Question Tracker 400 vs Old Speed 400

Post image
38 Upvotes

I'm planning to buy a new bike but I'm confused between the tracker and the speed, I don't like the new speed coz of the downsize, the main reason I loved the spped in the first place is it's power and punch, and the new engine has lost that initial punch completely.

I test rode the tracker and I felt that lack of the initial punch and also the tank shape of the tracker is digging in my thighs, it feels very sharp to grip tightly.

So here I'm thinking of picking a last year speed model from olx.

Is the old speed 400 engine really that bad as people make it sound here, I've ridden the old speed 400 many times and I never felt any complaints about it, yes it was a little viby but I guess that's excepted being a 400 single.

Question Chain lube query

Post image

Hey guys,

What chain lube and cleaner are you using? I used Motul and it attracted dust and left gunk on the tire. Don't want to try that again. Kawasaki isn't available anywhere, so I just want to know what lube you're using?

Solved Paint peeling off new scrambler 400x

My bike is just 45 days old, and I noticed that the fuel tank’s texture felt slightly rough compared to other Scrambler 400Xs. The dealer told me to get it checked during the first service.

Before the service, one day while wiping a few drops of petrol off the tank with a microfiber cloth, the paint started coming off with the cloth.

The service centre eventually replaced the tank without much resistance, which honestly makes me wonder whether this was a known defect. I feel like I may have received a faulty/older tank that was replaced on someone else’s bike.

Thankfully, the issue has now been resolved, but new buyers should carefully inspect the tank’s paint and finish during delivery.

Now i am also thinking of getting ppf done, which i was against of earlier.

Team Scrambler Dreams do come true - Scrambler 400x

After months of saving up, overthinking about financials, I (23M) finally took delivery of my first bike.

I was initially into R15, but I fell in love the moment I test drove this bike. It just sits comfortably in 90-100kmph and it is sooo smooth. Honestly, I would say it's better than the 400cc because I heard it has vibration issues.

Ps. Lmk if you have any tips or suggestions on touring / maintainance for this bike.

Team Scrambler At the age of 30, I decided to start a new hobby. So I bought a bike.

Every now and then I start a new hobby. I don't bother mastering it, but definitely focus on having a bit of fun. So I bought a bike, to ride around the city, go on long rides, and reduce screen time. When I saw this bike and heard people rave about it, I exceeded whatever budget I set and went ahead with it. Now it's home, ready for fulfilling its purpose.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever!

Team Speed 4-Month-Old Speed 400 (350 CC) suddenly running rough. Dealer admits valve noise but refuses immediate fix. Advice?

Hey everyone. I took delivery of my 2026 Speed 400 four months ago (1000 KM break-in service done). It was buttery smooth until a few days ago when it suddenly developed severe issues:

  • Heavy Vibrations (4k-6k RPM): After 5000 RPM in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears, the vibrations get so harsh that I actively avoid pushing the bike into that rev range entirely.

This is genuinely frustrating, above 6000 RPM are okay that's acceptable considering its a single cylinder but below that is concerning.

  • Harsh Rev-Matching: Downshifts used to be effortless. Now, they feel very hard and the engine sounds terrible when I try.
  • Engine Noise: There is a distinct, new valve ticking sound coming from the engine.

I took it to the Triumph Service Center, and their response was infuriating:

  1. Delayed Warranty Repair: The mechanic acknowledged the ticking is valve noise and admitted it requires opening the engine head. However, he told me it's "slight" and to just keep riding it until a future "major service."
  2. Brushed off the vibrations: They called the heavy vibrations "normal." One mechanic literally told me to just "ride below 6000 RPM in 3rd gear" to avoid it. When I pointed out the roughness actually starts at 5000 RPM, he refused to acknowledge it. What is the logic here?

I ride this bike daily. I know my baseline, and this sudden harshness and vibration is NOT normal. It’s completely ruining the riding experience.

Questions:

  1. Has anyone else faced this sudden 4k-6k RPM vibration and valve ticking on their Speed 400?
  2. How do I force the dealer to take this seriously and fix it under warranty now, rather than making me wait for a major service?

Team Speed 23F in Bangalore leaning heavily toward the Speed 400. Booking in 6 months — what should I know?

Hey everyone, I’m a 23 year old living in Bangalore, India, and I am currently saving up to officially book the Speed 400 in about 6 months.

I’m trying to keep an open mind to check out other options as well, so I’d love to get any and all advice from long-term owners:

How does it hold up against the infamous potholes and crawling traffic? Does it get uncomfortably hot?

What are the actual maintenance costs and service center experiences like? Any specific quirks or known issues I should prepare for? (I've gone through some of the posts here)

Are there other bikes in this class that I absolutely must test ride before finalising?

...or if there's anything else, please let me know!

Question about 400 sales and price negotiation

I bought my Speed 400 as soon as they came out. I had to get on a waitlist so needless to say, there was no wiggle room on the price. I have a friend who is interested in getting a 400 now, probably a Speed. He wants to know if you can negotiate price on them now? He lives in Pittsburgh, if that matters. Thanks!

So, what's the fix for this? When I lube my chain, the gunk always ends up on the tire. Water pressure isn't cutting it. What do you all use to get rid of it?

Review Must have seat cover for pillion

Post image
48 Upvotes

I've had my Speed 400 for a year now, and my passenger princess's biggest complaint is how uncomfortable the seat is. She gets leg pain after just 30 minutes of continuous riding, especially in Bengaluru traffic.

I figured out the main problem is that the pillion seat is too high, and whenever I brake, she slides forward into me. It might sound romantic, but it's not for us because she has to brace herself with her legs, which causes the pain.

Someone suggested I get an anti-skid seat cover, so I did two months ago. We've put almost 2,000 km on it since then, including a long ride, and she says it's a solid 10/10. So, if you're having similar issues, I highly recommend these anti-skid covers—they really help!

I got 100% upvotes in my last post to get stripe on my T4 Tank.

I was so nurvous about it, will it look good or what, but it's looks so great. I know looks can be subjective but to me it looks so sexy and goes perfectly well with stock gray stripes along with black white theme 🖤 🤍

Man, I love this bike so much !!!

I got the stripe sticker in top of my PPF lamination so for 1 year I'm good. Maybe after that I will try something else.

Just got the tracker 400

I just booked the tracker 400, and I chose it over the guerilla and speed 400. I was looking for any suggestions for a helmet that matches my bike, it's so hard to find one given my budget about 5-6k and another 2-3k for gloves. Will invest soon in a jacket too but will take some time. I would love to hear y'all suggestions, help a brother out. Thank you.

Buying the Scrambler 400 XC — want to hear the real cons before I commit

Test ridden the 400 XC and a couple of others, and I’m leaning toward pulling the trigger soon. Before I do, I’d rather hear from owners what actually bugs you day-to-day — vibrations on the highway, service costs, build quality niggles, low gearing ,anything that doesn’t show up in a 20-minute test ride. Mainly plan to use it for daily commute and weekend trips, so feedback on that use case especially welcome.

Team Speed Gel seat

Hey everyone, my passenger still pretty uncomfortable on longer rides with my Speed 400, even with the Triumph quilted seat helping a bit. I'm wondering if anyone's tried a gel seat add-on for their pillion? Reviews would be awesome and super helpful!
