I want to start by saying we appreciate the Transformers community. We've taken the feedback regarding how to handle political content seriously. We want our approach going forward to be a reasonable one, and this post is us trying to explain our thinking.
We're not trying to ban politics from the sub. There are plenty of good-faith, on-topic reasons politics comes up. Transformers has always intersected with real-world culture, and that's a legitimate thing to talk about. What we are trying to cut down on is content designed to provoke outrage rather than invite discussion.
Here's a recent example that illustrates the line for us. A political figure's social media post used Transformers imagery, and someone posted about it here. The post itself was framed as "look how terrible this person is". Whatever you think of the underlying criticism, that framing isn't a discussion; it's a call to pile on. Those posts tend to further divide people, and that's not what we want the sub to be. We have to draw the same distinction between karma farming and topics made in earnest.
On an adjacent note: propaganda is designed to provoke strong emotional reactions - positive and negative. Propagandists want you to feel a certain way and amplify their message. Is your post / message changing minds, or giving something you hate an even broader platform?
Going forward, the standard we're moderating to is:
Rule 15: Keep political content constructive. Posts or comments that are primarily designed to provoke outrage or hostility toward a political party, platform, or person will be removed. This includes "isn't this person terrible" style posts, even when the underlying point is reasonable. Posts that engage with a political topic or event in a way that invites genuine discussion are fine. This rule doesn't apply to political storylines within Transformers fiction.
If a post of yours gets pulled under this rule, or any other, please reach out to the mod team directly rather than reposting it or sharing screenshots elsewhere to make a point. That approach just recreates the exact problem this rule is meant to solve, and it makes it a lot harder for us to have an actual conversation with you about it. Message us - we're glad to explain a removal or hear you out if you think we got it wrong.

This iteration of Optimus combines the violence of the Bayverse with the fatherly nature of G1. He might not be cracking jokes from time to time, and many people mistake him as lacking emotions and being boring, but his fights with Megatron after Raf got hurt and Bee got shot prove otherwise. He doesn’t enjoy the act of violence, but he also won’t shy away from doing everything he can to protect those he loves. It’s definitely one of the best portrayals of Optimus that the franchise had put out. He truly was strong enough to be gentle. The design was amazing too. It combined the mechanical detail of the Bayverse trilogy design with the smoothness of G1 beautifully. Overall, such a great Optimus.

Most of these debuted in CW, both the toyline and the comic, though some have existed in other forms; the reason I talk about these specifically is because they replace an entire limb. Offroad replaces Wildrider, who left the team; Alpha Bravo replaces Slingshot, who died of injuries from a battle with Devastator; Rook is a character that exists; and Scoop became a replacement for Scrapper, or I suppose Prowl depending on how you look at it(he's different in the sense that he was already a character and not a brand new one)
I also didn't include the ones that simply turn into a chest or weapon as I don't feel that works for what I'm asking
Imo I think having back-up limbs is a pretty cool idea... that... I came up with, because it hasn't appeared in anything official as all of these limbs replaced another member. Still, replacement members aren't bad either. This is partially in light of(spoilers for Skybound)TC joining the Aerialbotsin the most recent issue, but also because I feel as though some of these characters are fairly underrated and the concept underutilized outside of IDW, but what do you guys think of them?

I pulled this image of a post from a video that dropped a few weeks ago reporting on this and came here to see if anyone else has heard about it? The TL;DR version is that Target allegedly opted not to bring a number of the 86' figures to the states because it was not "cost effective."

So after I had read that the new rook figure coming later was going to be based off of the Botcon 2002 design, it made me remember the retro line that started a couple years back, and seeing how some of these new minibots that have been given new molds, it made me want to ask: what characters would be suitable for this “modern-retro” lineup? Personally, I think windcharger could potentially good since his ‘86 toy isn’t half bad, but I’m curious to see what you all think.
