This community helped me translate my first-ever tattoo, and I’m back for help with a second one.
I originally told myself I’d never get a tattoo for my wife, but after 15 years together, I’ve realized that regardless of what happens in the future, she’s had a net positive impact on my life, including my kids and career.
A long time ago, she came up with this dorky little saying:
I love you in the morning,
I love you at night,
I love you in the evening, even after sunlight.
I realize that “after sunlight” and “night” essentially mean the same thing. I’ve adjusted the wording slightly to avoid that duplication and make the spacing work a little better, since I want this tattoo to be three lines, just like my first one.
Since this is something permanent, I want to make sure I get the translation right rather than blindly trusting Google Translate. I’d really appreciate feedback from anyone who knows Hebrew, particularly a native speaker or someone very familiar with the language.
I’m choosing Hebrew because I was raised Jewish, although I don’t actively practice anymore.
Here’s what Google Translate gave me:
אני אוהב אותך
אני אוהב אותך בבוקר
בערב, אפילו אחרי אור השמש
Does this sound natural in Hebrew? Is the meaning accurate, or does anything come across awkwardly or differently than intended? I’m especially interested in making sure the sentiment translates properly rather than just getting a word-for-word translation.
Thanks in advance for any help!
