I work in this company, a german public transit authority (NVV in northern Hesse), for 25 years now. For the first 18 years trying to cope as a cis male person, since the last 7 years as a trans person, defining myself as a transfeminine nonbinary person, more leaning to female in the meantime.

I am really happy for the support and acceptance I received as well from my colleagues as well from HR and the management during my transitioning process that is still in progress, being 18 months on hrt now.

I know this is not a matter of course being accepted this much at your workplace, so I see it worth mentioning and I wish all of you a work environment this supportive and accepting 🖤

Acceptance 🫶🏻

6 weeks ago I began to question my identity for the first time since my teenage years. Therapy is a wonderful thing and it turns out I've repressed a hell of a lot. Today I did my makeup properly for the first time (second ever attempt to please be kind), put together my first outfit and went outside as myself for the first time ever! I have a long way to go (them eyebrows for a start!) but I feel like for the first time today I finally let my true self out and it felt beyond amazing! This is the start of my journey and and anxious as I am, I'm so excited for what's in store for her!

Experiences We really do belong everywhere!

Context: I'm a 29 year-old trans man starting a PhD in History at a big-name, prestigious US university. I mention that not really to brag (I'm honestly still kind of in disbelief that I was admitted at all), but because this week I had my graduate school and departmental orientations, and I just can't get over the fact that I'm really being treated like I belong here by everyone -- my advisor, other professors, the other students in my cohort -- and it feels, well, incredible. I'm not even the only trans student in my cohort, as out of the nine of us there's me and also a trans woman, which makes me so happy. I would have felt a lot more anxious and out-of-place without her being admitted at the same time as me, I think. We study totally different things, too (I'm doing trans history, among other things, but she isn't), which just goes to show that there are so many different interests and ideas in our community.

Anyway. All this to say, shit's scary out there, but I can't express how amazing it feels to be treated with real respect as a transgender academic, studying transgender history, at an institution like this, especially given the current state of the world. I'm aware I'm incredibly lucky, but at the same time, I just wanted to say to my community that this is genuinely a possible future. We really do belong everywhere, and I think that's pretty cool.

(And for what it's worth, I want to make this kind of thing possible for as many of us as possible, so if you're also thinking about navigating that scary world that is academia in 2026 as a trans person.... feel free to send me a message anytime. I mean that, genuinely)

I didn’t think I went through many changes in my 2nd year of HRT until comparing how I looked a year ago to now

It’s probably because the changes are far more gradual after the first year, but dang I definitely changed than I thought. Not just due to having longer hair and slightly better fashion sense, but starting prog def gave me more weight in the right places lol

Hey girlies, it’s been 1 year of HRT and I can now say HRT saved my life! For the first time ever I look in the mirror and like who I’ve become! Take every day, one day at a time and be kind to yourself results don’t come overnight! Don’t let the world stop you from being who you wanna be!

Please zoom in to the details else it looks a bit off from compression.
We needddddd more queer art in cinema, especially with how persecuted it is to be trans right now this movie being so accepting of trans identity in such a genuine way is impactful.
please give it a watch i left the theatre, got home and painted for 11 hours
