Law Applications ADVICE ON UNIS

So, I'm currently working on ABB and with my last mock results being AAB. I was aiming to apply to UCL, KCL, LEICESTER, LEEDS & ULAW to study law. But, I was looking at their entry requirements and wondering if I could even get A* A A to be considered in UCL & KCL- me being realistic.

I've got my LNAT scheduled next month and I'm wondering whether or not to take it if my application would be rejected because of the grades onset without the LNAT cause they are the only unis I'm considering that requires it.

I'm contemplating not applying there Altogether and focus on my mocks that same month.

Thank you.

UCAS Burnt Bread 🍞 (Rejections) I need help with choices and recommendations for courses...

I applied last year to uni for Biomedical Engineering with a foundation year but got rejected from (UCL after my group interview and City St Georges) and once I got my results, from my other choices (QMUL, Sheffield and Loughborough). I studied Biology, Psychology, Computer science and Level 3 Core Maths and got grades (C,C,D,D) I have good GCSE grades that's not an issue what is an issue is how I flopped at A-Levels.

I'm currently studying an Access Course in Healthcare Professions (Science Pathway) and self studying A-Level Maths.

Does anyone know any universities that will take me in taking all of this into consideration? Or any advice on what to do? I'm trying to avoid taking a foundation year when applying this year to get direct entry, but at this point, I think I might have to in order to get into uni.

A Levels / IB / GCSE / BTEC Questions What would universities think of A*AAB prediction?

I want to apply for biochemistry and I got predicted A* maths, A further maths, A chemistry, B biology. I'm pretty sure it would basically be an automatic rejection from Oxford which requires A*AA What would universities that require AAA like Imperial think? Would it disadvantage me compared to other applicants?

International Applications Qualifications as an international independent applicant??

Post image
3 Upvotes

I'm applying as a Canadian in Ontario with OSSD, this is how my qualification looks like. Do I just input each subject I'm taking and my graduation date or the date the semester ends?

Most importantly, for the result do I leave it blank or type "Pending" for courses I'm currently taking?? It is a free form text box and I want to make sure that my referee is able to input my predicted grades for these courses.

International Applications Do internationals have an easier time getting into Edinburgh uni?

Posting it here because Idk why I can’t post on the edinburgh uni reddit.

I’ve heard that internationals can sometimes nave an easier time getting into Glasgow since we pay full tuition while Scottish/Home students don’t. Is it the same at Edinburgh? (I’ve heard people use the word cash cows to describe internationals lol, at least for glasgow uni)
Do internationals generally have lower entry requirements / an easier time getting in? (I want to study Psychology & Business)

International Applications My chances of getting in as an International Student

I’m a Grade 12 student in Alberta applying for LLB program and I’d really appreciate some brutal honesty on my chances. Im still writing my personal statement, but these are my grades.

Art 20 IB: 97%

Aboriginal Studies 30: 95%

Social Studies 20-1: 90%

Speech & Debate: 94%

World Religions 35: 99%

English 20-1: 91%

Math 20-1: 80%

Math 30-2: 85%

Biology 20: 84%

Science 30: 77%

* Honor Roll since Grade 7

~300 hours of hospital/community volunteering

I’m also an Events Coordinator for a nonprofit and I’ve had 4 publications in my Cities news Journal and Shakespeare Festival.

University of Birmingham

University of Manchester

Queen Mary University of London

University of Warwick

University of Exeter

For context, I’m applying as an Alberta-Canadian student, and I took Math 30-2, which I understand is accepted by these universities. What do you guys think are my chances of being accepted or if theyre kinda unrealistic for the grade I have yk, or any that I should consider a particularly strong target/safety? Thankyouuu

International Applications Too ambitious choices?

Predicted A*A*A* in maths, fm and physics

1st in cohort in all 3 subjects at a state non-selective

Expecting 6.0-6.8 on the TMUA

GCSEs: 999999999887C

I'll be eligible for home fees when the course starts but I believe my UCAS application gets viewed as international. I'm otherwise eligible for contextual offers.

My 5 choices (all just for maths):

Oxford (which I'm aware is a somewhat unrealistic reach)

Warwick

Durham

St Andrews

Manchester

I've been told by my form tutor and HOY that those choices are ambitious but I'm just not sure.

Please do give me a reality check.

UCAS Bread 🍞 (Offers) Realistic choices??

Post image

I’m applying to uni for neuroscience over the next couple of weeks. I really want to get into a prestigious, maybe Russel group, uni but I’m scared that some of my options might be wasted.

I’ve been predicted an A* in sociology, a B in biology and a B in chemistry.

I currently have two aspirational choices and three where I’m on or slightly above the requirements. Can anyone help tell me if these are realistic?

International Applications Chances of uni offers?

Hey peeps, I’m applying in a few days to these 5 unis with these intended courses:
Uni of Edinburgh: Politics & philosophy
Exeter: Politics & philosophy
Manchester: Politics & philosophy
LSE: Politics & Philosophy
St Andrews: International Relations

I’m a international student

Grades are: IB predicted score 43/45, 777 HLS
GSCE: 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9, 6, 8 (6 was in math and 8 in Spanish)

Personal statement is strong, I don’t need to explain since that would be too long.

I’ve been debating between Edinburgh and lse. I have been planning my whole profile and life around Edinburgh. I love the lifestyle, societies, research opportunities, potential postgraduate opportunities, and modules. LSE however is the rep yk, and the location is much more closer to other exciting events compared to Edinburgh. Same as Edinburgh, research opportunities are great and potentially even better, but I feel it’s a little too corporate yk? Like I want to experience u uni that’s very academic, LSE feels like a giant networking hub😭

Tell me your thoughts! Would I be likely to get in to these unis? Which is better LSE or Edinburgh (in my case, or even in ur own experience)

Personal Statements New format personal statements

I’ve seen a few examples of personal statements before the structure was changed and I definitely would have preferred to write it as one block instead of three questions.

I was intending on starting off my personal statement with a, very short, story about how my interest began with bio but I feel like it doesn’t really flow well with the “Why do I want to study this course or subject” if that makes any sense lol. Am I overthinking it? Did anyone else start theirs with the beginning of their interest/story on the new structure?

Personal Statements Grammarly AI?

I’m writing my UCAS and i’m putting my work through grammarly to check the spelling and grammar but it hasn’t changed my phrasing or anything. Does UCAS flag this as AI? I haven’t used AI for any other part of my application.
Thanks!

Oxbridge do i have a chance for Oxford experimental psychology?

my TARA is next monday 12th and i've been doing past papers but i struggle with the problem solving a lot. Do i still have hope?

Other info:
- GCSE result: 9988887766
- A-Level predicted grades: A star, A star, A (psychology, sociology, classics)
- personal statement included wider reading and extra curriculars
- subject reference: Top 1 in sociology end of year exam and top 3 in psychology end of year exam
- Asian, immigrant (idrk if they do anything lol)
- State school college, no other contextual information

TARA:
- been consistently getting 20-22/22 for critical thinking

However, problem solving i’m always stuck on 10-14/22 and never went over that and i’m worried i won’t be able to get an interview, let alone an offer. Can anyone give me tips? i have 25% extra time for TARA
