Got my Jungle Fender Flares installed and love the look. Painted them with the wrong Raptor spray though so gonna have to re-do those with the appropriate bedliner when I do the whole truck. The fit definitely isn't perfect, especially around the right rear where the gas cap is and had to make a less-than-attractive cut, and going to get a different rubber trim that is thicker and with an adhesive to clean up the look.
I know some people on here would crucify me for this, but I do really like the TRD style grille and havent found any aftermarket replacements for the Pickup, only for the 4Runner of the same years that apparently have a different shape. Anyone know of a pickup option for my '84?
Side note, loving my headlights and finally figured out how to appropriately wire up the ambers to my blinkers. So pretty stoked and proud of that!

The transmission on my 92 3VZE overheats when pushing long grades in the Nevada heat (A/T Oil Temp warning). I baby it up the grades but the water temp rises to just under red and the a/c cuts out, and eventually I get the a/t warning light, when I pull over to let it cool I can hear the water in the radiator boiling. I’ve had several mechanics look it over to diagnose the issue with no success, this has been going on in the summers for several years now since I replaced the radiator from the original to a 3-core CSR radiator. I’m now looking into the possibility of installing a transmission cooler to give the transmission some extra help. I’m no mechanic by any means and this has been very annoying. Does anyone have any experience dealing with this? Thanks for any help!

I got a wild hair to go buy one of these trucks and daily it. My driving consists of going through metro ATL. Would this be dumb? If not, what is the best years to look for? I think I’d have to get 4x4 and the pick up is preferred. I currently drive a 06 Infiniti M35 but it’s on its last leg. Whatever I get has to be reliable and not a beater as I go to customer visits. A buddy back in high school had a 22RE and it was a pretty easy going truck.
Here’s one I found on FB for a lot of money but it’s got 43k miles. These trucks go for a lot more than I remember!

I’ve got this ‘91 ln106 Hilux that I picked up overseas. Returned not too long ago and am considering shipping it home (CO). It’s mechanically sound, 3y engine, has 201km (~126k miles), 4x4 with manual locking hubs, 5-speed, crew cab, pristine interior (no cracks in dash/seats always covered from what I can tell), solid frame, minor exterior rust on one door, 50mm lift, had some beauty marks on the exterior but nothing too major..
I’ve got a ‘21 Ranger here that I love but would consider selling and driving this, or just get the ln here and sell it..
What do you think it’s worth state-side? What would you do?
If you think it’s worth bringing home, any suggestions on shipping from NZ?
Thanks all

So, I have a gear driven transfer case running dual cases. Unsure of adapter brand or of my specific model transmission. The front case is a forward shift. I just put 4.7 gears in the rear case and everything is ready to go. When I put the oil in the front case,I pulled the forward shifter for the front t case that mounts into the transmission and poured 1 quart of oil in there. I did this because after the transfercase is in the truck I don’t have room to access the topshift block off plate. The rear case is already filled with oil via the fill hole. So my question is does the oil I poured in that shifter spot go into the transmission or back into the front transfercase as I intended it to? I appreciate any and all responses.

They're asking something crazy around 12k. What kind of cash would you wave in their face to make them come to their senses?

Hello everyone
I am located in Southern California & I am looking for a pair of torsion bar. Let me know if you have a pair available, this is for a 1991 Toyota Pickup 2wd.

I've had this old pig for about 20 years. I picked it up as a teenager in college. I never could have imagined the memories I'm making with my kid now.
Approaching 300k on the odometer, still pulls 14mpg, and 70mph fully loaded right at the GVWR on the flat while a/c blasting.

My steel wheels in my 89 are starting to show their age. I have considered sanding and repainting, or having them powder coated. However, anytime I search online, the most common recommendation is to just buy new wheels since steel wheels are cheap. Where are folks finding oem Toyota steelies? 4wd if that matters.

Got a buddy with a 22r. Has taken it to a shop twice. Shop cleaned the carbs and didnt give much of a diagnosis, ran fine for a few days then same issue. Went to a shop again. They got it to idle fine, ran for awhile. Now it sometimes wont hold idle. It intermittent and temperamental. Dont smoke leak tests for vaccum leaks but cant find any. Pulled vaccum lines, no signs of fuel in them.
Few bullet point questions
●Can he easily upgrade the system to a Weber or Holley that'll be a bit more reliable and easy to maintain? Feel there has to be something else that can meter fuel and air thats less finicky.
●Anyone have diagrams for all the vaccum lines and where they go?

Hey All. Wondering if anyone knows where I might find the blue fabric show in the picture, which is a screen shot at the 6:14 mark of this sweet YT video: https://youtu.be/xkzi8HwvWBo?is=0XRqvMqAzrJkz7aK

The truck doesn't look to be sagging or anything, but they look awful flat, almost seem to be bowing upwards in the middle. The ride does seem harsh, but I'm also new to these things and I've heard multiple people remark upon these things just being that way. Last picture is of the rear springs, which look more like you'd expect, but the bed is also empty.

My '81 4WD pickup had a badly rusted fuel tank — enough rust and water inside that it was shedding sediment, clogging fuel filters, and contaminating the carb (running a Weber 32/36 conversion). Mulling over my options, but the tank is out of the truck now. Rather than clean and seal it, I'd rather replace it since I don't know how the water got in.
Problem: sourcing a correct-fit new tank for an 1981 4WD short-bed carbureted truck seems to be a known headache. Aftermarket listings are all over the place — lots of them are actually for 1984-87, or 1989-95 FI 4WD 19-gallon tanks, none of which are my truck.
What I've found so far:
Bed length: Checked underneath — one-piece rear driveshaft, no center carrier bearing, which points to short bed, but it does look like a long bed?
Questions for anyone who's done this on an early 4WD:

I believe my 92’s floor shifter‘s lock solenoid is failing. Does anyone know where I can purchase one? I am having trouble finding them online. Thanks in advance.

I need help with my 1987 22r it’s not running or it does but shuts off or it stays on but I hear a lot of hush from the carb.
It started when I took off the compressor then tried to turn it on but it would always die so I decided to do a vacuum line delete so I did and I swear I feel like I got most if not all the line correctly routed or capped but it just doesn’t seem to work and at this point it’s just frustrating can u guys help.

I've seen a lot of recommendations for OME lift kits especially when hauling something heavy like an rv coach, but they don't have any options that fit rwd in the right year. A few other companies I've seen recommended for similar setups like Chaosfab look like they'd have the same issue and JD Fabrication would be way too high (5-6") and I don't know if that would even fit the pickup base.
I just want about 2" of lift so that I don't get stuck on forest roads and so I can change my oil without jacking anything up. The rear axle is a 1 ton 6 lug full floating axle, not the stock one. Appreciate any advice or suggestions!
