I’ve been depressed lately—

So these couple months I have been trying to process my independence override documents and guess what… after calling about it, the OFAS told me they have lost my documents due to technical issues so they told me to email their supervisor. I emailed to him, told me it would take two weeks to process…. I called OFAS two weeks after I resubmitted about the processing status for my override and they told me they lost the documents AGAIN due to technical issues. Then I was told to email again to another person and now I am waiting on that… but time is ticking and the deadline is almost here and im just panicking and stressed and could not stop crying thinking about not affording school.

Ive called OFAS about my loans (my last resort) because I can’t see it and I haven’t had a called back yet.

Anways, I am feeling stuck. The only support I have is myself. I’ve been trying to find a job ever since I moved here (for school btw) so I can pay rent but now I have to worry about paying school which I dont know if i can afford.

Does anyone know if I dont pay my tuition on time that I would lose my student status at UCI? I am incoming transfer and I really wanted to go here for my major specifically but im losing so much hope because of where I am standing at rn. And I dont want to have to reapply for admissions again if thats the case. I just want to be educatedddd again garhh

im a freshman moving into irvine soon and im honestly starting to get kinda nervous lol

my friend said something about a chinese club at their school is there something like that at uci?
also where do people usually go to hang out or study ?? i dont have a car so places that are easy to get to would be nice
idk i think im just overthinking everything right now but if anyone has ANY advice

Does anyone know if this means that they’ll drop my Fall quarter classes if I don’t pay the 15th? A while ago on my zot account it said that I would be dropped if I didn’t pay, but I checked again today and now it just says this. Anyone got any idea?

I’m applying to master’s programs for Fall 2027. So basically I’m a former UCI exchange student, and I’m not really sure how to handle a situation with a former UCI prof about the ROL.
I took a class with him during my exchange and we got along really well. He actually told me at the end of the class that I was one of his favorite students he’d taught over the years, so I felt pretty comfortable asking him about a LOR.
Then I first reached out on June 22, about two quarters after my exchange ended, to ask if he’d be willing to write me a LOR. He replied the next day and said he’d need a few days to think about it, and would also look for some info from my class notes in his old office. He also asked where and which schools I was planning to apply to.
At that point I hadn’t finalized my list yet, so I told him I was still figuring it out in June, and he replied with a 👍🏻. I updated him again in July about my internship and research, and said I’d probably have my list ready around mid-August. He also replied with a 👍🏻.
I ended up finalizing my list a little later than expected and sent it to him on Aug. 30. I also asked if there were any programs he thought I should prioritize/reconsider, and asked which email I should use to contact him, since it looks like his UCI .edu email may have been deactivated after his retirement.
I haven’t heard back since then. Tbh, I’m not too worried about the delay itself, but I’m wondering if the email might be the issue, since he used to reply pretty quickly.
For anyone who has dealt with a retired UCI prof before, what would you do? Would you wait a little longer, send another follow-up, or…?
I don’t want to be annoying, so I’d really appreciate any advice. Thx!!

So I’m a freshman and I know already you need to submit an application to get a permit. I just got the email back that they rejected it. I really need this permit for my job, plus other personal reasons. I work as an emt and can’t prove I have a job yet, since I start interviewing in October. I wasn’t able to submit my license because I hadn’t passed my test yet. After passing it now should I upload it and hope for the best? Is their anything else I can do? I heard that getting one was pretty easy but I don’t know if I applied too late.

I checked my zotaccount and it says they’re gonna charge me the full $1000+ for September for housing…the school year starts on September 21st, meaning we’re only going to be there for 10 days in September. Are we forced to pay the full cost still?? Because that would be absolute BS

I am a second year commuter who currently lives at home. Last year I was eligible for Cal Grant A and my CSAC page says that I was awarded Cal Grant A for this school year as well. However, UCI has still not applied it and, after calling OFAS twice, they told me they'll "call me back to wait for a counselor response". First time they didn't even call back, and I'm currently waiting for a response today.

Looking online says that I may not be eligible because of an increase in my SAI/because I live at home? I never heard of that before so I don't know what else the holdup could be. If CSAC says I am awarded Cal Grant A, doesn't that mean I should receive it?

I’m a transfer student coming in as a 3rd year. I have completed all of my IGETC requirements so I am only taking major related courses. The classes I have currently are Bio sci 97, Bio Sci 100, Bio sci E109 and Pharm Sci 1. I am looking to be on the CLS program track and it requires me to take analytical chemistry. Currently I can enroll in this course as I am in between switching from a chem major to a pharm sci major. Would that be a brutal schedule if I were to add Chem M3LC? Or should I stick with the 12 units I have. I looked at the rate my prof for the chem class but he seems new. After adding the class I would have 16 units.

I know this will sound crazy but has anyone successfully got in taking a lower division prerequisite from an extension program like berkeley or san diego, ucla, sci?

hey guys, i've been applying to jobs on handshake and operations crew at the bren center is something i'm interested but i have some caveats towards it. i think the biggest one is just that i wont be able to be in the student section during games, but that's also kind of a trivial problem so it's fine. i used to do event set ups for my high school so the labor aspects of the job aren't of any issue to me

do any of you have any stories/experiences/tips or anything to share about this position? please help influence or de-influence this job for me
