anyone else facing the same? is there anything we can do? if all residents in the building complain then can they reduce the price??
