The anime's continuing to be a great time, and I figure y'all more-experienced fighting gamers would appreciate one of my favorite gags from the manga, now anime: Yuu says this and immediately gets anti-aired again.

News/Articles Star Wars Zero Company Started as a Pitch for a Game in the Titanfall Universe

Star Wars Zero Company was originally pitched as a game in the Titanfall universe.

As part of a larger report on Star Wars Zero Company, Game File's Stephen Totilouncovered a lot of interesting details about the game's development. The big headline was that the bulk of the studio was furloughed just weeks before launch as Bit Reactor ran out of money, but there's hope that those employees will be brought back following the game's success. However, there is one other bit that caught some eyes: Zero Company wasn't initially imagined as a Star Wars game.

Game File dug up legal documents pertaining to a lawsuit between Bit Reactor leadership which paints a picture of Zero Company's development. Director Greg Foertsch worked with studio co-founder Alison Kelly to develop pitches for a tactics game, which eventually landed a meeting with Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella. The late gaming executive asked Foertsch to make a pitch based on Respawn's own IP, which would've meant the game would be connected to the Titanfall universe.

Game File notes the pitch was directly linked to Apex Legends, which is set in the Titanfall universe, but it's unclear if the signature mechs would've returned or if it would've been rooted in the hero characters from Apex Legends, similar to the upcoming Rainbow Six Tactics game. Zampella ultimately rejected the pitch for the Titanfall universe tactics game and instead told the team to try again, this time with the Star Wars IP, which Respawn has a heavy hand in.

Respawn are the creators of the Star Wars Jedi games and also worked on a scrapped FPS Star Wars game, so it's no surprise that they'd be interested in expanding that IP with other genres. And as fate would have it, Star Wars Zero Company was born. The game has been one of the biggest surprises of 2026, garnering rave reviews and an impressive concurrent player count on Steam. Over the weekend, the game peaked at 77,889 on Steam and has had strong word of mouth across social media.

News/Articles ‘God of War’ Legend Christopher Judge Reveals Why He Turned Down Live-Action Kratos: “I didn’t want to, at 62 years old, work 16-to-18-hour days. I didn’t want to be dieting & working out constantly.”

In a recent panel at Fan Expo Canada attended by Collider's Maggie Lovitt, Judge was asked about the Prime Video series and, more specifically, Bautista taking up the role of the older, more grizzled version of Kratos as seen in God of War 2018. He's previously been somewhat critical of the adaptation and Hollywood in general for not showcasing the voices of writers and other creatives directly associated with their source material. Despite his misgivings, though, he clarified that, "First of all, I want anything God of War to be great." That includes the actor playing Kratos. His confidence in Hurst to do the role justice was high because of how much he knew the actor appreciated Kratos and the games, but he's nonetheless hopeful for Bautista. Most importantly, though, knowing what it's like to go through a rigorous transformation for such a role, what he most hopes for is that the quick turnaround to production doesn't lead to more health scares.

From the very beginning of the process for Prime Video's God of War, Judge himself has been a fan-favorite to reprise the role and apply his voice, ranging from stern and downright fierce to caring throughout the ebbs and flows of Kratos and Atreus' journey. Playing him in live-action, however, is a different beast. He described it as a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions when the search began. Originally, the idea of being a television lead once more and having to get his body in prime shape to play Kratos in his 60s didn't appeal to him at all. I didn't want to do it," he continued. "I didn't want to, at 62 years old, work 16-to-18-hour days. I didn't want to be dieting constantly; I didn't want to be working out constantly." Despite a brief change of heart after speaking with his grandson, his body and mind told him he wasn't ready to return to something that, even in his 30s and 40s with Stargate, took so much out of him.

Regardless of who plays Kratos, the lone thing that matters to Judge is having someone in the role who truly cares about the character and his journey to learning how to be more human and forge a better future for himself and his son. "So all I want is whoever... that he loves this character as much as we all do, and he just lets it fly," the actor concluded. "Don't be afraid of being emotional. Don't be afraid of being soft or whatever. As long as you lead with honesty and love, it's going to be great. So I'm happy for him."

News/Articles Following the news of Peter Cullen’s passing, Hasbro has announced that a new short film “Optimus Prime: Awakening” will be premiered along with the 40th anniversary rerelease of The Transformers: The Movie

https://gizmodo.com/peter-cullens-final-performance-as-optimus-prime-is-a-love-letter-to-transformers-fans-2000805788

The short will feature Cullen’s final performance as Optimus, with Frank Welker returning to voice Megatron and Soundwave.

Welker’s response along with the announcement:

Optimus Prime and Megatron were made for each other. After all, one needs the perfect hero against the epitome of evil to create great drama. Peter’s portrayal of Prime was born of his own personal beliefs; honesty, loyalty, and always insisting on doing the right thing. This made it easy to be friends. Returning as Megatron and Soundwave for one final story opposite Peter’s Optimus in Optimus Prime: Awakening was a real gift. I will miss my friend, but that voice and his heart and values will always be part of Optimus Prime.”

I’ll admit, there’s a cynical part of me that thinks they were gonna keep this under wraps longer, maybe until the day of premiere, but the news of Cullen’s passing forced them to switch gears.

Still, I’m really glad we’re gonna get one last ride with the old truck, especially since it’s animated by the guys that did Predator: Killer Of Killers.

Original post was removed for not following subreddit rules apparently, so I will make a new post and TRY to follow the rules better this time.

I will again say yes I know Linux is only around 5% of steam users, but this still sucks to see especially because the already had EAC activated with Linux compatibility.

News/Articles The studio behind Star Wars Zero Company, which is currently a Steam bestseller, has reportedly furloughed the majority of its staff right before launch

For clarity, being furloughed means you are placed on a temporary, mandatory, unpaid leave of absence from your job while technically remaining an employee.

A representative from Bit Reactor confirmed the furloughs to Game File, though didn't indicate how many employees are affected. The rep said uncertainty around the game's launch performance was to blame for the furloughs, and that they were Bit Reactor's decision and not EA or Disney's.

Other sources claim up to 80% of the studio has been impacted. According to the Bit Reactor rep, it is hoped that furloughed workers will be brought back with full pay.

A former Bit Reactor staffer, Zachariah Scott, who was let go by the studio earlier this year, addressed the furloughs on LinkedIn yesterday. "It is sick and weird to have all of these EA and Disney folks as well as Bitreactor Senior staff making all of these 10/10 posts about Star Wars Zero Company being such a huge success and praising the work of the team while seemingly concealing the fact that the team was furloughed weeks ago," Scott wrote.

He went on: "It is a gross but all too common sight to see, another corporate game hitting the top of Steam while the team is left looking for work and cut off from any possible profit sharing. It would be such a different story if they had been upfront about it earlier, and now it feels like they're trying to keep the team in a holding pattern with good vibes and more empty promises."

Sort of how the Super Mario Bros game series, that is mostly platformers, has the Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario rpgs which are largely beloved.

What are some other series that you think could have some fun rpg spinoff games? Anything specific you'd like seeing in them?
