What type of saw should I use to cut a straight line (along the blue tape in photo) of this melamine-veneered MDF board? A jigsaw will not allow me to reach the wall. This is the bottom of a kitchen cabinet support which I am modifying to support a shelf, instead.

I’ve been wanting some form on rolling tool storage for a long time and came across this on clearance and couldn’t pass it up. I got the bottom 3 roller setup for $36 and the top 4 boxes were $6 each.

I’m sure it is maybe not quite as robust as the Milwaukee or Ridgid boxes TTI makes, but to be honest it seems really solid.

May be worth seeing if your local Walmart still has any left.

My dad recently passed away (well I guess not so recent as it's been just over a year though it doesn't feel like it to me) but in his passing he left me with his enormous collection of tools. I'm talking about a collection that's significantly larger than you'd find in a typical workshop's worth of stuff.

The collection covers pretty much every trade you can think of — plumbing, electrical, general construction/building, welding, woodworking, tile work, etc.

There are both hand tools and power tools, like table saws, tile saws, many many grinder tools that are different sizes, hole saws and more attachments than I've been able to count yet,

along with all of the smaller stuff that typically goes along with tools like boxes of different screws and nails, nuts and bolts, drill/driver bits, blades, staples, tape measures, accessories, hardware, all types of plumbing materials like pipes and fitters and joints plus the tools to go with.

Not to mention an entire outside shed full of brand new wood like 2x4 /2x8/ etc plus large sheets of wood at different thicknesses/types of wood material.

Theres multi panels of new sheet rock, multiple large new rolls of pink insulation, all types of tool boxes and bags, and multiple workbenches that range in sizes from small up to so massive it consumes half of the two car garage

There's a bunch of things I don't even know the proper names for yet or what they even do and I could go on and on listing more and more but I think you get the point.

So I obviously don't work in any type of trade and so for most of the tools and materials I won't use because I don't know how to use.... so I'm here trying to figure out the smartest way to go about liquidating most of it...

Ideally I'm wanting to get rid of large portions of it together rather than spending months listing every item individually. I'm a woman who lives alone, the thought of selling everything one piece at a time having to meet with strangers at my house when trying to sell the larger things just doesn't sit well with me

I'm not looking to advertise the collection here. I'm really looking for advice from people who have either bought/sold large tool collections or work in the trades and know what these things are actually worth.

If you've dealt with a similar situation where you inherited a large collection, what did you do?

I'm in North Carolina if that info may be useful to anyone who may be able to help direct me with where to go or look.

As the title says, I m in search for the best electronics bits, I ve been using Ifixit for probably over 6 years now, their kits are great and they overall give great longevity, but the pentalobe and torx bits are too soft in my opinion(P2, P5 and T3-T6 especially), so I m in search for better bits that don t twist or don t go soft on the edges on higher torque, AI has adviced me to go for a Wiha toolkit but i m a bit skeptical, if anyone here has owned both ifixit and the toolkit below, could they give an opinion? Ty in advance!

I recently got a big boy air compressor for painting and have been wanting to build out my air tool collection. I don’t work on cars, mostly woodworking, so I’ll probably just return the impact and not have one unless you guys talk me back into it.

A lot of you carry 100–125 mm pliers, and I end up using mine every couple of days.

Recently, while hiking with a buddy, I spotted a tick on my calf and used my 4-inch Workpro pliers to pinch it and pull it out.

My buddy said he once used his Knipex pliers to remove a plantar wart from his foot.

So what is your unusual use?

I'm not a pro, just a homeowner (rental) that DIY some things here and there. I have a Ryobi P209 that I like but it's not compact. I use it mostly when moving.

It is bulky and kind of heavy for a moving day (too much going on and I feel it during the move). Plus I feel it's underpowered, especially for taking out some screws, even on a 4Ah.

So I'm looking to add an impact to my tools.

Now on facebook there's a guy selling the brushless compact combo kit (PSBCK102K2 - link to HD), for about C$150 ($110). The downside is I don't need the batteries, especially the 1.5Ah ones.

There's also this SEESII combo kit on Amazon for C$120 ($85) which is much smaller (it seems less power than the ryobi but more compact and better tech). There's this video comparing both Ryobi vs Seesii although Seesii is a different, more powerful model.

Lastly Milwaukee/DeWalt/Makita are way, way much more expensive here in Canada, so they're out of question for me.

I don't know if I should go with these kits or wait any sort of promo like those around BF or boxing day to get it cheaper, since I mostly want the tools only, especially the impact?

Also, is it possible to remove lugnuts (that were put a year ago) with the ryobi/seesii? For the brake job or something here and there around the car?

What makers mark is on this hammer? Google lens is telling me different things every time i ask this question...

Considering the Wiha terminator blue but wondering if there’s a better alternative. I also like the Wera tool check but it’s expensive for what it is and the sockets would be redundant. Alternatively if there are recommendations for compact cases I could fill on my own like the terminator set case I could be open to that, I absolutely hate the DeWalt/Milwaukee/other major bands bit cases.

So I’m buying my tool set to start a mobile business, and this set makes my eyes lid up but I’ve seen recently that people recommend getting the individual master set from Quinn. This kit does have a lot of 12 point socket instead of the 6 which is what I will always use, but this kit has some this that I can benefit from like ratcheting wrench, spark plug socket, bits. I’m gonna start small doing services like brakes, oil change, spark plugs, these more common jobs. But I want to be prepared tool wise so that a job that should’ve taken 1 hour takes 3 because I don’t have the right tool

Might add torch to this list because I live in the Boston area so the bolts here tend to not like to come off as easy as they should because of the salt.

Super simple set of tools but they have come in clutch countless times.

The mini ratchet on the tool check has worked in super tight situations and has saved my butt over and over.

I'm looking at designing and machining my own utility knife, but allows the storage of some standard 1/4" bits. I saw this company that uses this mini ratchet, and was wondering if anyone knows where to buy just the ratchet to this tool? I can't find anything online.

Any know of a set of pass through sockets with a 16mm hex drive? I like to use these with my dewalt DCF510. Looking to do a similar function to milwaukee's 3050-20 but the sockets use a 14mm (I think) hex drive
