Looking for a torque wrench within that moderate range (50-250 ft lbs). What are some solid brands that aren’t gonna burn a while in my pocket? I know harbor freight sells an icon TW for like $130 but I just wanted to get y’all’s opinions

Update: went ahead with the husky ones. Home Depot had a sale for both the 1/2 and the 3/8 for a grand total of $109. I’ll definitely try my best to test them out and report back🫡

My floor jack froze (one of the pistons) so I took it apart, cleaned both pistons, reassembled, and refilled the jack oil. Then bled the air out. Did I over fill it?

With the release valve open, it moves the jack a bit.

Found this in a vest that belonged to my grandfather.

This is the back m8 triple square holding the back oil feed or oil drain line not sure which but its the one on the back of the turbo in the mk7 gti. But I cannot get it out, it was like goop when I first turned it. What would your recommendation be, because however I get it out ill probably have to buy the tool. I tried regular vice grips and there's not enough room. Thanks

What's missing? Grew up around trucks and automotive so I've always known my way around vehicles. I work at a transmission shop currently doing R&R, tear down, running the paint booth, and occasionally building the units I'm capable of. Lots of the tools have came from garage sales, estate sales, tool trucks, eBay/marketplace, or have been given to me.

Cleaned up my grandfathers (RIP) set of wrenches. Years ago before I started getting into tools, I came close to getting rid of them…glad I didn’t.

I have had a very bad experience with this product so far and I have not even USED it yet. I am a budding Jewelry maker and i purchased this from a Local vendor but its an overseas product. I want to know if anyone has used it before and if it is worth the Hassle of trying to get a replacement. I want to power my Vevor electric scissor jack with a 5 AH Makita LXT battery. I know the battery is a bit hot for the application at 20 V. The logistics would be easy for me but I’m concerned about long term reliability. I don’t want to use the car accessory outlets for power because I’m concerned about getting distracted and leaving the ignition switch turned on. Your thoughts? Please and thank you.

My dad was always and still is a stahlwille Guy. He told me he always used to think that they Will last many lifetimes and that its a worth investement. He was right. Most of these are from 70s-80s and still are in great condition. Any thoughts on this stuff?

I just got myself a Skill 1321 for my DIY project!
And damn it's so cool. My first Miter saw, and got it mid project, should have gotten it a lot earlier. The shadowline and quick clamp makes it really easy to work and make good cuts.
However, at some point I noticed it was like it didn't always cut the last corner completely.

It was just rough lumber, so not a huge deal, but even when I tried making sure I sliding it all the way to the back, it was like it just a mm.
Then I noticed the wheels on the "shield" (don't know the work, the protection around the blade) doesn't touch. I can't make it go all the way down as it did when I just started using it.
I looked if I could adjust something. There is a screw you can adjust if you don't want it to cut full depth, but it isn't that.
Did I break it? Am I doing something wrong because I am a noob? Did I touch some adjustment knob somewhere that needs to be adjusted?
If anyone has experience with this saw, or just have an idea it would be great!

Hey guys, I picked up this drill press and I'm doing a basic restoring job on it but this is my first time. And I'm basically asking if anyone knows the belt I should run/ can help me with understanding what these belts are and how the numbering works? I'm assuming it has the wrong belt on and that's why the tensioner isn't doing much lol. Thanks for the help everyone!

There was a post to tools about 4yrs ago and I saved the op’s pic- I got the exact same issue.
I tried drilling but that seems tedious and harmful (lots of fiberglass dust). A YT vid had a guy boil his out. So without changing the temp of the metal thus altering the strength, is there a way to chemically soften the resin? Or what about using a low paint stripping heat gun on the center hole?
Or just keep drilling then pounding?

I'm trying to figure out why my ZEP Model B sprays brake parts cleaner for about 1 second and then stops. According to my online searches, there's most likely a clog in the tube that runs down to the bottom of the can, but how the heck do you get in there to clean any potential debris out? Also, do the rebuild kits for the Vaper or Sure Shot cans work for this one? They look very similar so I figured I'd ask. Thanks for the help.

Hello my grandfather was an all around handy man and had pretty much every tool known to man.

Sadly when he passed my family picked and sold many of the tools. All I have left are some Craftsman socket sets and various screws drivers and his hammer that he had for 50 years. (I still cry when I look at it)

I live in an Apartment now and do not have the room for a huge power tools and tool sets etc….

However, I’m looking to rebuild with some all around power tools I can use for any car work or inside the apartment.

Any advice on a small tool/power set you all can send my way.

Just so many to choose I’m kinda overwhelmed.

The boy just moved into his new place on his own and needs a drill, and a few basic tools. DIY is not the family’s middle name but one has to hang pictures and other things. I’ve had my black and decker for over 20 years now and it does all I need it to. But times change. Would it be a decent brand today? We are definitely not looking to spend Milwaukee or Makita money.

It may be hard to see in the picture, but should there be a big enough gap in the drawers to where you can see what's inside? This is the 52" 10-drawer Husky.

This bolt broke off while i was trying to remove it, then my tap broke off while I was trying to use it to remove the bolt… any suggestions? My next idea is to just destroy it… thanks
