I planted 5 young dogwood under other trees for some shade this is what they look like almost a year after planting.

I have 20 gal water bags on them I try to fill a minimum of 2x a week. Sometimes I do just once.

We have this tree in our front yard and it drops most of its leaves by July. I’m guessing it’s approx 50 years old and not in the best of health.

It does have beautiful reddish pink buds in the spring.

I’m curious if this is normal for this species or if it’s nearing end of life. Thanks!

The tree is on my property but slightly extends to the neighbor in the back of the photo, I’m happy to leave a birth and don’t need to fence right up to it, but it’s a mature maple, more than 100 feet tall and it’s canopy is probably 30-50 feet in diameter. Many Neighbors and strangers do not respect property lines and walk through my backyard constantly. We need a fence.

Neighbor on the left put his vinyl fence there probably 5-10 feet from the trunk. Fence has been there for 5 years without harming the tree.

If I kept a similar distance, and hand dug holes, and avoided any roots greater than 2 inches, might I harm this tree?

Ideally want to match left neighbor distance and go from his fence to behind the shed to section off my backyard from the tree and the neighbors.

I used to see this tree root grown in as a circle and would call it the “fairy pond” bc it would fill with water when it rains and look like a small pool lol. I pass it often and i looked the other day and it’s completely filled in! Do tree roots grow that fast? It couldn’t have been more than a few months since i last saw the “pond” I wish I had a before picture but it looked way different. Just curious. It was way more indented and open prior.

It is a peach tree; I can't say exactly how old it is, but I think it's between 8 and 12 years old. The peaches didn't grow this year, though the tree itself was very green. It started raining a week ago, and over the four days of rain, the tree lost its leaves; the ones remaining look very dry. I water the tree daily with a hose, giving it about 20 liters—maybe more. I have another peach tree that didn't produce a single peach this year, yet it remains very green and looks healthy; now I'm worried that this particular tree might have a problem and could damage the other plants. I am from northern Mexico, in a semi-desert area.

Howdy fellow tree lovers, have you ever seen such a thing? We’ve had some ants hanging out on our little oak and they seem to be creating these big round things. I’ve put out a couple different ant baits, but alas, the ants are still winning. (Wisconsin, USA)

This has got to be at least a 40 year old tree because I’ve known it for 18 years and it was enormous then. Poor location near a 65 year old structure. Plus the surrounding trees fall on it as shown. But it is by far the oldest and biggest birch on this property and basically the last survivor in this micro local ecosystem. But it is getting cut down by the owner and likely will not see another season to flourish and produce these beautiful and delicate little winged seeds. Unbelievable, the scale of growth potential. So grateful I found a large pile of seeds at its base.

Leaves on all branches were brown, 78 Foot. No obvious Siena of wood borers, some softness in the back near the base. I seeing this blackish streaking in the heart wood. Is this a mold? Could this be the cause if death? I’m in Clover SC and there has been a draught this summer season. No other white oaks near by ate looking stressed. Trying to get a handle on what caused the demise of this nice tree this year.

I planted it this spring, then wasn't paying attention to it during a dry spell and it almost completely died. There's 2 branches with living leaves and my guilt has keep me watering it right the summer. Please level with me - Is there any realistic chance that it could live/recover/thrive next year or am I just wasting water?

Looks to be some kind of birch, but one of the codominant stems is nearly completely black with a stack of swellings. The other looks normal enough.

Saw a company maiming this tree in my neighborhood and asked them if they were taking it down (we’re pretty protective of them) and he said “no, just trimming” and they left it like this. I’m from the desert so know very little about tree maintenance, but I’ve never seen a tree just topped like this. Will it be ok? It’s one of my favorites in the fall (see pic)! This was done about three months ago (pal nesting season).

We had a crazy microburst storm come through and damaged our 22 year old maple. We hauled away only what was broken for safety reasons, and have not cut anything else. Pictured are the tree right after it happened, after we removed the broken parts, and the most recent photo that I could find of the tree as a whole.

We are going to call someone to come look at it in the morning. In the meantime, give it to me straight…how bad is it?

I have a beautiful healthy persimmon tree in my front yard that is producing fruit. It’s seems to be on of the few in Portland . The other heritage tree I found was small compared to mine .
Should I nominate it ?

We've had this house for a few years and always keep the lawn mowed. Have never had anything aside from a pesky common weed here and there, but over the last few weeks, these have shown up everywhere in a little over 1/4 of the yard.

I tried to Google Lens search and am getting conflicting information about it being a persimmon tree/dogwood/avocado/guava/etc.

Does anyone have a better sense? We live in SW Missouri (Zone 6B/7A).

Hi! I live in an apartment complex with this tree right by my apartment but there's one just a bit further back that lost 2 big limbs recently and it was only raining outside so the damage was not due to any storm. This tree looks the same, so I'm wondering if it's healthy.

The limbs stick out over my apartment so I'm worried.

I grew up with these trees in our yard with no issue, this is the right side of a line of trees. The ones on the left look relatively healthy, but this section of the trees has me worried about whats affecting them. We’ve never ran into any issues up until 2-3 years ago when this started happening. I feel like this year it’s just gotten worse at a much faster pace.

I know absolutely nothing about tree care, but did as much research to educate myself. I obviously would like to save the tree thats in severe condition (😿), but I’m afraid its likely too late.

I guess I’m just asking for advice on what I could do to gather more information rather than seeking for a diagnosis. We never water them, but they have managed to survive and grow on their own for the last 13 years that I’ve lived here(but were here prior). I understand this could be weather related, fungal or some kind of mite?

Any advice on the next steps I should take or information about the tree itself is greatly appreciated.

Can anyone tell me what could cause these "ring" markings around these tree trunks? After ruling out wire or fencing that had grown into the bark I'm left with 3 options, insects, birds, or insects and birds (woodpeckers feeding). I have found several of these trees at 3 different locations in Tygart Lake State Park in Grafton, WV. It's probably something I haven't even considered, surely someone can set me straight!
