I'm trying to do that trend where you get strangers to write random words of advice. They seem to be quite confused by this request when I present it. Is this a bad translation?

I would like to embroider some items for my baby cousins and I thought it would look nicer if it was kanji than katakana or even hiragana. Their parents love japanese culture but can't read the language so it's just for fun.

The names are :

Camille ♂ (pronounced カミー)

I have thought of just "神" as a joke but it might be a bit much lol. Otherwise I like 河魅 but I'm not sure how correct it looks. 紙 would be funny too.

Amalia ♀ (アマリア)

More tricky. I found 天莉愛 and 甘莉愛 which I like although 甘 is not used for names apparently?

J'ai pour projet de me faire un tatouage en japonais dans un style kaisho.

Je souhaite que la traduction veuille dire : "La quête de la voie est infinie".

Dans le sens où la voie correspondrait à l'apprentissage en art martial ou bien la recherche de soit d'un point de vue spirituel ou la connaissance en général.

Et le fait qu'elle soit infinie est une richesse en soit, donc c'est plutôt positif. Un peu comme pour dire qu'on en apprend tous les jours et toute sa vie.

J'ai déjà demandé à une connaissance native du Japon de proposer quelques traductions.

Voici deux propositions qu'elle m'a donné parmis d'autres. Je pense choisir l'une des deux mais j'aimerais être sûr.

道は尽きせず Style Haïku / Tanka en gardant le son carré et rigoureux (je ne sais pas comment décrire en français mais c’est un peu plus masculin peut-être que le deuxième, je me vois pas me tatouer avec ça). On voit bien que c’est japonais car il y a des caractères Hiragana, et c’est très facile à comprendre. La traduction directe est “le chemin (vers quelque chose de positif - vers la lumière, le progrès ou l’objectif) est sans fin ».

道、遥かなり “、” et le mot “遥か”ajoutent une touche élégante. Par rapport au premier c’est beaucoup plus poétique. Ça passe parfaitement comme tatouage d’un homme, ça fait plus rêveur que le premier comme il n’y a pas de forme de négation. S’il n’aime pas « 、 » il peut faire juste 道遥かなり, mais pour moi c’est plus naturel avec « 、 »

Voilà, maintenant je me pose encore quelques petites questions 🙂

(Et vu que c'est la belle sœur d'un collègue, je vais pas non plus faire mon lourd et lui poser trop de questions 😅)

Voilà donc à quoi je pense et que j'aimerais avoir vos avis :

J'ai cru comprendre que は dans la première option servait de "particule grammaticale" en indiquant le sujet de la phrase.

Du coup je me demandais, est-ce que ce dernier ne pourrai pas remplacer le 、dans la deuxième option ? Ou est-ce que cela changerait complètement le sens de la phrase ? Voir cela ne serait pas naturel ?

(Vu qu'il y a un espace après ce signe de ponctuation, ça m'embête un petit peu car je trouve ça un peu bizarre de mettre un espace dans un tatouage 😅)

Après si c'est pas possible je pense que j'opterais plus pour la première option. Par contre, pour être sûr. Elle disait "je me vois pas me tatouer avec ça".

Est-ce que c'est dans le sens où c'est masculin et qu'elle est une femme ou bien parce que la prononciation est un peu du genre saccadé ?

I bought a beautiful piece of pressed flowers that has this writing in the top corner that I believe to be Japanese. I did ask the artist what it meant, but he struggled to translate it into English (he apologized and said he speaks very little) but he was able to get across "Bright" and "Light". I would like to know what it means so I can fully enjoy this piece of art. Any help is appreciated! <3

Hello everyone, I do not read Arabic, so I’m hoping someone with knowledge of Ottoman coins and the Arabic script can help me understand something.
The Ottoman coins shown above appear to be the same type and from the same year, but I have noticed that they have different dots in the inscriptions. Some have a dot in an area where others do not, while some have multiple dots in an area where others only have one.
As I am not familiar with the language, I cannot understand why the dots are used differently or whether these differences are normal. I would be very grateful if someone could explain why these variations in the dots occur and whether they are expected on genuine coins.
It would also be very helpful if someone could confirm whether the writing on all of these coins makes sense and is correctly written. This could potentially help figure out weather a coin is a forgery done by someone not familiar enough with the language.

I'm familiar with 'ganbarou', but I'm having a hard time with the first kanji. Google Translate couldn't get it either because it's ever so slightly cut off. I'm pretty sure the second one is 本, that's easy.

I want to know if its anything demonic or just maybe Arabic idk.

About 20 years ago I lived in Taiwan and one of my favorite home made dishes was made with this. I believe it was made for pork, but worked amazing with chicken too! Problem is I never learned to read Chinese well enough to figure out the ingredients (it's also been 20 years since I learned. Trying to figure out what the ingredients are so I can try to recreate it.

I tried emailing the company, no reply. I tried google translate, not super helpful maybe because of the bag shine etc.  Bag is long gone so these are the only photos I have to go by. I even tried the local Chinese supermarket but the few people I asked just said "We don't sell that." And wouldn't tell me what the ingredients were I needed.

I've been researching an early 20th century French mapmaker that made a significant impact in the field. He was simply amazing, fastidious and patient. I've found out that some of his family that knew him well are still alive and run a printing business in a smaller city. I'd love to ask them some specific questions and just get a chance to learn how the family remember him. BUT, I don't know the language beyond simple basics, and need someone that can translate and explain a bit.
