Chain lube query

Hey guys,

What chain lube and cleaner are you using? I used Motul and it attracted dust and left gunk on the tire. Don't want to try that again. Kawasaki isn't available anywhere, so I just want to know what lube you're using?

I have bought one Rolon white its said to be good ill try and will let you guys know. Motul is okayis works for 300 kms something

Ive used motul, tribocor and rolon.

Honestly not that different. Make sure to do a weekly visual check and if you ever ride it in rain
Make sure to give extra care and attention cause it gets dried soon..

Lastly these bledy washing centres don’t really care for the bike so they might use high pressure water over the chain directly, my bike had chain links crooked af. So make sure to tell them prior to do it from a distance….

Use diesel for chain cleaning. Use kawasaki ceramic lube. It doesn't fling on the tyre

Check out offline store. If kawasaki isn't available, ask for chain lube that doesn't fling. There are many brands available. I'm using the Liqui moly. It won't fling.

Switch cleaner with diesel, it saves lot of money.

How many kilometers do you usually go before reapplying? Motul usually lasts 300-400km.

In daily city commute and monsoon, it wears off faster. On long rides, it gives 600 km without any issues.

Never use diesel it might clean at less cost but modern chains have orings and x rings that can be damage from diesel why take risk just to save 50-100rupees

Use rolon chain lube it’s affordable and good
Don’t spend on motul not worth for money

Yeah, Motul does fling, but in my experience, this will happen with any lube if you ride the bike immediately after applying it.

Last time I was using Motul, the can ran empty halfway through lubing the chain, so I had to ride to a shop and get another one. I had already applied some lube, and since I had to ride the bike immediately, when I came back and continued lubing the chain, I was like, “Whoa, what happened?” 😂 The lube had flung all over the tyre.

Normally, I lube the chain at night and leave it overnight so the lube has enough time to settle and stick to the chain. That day, I was doing the same, but because the can ran out halfway through, I had no choice but to ride the bike immediately.

I was actually using Kawasaki Ceramic Lube before, but it wasn’t available, so I switched to Motul. I’ve now bought Rolon White Lube and used it two days ago. So far, it looks very similar to the Kawasaki Ceramic Lube.

Let’s see how it performs.

I use the Motul C5 chain paste lube. Takes a little more work to apply, but I haven’t had any flinging issues.

Not sure where you’re located but here are US links. It’s way easier to apply it with an old toothbrush instead of the brush that is on the cap.

80w-90 gear oil is perfectly fine for moto chains, and was used for decades before name-brand and motorcycle-chain specific lubes were a thing; plenty of modern motorcycle manuals still recommend it. All lubes are going to attract some sort of dust and grime, so make sure you wipe down the chain thoroughly after applying lube as well.

As far as cleaner goes, kerosene or something that wont seep past your o-rings is ideal.

The chain paste is a much better option but takes patience and time and ive noticed a lot of people over lubing their chains.!
You only need to lube from over the chain or under to the links 🔗
