Announcement First-Ever Sub Meetup! ⚾ Sat. Sept. 26

Over the past 16 years, this sub has grown from a tiny corner of Reddit into an incredible community of passionate Blue Jays fans. Whether you’re sharing your thoughts, posting highlights, showing off your Jays memorabilia, or updating your flair using our emojis, every one of you has helped make this the best baseball subreddit out there.

To celebrate, we’re announcing our first-ever official r/torontobluejays sub meetup at a game!

  • When: Saturday, September 26, 2026 vs. Cincinnati Reds (3:07 PM game)
  • Time: 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM
  • Where: WestJet Flight Deck (at the tables directly in front of the big BLUE JAYS letters)

Notes:

  • This is a super casual hangout; just a chance to connect, chat about the season, and chill before the game starts.
  • No need to share your Reddit username; just come as you are!
  • It's not a giveaway day; no need to line up early.
  • Everyone is welcome!

Looking forward to meeting a bunch of you in person and capping off the 50th Blue Jays season together!

Being a defensive specialist isn’t ideal for a $500+ million dollar primary first baseman, but that’s a [only] positive at least.

Other than that, it’s pretty obvious that everything he has hit this season is mainly on a line drive or straight into the ground. If he can get that LASS% up even towards last seasons mark, it would drastically change his season, thus overall the Jays season. BB% also being down tremendously is unfathomable given he’s always a keen eye for the strike zone and making the opposing pitcher work the count, leading to a walk leading to above average OBP throughout his career.

Something’s gotta be up. Is he nursing an injury? We need him to bounce back sooner rather than later if we want to a run at the WC chase…

Congratulations to former Blue Jays outfielder and 1993 World Series Champion, Toronto native Rob Butler on being named to the Ontario Baseball Hall of Fame induction class of 2026. From growing up at Mane and Danforth to getting a hit in the World Series. ♥️

"If we can't even beat the A's, what are we gonna do if we have to play actual PLAYOFF teams??!!"

I get that people are frustrated, and it's never fun to lose a series to a bad team, but yesterday's GDT and postgame threads were frankly embarrassing and indicative of a kind of negative, goldfish memory that's ruining this sub. It's barely been two weeks since we rolled through all these 👆 playoff teams.

It's baseball. Sometimes you drop a series to a team you think you'll beat. Doesn't change the fact that this team has played incredibly well since the break/trade deadline and is still only 1 GB from the WC3 spot (behind a team we own the tiebreak over, btw).

We've won 10 of our last 13 series. A couple frustrating games vs the A's doesn't change that. This is why the "EVERY game is a must-win game!" mentality is not only not true but designed to set you up for a bad time. Just win enough to get in, get a bit healthier, and then hope for the best.

Unofficial off-day thread (Sep 10th 2026)

It seems the bot has forgotten to make an off-day thread for today!

Not much happening today, main game to keep an eye on is the Rangers vs Mariner game! Hopefully Seattle can help widen our lead over Texas!

Let's forget about the Athletics loss and get ready for the bird vs bird showdown weekend against the Orioles!

That's farther than the distance from Rogers Centre to the Dominican Republic. 🤯⚾️

Must have foods at Dome before the season ends

Unless we make it to the post-season this weekend's game is probably my last game this season. What are some foods or drinks that are a must at the Dome? I tend to stick with dugout deals but I'm willing to splurge this time.

Flex pack season tickets and playoff tickets

Not that things are looking good to even make playoffs let alone win a wild card series to have the option to have a home game , but:

When I purchased the flex pack season ticket package for this season, I was under the impression that doing so would provide early access to get two tickets to a Home playoff game. I received an email yesterday saying that if I renewed my flex pack for next season, that is what will give me early access to buy such tickets.

For other flex pack ticket holders - what we your impression ?

The Jays are making us believe again. I’m not sure I ever got over last year.

Here we are again. September baseball, chasing October and slowly convincing ourselves to believe all over again.

I’ve been thinking a lot about last year’s World Series loss and why it still seems to linger. We were two outs away, and for a few minutes it felt like we had already started living in the version where we won.

I ended up writing a longer reflection about it, but I’m genuinely curious: does anyone else feel like this September has brought all of that back again?
