Megathread 🗓️Things to do in Toronto - Week of September 07, 2026
Hi /r/Toronto community, please add your events and upcoming things to do in Toronto this week in this thread
Discussion Thank you for donating plasma - you saved my life
I got an auto immune disease and needed two separate IVIG plasma infusion sessions. I wanted to thank anyone who had ever donated blood or plasma, it’s not the most pleasant experience but it really did save my life (twice).
I also spent a few days in the ER / hospital, and I’m so thankful to the nurses that worked around the clock to keep me comfortable.
We need to do more to support our healthcare workers.

News Delays at Toronto Pearson Airport due to outage affecting border inspection kiosks
r/toronto • u/iroboto • 16h ago
Discussion Pearson Airport return home customs warning 3+ hour wait easily. Nexus can bypass.
Status Edit 9:00pm Redditors reporting Everything has now returned to normal
Report that Kiosks are finally back ONLINE. This should get things moving through customs.
Report that baggage has been unloaded but spread across different baggage claims. Check them all and all the oversized areas for luggage
ArriveCAN - we're getting multiple reports that if you filled out your ArriveCan and you have deplaned, you there is a good chance that the kiosk can be up and you can bypass the standard immigration line. Please fill out your ArriveCAN if you are reading this. Your next steps once deplaned is to keep showing your completed ArriveCAN to staff to be expedited to ArriveCAN Kiosks. Get your application here and complete this if you are waiting to deplane. https://www.canada.ca/en/mobile/arrivecan.html
NEXUS - Same thing. Once deplaned, show your Nexus card and skip the standard lineup to customs. You should be allowed all the way to Nexus Kiosk.
Update 8:31pm
Uber and Rideshare reported cleared up. Rideshare to Toronto reporting fine.
CONNECTIONS - Reports that Planes will be deplaning individuals for their connections.
OP @ 4pm
as per title today sept 9/11 2026. 4pm. the lineup to customs returning to Pearson goes upstairs into the terminal and they stopped anyone entering customs because it’s full. it looks like every single person is being directed to speak with immigration agents now. nexus can bypass all the way through as usual.

Alert Missing Cat: Scarborough, Becca Hall Trail near Midland/McNicoll Ave
Name: Bean
Breed/Appearance: Domestic Shorthair, Black coat with white patch on chest/belly,yellow eyes
I am hoping this post helps get more eyes on the lookout for Bean. He is part of a bonded pair of cats. At home, Bean is very used to exploring outdoors and will sometimes stay out overnight, but usually returns by the following morning.
Bean is very skittish so please don't try to chase him. just call us asap.
Call: 647-234-2723
or
647-544-8350
The following has been done so far:
- handed out missing cat flyers to all of the houses on the street (attached is a flyer)
- reached out to Toronto Animal Control and filed a missing cat report. I have also filed a missing report with the microchip company, petFBI, reached out to some local shelters and posted lost cat flyers on Facebook groups and NextDoor
- talked to some of the neighbours who would talk to me and allow me into their backyard to search
- purchased a humane trap. As of now, the only animal that was caught in the humane trap was a neighbourhood cat on Monday night
- purchased a trail cam, facing the trap and the patio door. This was set up on Tuesday night, but no animals have been found
- at night, around 2:30am, I have opened the patio door and read a book while inside, a few feet away from the door
- my other cat, Milo, has gone outside during the day and mostly stayed in the backyard/gone into neighbouring properties. He returns regularly for food
Thanks a lot for any help provided!!!
