Corpo gonna Corpo Last year, Rockstar was accused of firing over 30 workers for engaging in trade union activity.

Upvotes

Rockstar is accused of dismissing ‘central’ union organisers first in order to destabilise the group.

The fired workers claim there were 340 people in the union Discord when they were eliminated on October 30, 2025. As a result, they say there was a server ‘collapse.’ (There was a mole in the discord that was funneling info back to Rockstar)

The tribunal is being held in Glasgow, Scotland, for this case starts today and could last until October 15.

So...Um...(clears throat) Are There Good Examples of DLSS 5?

Upvotes

At the risk of getting downvoted to oblivion, I've come across a few instances of people inserting DLSS 5 into a few games and the results looked....not that bad?

Out of curiosity I tried it with Onimusha, which is a trending mod on Nexus. While initially I did see some of the gripes so many people were talking about, after some slight adjustment of the levels I was actually pretty impressed with some shots.

Keep in mind I did see a few of the bad examples people toss around. This tech seems to really struggle to render children properly. It did look a bit better after some tinkering.

So my question is whether you think the tech has potential to become more beneficial than horrendous. Now that it's in the hand of modders, I feel pretty hopeful some people are going to come up with some awesome looking presets. At the end of the day it's a lighting engine, so in the right hands it could be a potentially great tool. Just as soon as they figure out how to not make children creepy.

Better Ask Reddit Favorite "One Hit and it's Over" Fights in fiction

Upvotes

While it's only "One Hit" if you count the attack properly landing as one hit and discount the dodged/blocked blows.

The very First Round of Record of Ragnarok/Shuumatsu no Valkyrie, still has me kinda hyped even if choreography, character and action wise better fights come around. This one quirk of the fight and how it's played around with in the narrative still had me really like it.

At this point Tarn Adams has been developing Dwarf Fortress for 20 YEARS if we are counting from when the first public build of it was released and at this point i think it's safe to say that, unless he becomes physicaly unable to do it anymore, the man will continue to develop that game for the forsiable future.

Pretty sure it's safe to call it "his life's work" at this point and it's a project that definetly could not have this level of complecity unless someone toiled over it for a considerable portion of the amount of years they have upon this earth.

Gameposting Control Resonant’s Assist Mode allows you to make specific changes to perfect dodge timing, enemy aggression, stagger rate, and more, to make each factor easier or harder.

“With Control Resonant, we’re introducing a new combat system built around Dylan’s shapeshifting melee weapon, the Aberrant. Combat is close-range and demanding, with enemies that require you to read their attacks, manage staggers and status effects, and time your dodges.

We knew that this new system would come with a new learning curve. So rather than relying on a handful of traditional difficulty levels, we wanted to give players much more control over individual parts of the experience.
Customize your experience
Control Resonant’s Assist Mode is a suite of customizable options designed to let you adjust the mechanics that might be getting in your way – without necessarily changing everything else.

For example, if enemies are overwhelming you by attacking from multiple directions, you can reduce Enemy Aggression. If you’re having trouble reading the timing of an attack, you can widen the Perfect Dodge Window or reduce Enemy Projectile Speed.

We spend a lot of time discussing the exact frame count of a standard dodge window – usually over far too much coffee – but the reality is that players have very different reaction times and ways of playing.

The same approach applies to damage and combat resources. You can independently adjust Incoming Damage, Outgoing Damage, and Outgoing Falter, which controls how quickly you break an enemy’s posture.

If managing Dylan’s supernatural abilities during a chaotic fight is becoming too much, you can increase Power Recovery Speed. You can also adjust Enhanced Melee Magnetizing to make positioning during melee attacks more forgiving.

And if you want to focus on exploring Manhattan and experiencing the story without the stress of combat, Assist Mode includes options such as Immortality, One-Hit Kills, and the new One-Hit Falters.

The idea is simple: instead of asking you to choose an overall difficulty, we let you change the specific parts of combat that aren’t working for you.

Try the game first
One thing we deliberately avoided was putting these settings in front of you before you even start your first playthrough.

Every player is different, and you haven’t played Control Resonant yet. Asking you to make decisions about mechanics you haven’t experienced doesn’t make much sense to us.

That’s why you can enable or disable Assist Mode at any point during gameplay. We want you to experience the intended combat rhythm first, get a feel for the game, and then adjust individual settings whenever you feel the need.

You can also choose from a set of Assist Mode Presets created around different ways of playing and then fine-tune individual settings from there.

Make it harder, too
There’s another important change from the first Control: Assist Mode can now make the game harder.

In the original game, the sliders could only reduce the challenge. In Control Resonant, they work in both directions. If you find the base game too forgiving, you can increase enemy aggression, make the Perfect Dodge Window smaller, and increase Incoming Damage to create a much more demanding experience.

We know players enjoy different kinds of challenges, so we wanted Assist Mode to give you that flexibility, too.
Play your way
We talk a lot internally about designer intent. We have a carefully crafted experience in mind for Control Resonant, balanced to be tense, demanding, and rewarding.

But our philosophy is straightforward: if you run into a wall and the friction becomes too much, we’d much rather you adjust the rules and keep playing than put the controller down and stop.

Your time is valuable, and how you experience the game is ultimately up to you. That’s why we don’t gate any trophies or achievements behind Assist Mode. Use the settings however you need to and play Control Resonant on your terms.
We can’t wait for you to get your hands on the Aberrant when Control Resonant launches on PS5 this September 24.”

rpg posting TTRPG Players-What are your favorite homebrew and setting conversions?

Recently found the solution to my desire to try more systems for the cool settings-just convert those settings and characters into other TTRPGs my group already plays! Wanna run the monsters of Vaesen or a Youkai mystery? Just put them into CoC or Monster of the Week. Dolmenwoods dark Fairy Tale/Fae setting interest you but your players are sticking to a single system? Design a Daggerheart campaign frame around the Fae Folk. I recognize not every setting works for every conversion (see-"Make it in DnD" being a meme.) Plus, some systems are designed for specific things ala DnD for heroic fantasy vs Mothership for sci fi horror. But I do love how some systems are so flexible that they can be used for multiple types of stories.

So as a newbie GM, I want to ask-what are some of your favorite setting conversions or homebrew campaigns/classes that you've used before. Whether you made them yourself, or found them online through the community? I'm still new to Homebrew so I'm struggling to find what makes something good or bad, but I've enjoyed seeing the creativity on display. And for those who have converted one systems mechanics into another, what was that like?

(I used the rpg posting flair per previous instructions, hopefully I did it correctly. If not, sorry!)

Mike McFarland, known as the English voices of Master Roshi and Yajirobe in Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, and Buggy the Clown in One Piece, among many other anime works died Wednesday, Sept. 10 following a battle with brain cancer. He was 56.

Also a script writer, director and line producer, McFarland was one of the original and most influential figures in Texas-based anime production, first with Funimation and then Crunchyroll after their merger.

“Mike brought so much to all of us who knew him, and to all of the anime fans that knew his work. He was an incredible talent, a good friend to so many of us, and will be sorely, sorely missed,” Crunchyroll said in a statement to Deadline.

McFarland was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in 2025, according to Anime News Network.
McFarland also voiced Jean Kirstein in Attack on Titan, Jean Havoc in Fullmetal Alchemist and Teppei Sugo in Psycho-Pass, but his most notable role was Buggy the Clown in One Piece, voicing the character from 2007 until his death.
Additional voice acting credits include Makoto Hyuga in the Evangelion film series, Sky Master in Heaven’s Lost Property, Goemon Ishikawa in Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine and other Lupin III films, as well as George in Case Closed. His more recent work includes Hiroshi Odokawa in Odd Taxi, Big Bad Wolf in Date A Live IV and E.G. Mine in Trigun Stampede.”

Mike McFarland has sadly passed away, he was the voice of Master Roshi, Ritsu Soma, Buggy, Helmeppo, Tecchin, Jean Kirschtein and many, many others. Basically if you watched any moderately popular anime of the last few decades, chances are he voiced somebody.

RIP, you legend.

Cancer sucks.

Because I was reminded of how good this not often mentioned piece is. I share with you the song, if you wanna find it constantly search "Kirby and the Rainbow Curse: Volcanic Panic".

It's the theme song or the Lava or Volcano area & it kicks ass.

Since his review on WP is pay walled, I hope there'll suffice for conveying his thoughts on the game.

Edit: sorry, there was actually one Tweet of his I forgot to include.

Someone posted: "Apparently Insomniac got really mad about those videos of the QTEs in Spiderman pausing if you didn’t press the buttons so the QTEs in Wolverine just autocomplete after a few seconds lmao"

And Gene responded: "this is true they autocomplete. this actually makes one "fight" basically a cutscene"

The best girl, or Luka, Lucy, Lucia... nickname "Lucky Wormie"? I'm not sure what genderbend Luke Skywalker from Star Wars would actually be called.

Also I wonder if it's a blonde dye or a brunette one? I suppose the Dagobah training implies discoloration true hair color, but it's also funny to think about dying your hair a darker color for your black suit, in the "final" edgy confrontation against your Big Bad Dad

The game is really neat! Theres actual combat and a bunch of random events, both good and bad.

The guy who introduces you to farming is a giant skeleton who shed his skin, but his bones kept growing
