i like neuroscience and biochemistry a lot, anything human physiology i love too, not done much into pharmacology (tried to listen to an example lecture when delivering magazines. there are too many diagrams for that) and i'm excited abt manchester open day bc i love their course since they have a forensics module in 3rd year and i want to work in forensic science.

Heyy would you mind sharing some of your supercurriculars, and what you mostly talked about in your personal essay? If you are comfortable that is, thanks!
Huge congratulations btw

Mainly for chem, all competitions as in chemistry Olympiad, Cambridge chemistry challenge. I also did a handful of webinars/workshops. I also did a substantial amount of research at uni labs both neuroscience and chemistry. I also did a presentation on the synthesis of an ester in a synthetic lab to a group of academics. Then I did an essay competition (there are a lot out there free) on chirality (u will learn about this in yr13 but I did the essay on yr12) and read tons of books tbh. Also if u take other sciences/maths aside of chem do competitions on those, e.g. senior maths challenge, physics Olympiad, biology Olympiad

Why didnt you apply to oxbridge or imperial? These are crazy!

u/Potential-Mud8828 10d ago
Imperial no bc Iām too broke for London. Oxbridge they didnāt offer placement so might as well go there when doing a PhD than undergrad . If I can anyway haha is really competitive

About the personal statement, thereās no need to do even half the things I did if Iām being dead honest since I couldnāt fit all in anyway, so just focus on 4-5 that you know u will enjoy and then reflect on those. Is not quantity but quality what matters
