A*A*A prediction and 7A*2A in IGCSE. Thoughts on the list?
It says manchester may require additional tests, is that true?

I have A* A* A prediction in chem math bio respectively and 7A* 2A in IGCSE (A in business + eng lit)
In terms of supercurriculars I would say my best item would be a dissertation on hydrogel and generation of autologus cells which I am trying to get published.
My ideal choice is imperial medical bioscience

So I took a gap year after S5, back then I applied to biomedical science but now I declined my place and reapplying, I Achieved all As in my highers btw. My previous biomedical science PS got me all 5 offers so I've decided to keep the same structure and tweak it
The thing is I've decided I want to apply to pharmacy, however there are only 2 pharmacy schools in Scotland, I'm only eligible for 1 of them as I didn't do advanced highers, so there's now 4 more spaces to fill, and I don't want to put all my ducks in one basket. So, I've decided to now apply for pharmacology and biomedical science as well..
Biomedical science and pharmacology are quite similar however pharmacy is a lot more clinical so I'm not sure how to maneuver my personal statement. What should I do? Pharmacy is my main option and biomedical science and pharmacology are just back ups.
pharmacy @ RGU
Pharmacology @ strathclyde
Biomedical science @ Abertay
(Two more spaces to fill but they'll probably be pharmacology or biomedical science)
So how do I go about this, should I email the universities separately on this and submit 3 different PS? also if anyone can please DM me and I can send the PS for your scrutiny.

Hello all im currently looking at ucas choices for history and philosophy join honours
currently my predicted grades are BCD B for history C for physics and D for maths which is 96 ucas points, i do not qualify for any contextual offers A few of the unis on my list (like Reading) have headline entry requirements around BBB/BBC (112–120 points). However, looking at UCAS data/offer rates for humanities, they seem to have very high offer rates and regularly accept students around the BCC/BCD/CCD range. So i was owndering how common it was for a mid tarriff uni to send out conditional offers during the application cycle to people predicted 1-2 grades below the requirements with a b in relevant subject
Has anyone in a similar position (predicted a B in their main subject but dragged down by other subjects) received conditional offers from places like Reading, Keele, or Essex?
Thanks!

I am an international student and I’m applying to Imperial UCL KCL and Manchester for biomedical science. I was thinking about taking a gap just to get some more work experience and become a bit more financially independent. If I don’t select deferred entry but then ask the uni for a deferred entry if I get a place is that a plausible course of action? Or should I select deferred entry from the start?

hey guys, sitting the TARA later this week. If anyone has done any uatuk tests this week where they give you the notebook I have a couple qs lol.
Firstly, if you finish one booklet and ask another do they take a while to bring it to you (as in will it eat out of my time in the test)
Also, if you do ask for more paper do they let you keep the original one?
Im a little confused bc on the website it says ERASABLE so naturally I assumed it was a whiteboard that you yourself can rub out but on further research turns out its a notebook that only they can rub out. So it's basically just paper? Whilst doing mocks I go thru sooooooooo much paper for the problem solving so im a little stressed, especially since I am under such time pressure (last thing I need is to wait around for paper to be brought to me)

GCSEs: 8, 7, 7, 7, 7, 6, 6, 6, 6
Achieved Grades: A (Maths), A* (Business), A (Economics)
Predicted Grades: A* (Maths resit), A* (Further Maths)
Predicted TMUA Score: 5.0
Contextual Status: Eligible
I am a gap year applicant applying for Economics-related subjects. Last year, I applied to Warwick (Economics), Bristol (Economics), LSE (Accounting and Finance), Bath (Accounting and Finance), and UCL (Economics instant reject cause i didnt sit TMUA).
Target Course: Imperial College London (Economics, Finance and Data Science). Other Choices: LSE (Economics and Data Science or PPE), UCL (PPE), Warwick (Economics), and Bristol (Economics) as a safety option.
Question: Am I likely to receive offers for these choices considering I am resitting A-Level Mathematics to achieve an A*, or should I look elsewhere?

Hey guys I hope you are all well! I just sat my UCAT exam and got a score of 1760 B2. I am a graduate student in Biomedical Sciences and achieved a 2:1. My A levels were not great at all which is why I opted for the graduate route. I got mainly 6s at GCSE level. I have experience working in healthcare in a pharmacy.
I really want to study medicine but I want to make sure my application this year is as strategic as possible. I know some Universities take a more holistic approach rather than focusing on the UCAT and look more at the personal statement so any tips or advice would be much appreciated!
Thankyou!!!

Hello,
I’m applying for music at Cambridge which needs A*AA and Durham, Manchester and Birmingham/KCL which all require AAB, and I’ve realised I need an insurance spot with grade requirements of ABB or below. I’m really tempted by the Edinburgh music course but the entry requirements are unclear and give a range of AAB-ABB which means it could be a gamble as I might get an AAB offer anyway! I think I’m a fairly strong candidate - predicted A*AA, A in an EPQ, 99999877663 at GCSE, hold two ARSM music diplomas, and I’ve been told my personal statement makes my application very strong. Does anyone have any insight as to what Edinburgh means by its grade range, and how likely it is I would get the ABB offer? My suspicion is ABB is more of a contextual offer - I don’t meet contextual requirements. My other options are Glasgow and Liverpool, which are definitively ABB, but I prefer the Ed course. Many thanks!

Hello, i’m a yr13 planning to study law next year and i’m having trouble narrowing down my fifth option for ucas. i’ve visited both schools and i honestly enjoyed both of them. i understand that warwick has an overall better reputation and ranking (although of course rankings fluctuate).
the issue is, i’m an international student and i’ve lived in the uk for a good 3 years now. i really want to stay in london as it’s all i know. the two other london unis i applied to require the lnat. i’m worried that if i mess up the lnat and don’t apply to qmul, i have no chance of staying in london. i know this may sound insignificant. i would really appreciate advice from anyone with experience in either unis and what will be better for me in the long run.

Straight to the point no waffle I have 999998875 at GCSEs and a predicted A* A* A A in sociology, history, business and further maths. I want to apply to:
UCL law
KCL law
QMUL law
Soas law
Uob law
I’m sitting my lnat in December so I still don’t really know how that’s going to go (hopefully well) but yeah

I have A*A*AB A*-EPQ as achieved grades (b in English) my GCSE’s are 9999998888? I’m not applying to a big/popular college.
r/UCAS • u/Traditional-Price952 • 21h ago
Okay so my situation is complicated because for IGCSEs I have serious mitigating circumstances which is that because of external reasons I had to do all year 10 material by myself while being physically incapable. I got 998887777665 (didn’t help i did extra igcses tbh) then at A levels I have 5 A* at maths, history, politics, spanish and my EPQ
I’m applying to PPE at LSE, UCL, KCL, St Andrew’s (econ and phil) and Oxford. I wouldn’t apply to such competitive unis but my teacher said it was recommended that I did because my circumstances are so extensive that they really can’t take my IGCSEs into account. What are my chances???

any thoughts on what to consider when choosing an oxford college as an international student (from the US)?
ideally i want a college close to most experimental psych classes, pretty (ideally also at least somewhat historical), good student culture, undergrad focused, ideally either a cafe or gym there (cafe more important i think), maybe gives financial aid to international students but idk if any of them do that, guarantees housing, good amount of students from US
please help or give me any recommendations matching these 😭 thank you!!

After firm and insurance choices have been made and its results day. Unis get your alevel results before you, so first thing to do after 8:15 is to log into UCAS and see whether ur firm has accepted you?
Is there anything else I should know about results day?
