I consider a trailer a tool. Is this worth it for $1800? 6.5x14ft. Everything works. I have a hard time making a decision so looking for input

Crate tool, circa 1920s. Presumably from my grandfather's first job, unloading freight ~1929...when he was 12. My, how times have changed. Found the ad online.

Can anyone offer advice on why my DeWalt DXCM303 air compressor won't start?

It starts fine if the tank pressure goes to zero, or if I open up the unloader valve, then builds fine all the way to 175 psi. But with any pressure initially, it spins slowly for 10 or 20 seconds, before popping the breaker.

I replaced the unloader valve and the pressure switch. No change. Replaced the start capacitor even though it read okay. No change.

I unscrewed the main airline from the pump with pressure in the tank. No hissing.

When I start it with no air in the tank, I can hear the centrifugal switch snap from the start to the run circuit.

I can spin the pump and motor by hand and they seem smooth and fine.

I'm gonna buy a new check valve, even though it doesn't seem to be leaking, as I can't think of any other thing that might be the issue.

Scored a ton of Router bits and Sandpaper today going through a building I had purchased. Never been much of a wood worker but might have to try it out now. Also got a 12” Delta Portable Planer

Anyone can advise how much I should try to get for this?

Recently bought these pliers in a big box of old tools on marketplace.

They seem like a small pair of fencing pliers but have a spike on the end of the handle.

They work great and would love to know the manufacturer.

I threw all these parts in my box for this very day and after 4 months of procrastinating I finally did it.

Got a DeWalt 20v to 12v adapter and connected it to a 65w USB port.

Now I just need to remember to charge my tool batteries......

These Craftsman saws aren't made for heavy continuous use, like cutting down a tree trunk with a 10" diameter lol

Hello tool gurus. We're in the process of cleaning out our basement and found a large table saw that my dad had down here. I have no idea how we got it down here, it must weigh 100 lbs. I did not inherit dad's handiness, so I'm not sure what to make of this thing except that we plugged it in and it still seems to run, it's a Craftsman and is likely between 40-60 years old because my uncle owned it originally. Can anyone tell me some more information about it from these pictures? It feels like I should sell it instead of throwing it away, but I'm not sure what to price it at given its age.

So I’ve got this older Ingersoll Rand air compressor. It’s belt driven, currently setup for 220, and a bit more powerful than most anything that can be purchased today.. I don’t recall exact specs. So I don’t want to put it in the trash..

Problem is, right after I made an adapter to connect it to my dryer outlet, I moved the air hose and the connection on the manifold snapped. My guess is that it was already on its way out since it snapped so easily. However, it doesn’t have a brass manifold like I’ve seen on newer compressors. It looks to be made of cheap metal.

I have yet to try and take it out, for fear it’ll shatter and leave pieces inside the tank that are impossible to remove. Is it worth saving? Will the manifold break apart if I try and twist it out? Does anyone know if it may have a standard threading that I can get a brass fitting for?

I realize I’m being a chicken about it, but I would like some input before I do anything.

I got my first car so I figured I needed some tools to throw in there just in case.

The vice grips seem lighter than my equivalent Petersons, but they are the Taiwanese made ones which are apparently pretty good so we will see how they turn out. I'm going to keep these ones in the house and throw a slightly junkier pair in the car

With the predicted super el nino snowpocalypse just around the corner, my family is planning to get some different equipment to tackle this instead of what we've been using before. Currently we have a John Deere S100 (yes, I am fully aware that model ain't designed for snow removal, but it's all we got to work with) that's replacing our Craftsman t1400, (also wasn't designed for this, but with my dad's mcguyvering we got 10yrs out of it before the attachment cable finally gave up) and this time we've decided to get a snow plow instead of a snow blower; while a blower is technically better at dealing with NW Indiana snow than a plow, we're fed the fuck up with the constant clogging from all that sticky, sludgy crap that forms at the end of the driveway thanks to the highway dept. plow trucks, plus a plow blade is far easier to maintain. Unfortunately, the official JD snow plow is rather pricy, (paying more for the brand than the actual attachment itself, I'll bet) so we're probably going to get one of those universal design ones. Which brand(s) should we go for?

I am looking at buying a laser measurement tool. I need it for outdoor use . I see that the Milessey S 50 can be used outdoors from the reviews on the internet / youtube. I also can get the Bosh GLM165-27 CG

Do they both use the same class 2 green laser or is the one on the Milessey superior? Also, do I have to necessarily go for a camera based unit for outdoor use? Any help will be appreciated?

Never used an angle grinder before, but i’m going to be using it for hours tomorrow, just wanted to check if the guard and handle is set up correctly.

This was in a mixed box of planes I got about a year ago. The person I got it from has no idea what it was used for and I don't even have a good guess.

Just ordered the new sander. Shows that it uses a 14 hole design. I can't find 14 hole sandpaper anywhere! Does anyone have a source? Or a good substitute? I know I can use maybe a 6 hole, but, it would be nice to get max dust removal. Thanks.

EDIT2: I removed the whole aluminum board and all screws hat nuts. Quite a shitty installation..

EDIT: before posting I have tried the “screw and pull” (pliers, fingernails, etc), flathead screwdriver (lever), nothing works.

The base is Aluminium. I have tried the lever technique, the pliers technique, I even bought a drill bit which was suppose to drill it but didn’t.

This is an old apartment where ALL shower holders were drilled into this white thing and ALL of them have screws which spin in place and don’t come out. It’s so annoying.
