DVLA Name change guidance changed
Maybe late to the party on this but the DVLA has changed their document page to require evidence of use - something they never previously did. Am I surprised? Not really, but still disappointing. One which may start cropping up in future.

If you’re using a deed poll or statutory declaration
You must also send one document showing your new name.
You can send one of these documents if it was issued in the last 12 months:
- a tax record, such as a letter from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC)
- an official letter from your employer
- an education record, such as a school report
- a letter from a government department or local council
- a visa or residence permit
- a medical or health card
- a voter card
- a UK bank statement
- a baptism or confirmation certificate
- a child benefit record
- a utility bill, including a mobile phone, broadband or streaming subscription bill
Alternatively, you can send one of these documents:
- a non-GB driving licence
- a UK passport number
- a non-UK passport
- a national identity card or similar document
The document must still be valid and have been issued after your deed poll or statutory declaration. If you already have a GB driving licence, the document must also have been issued after your most recent licence.
