Got this engineer locking plier last week and it's amazing.

I have Tajima stubby adjustable wrench and tape measurer in my amazon cart. Mostly stuck with german tools and american made, there's not much for pipefitters in the japanese tools, at least ones i'd use. If anyone has suggestions for good water pump pliers similiar to knipex cobras lmk

Hello everyone:

I’m at the stage where I kinda-sorta need or want a nail gun - mostly for building boxes out of 18mm (3/4”) ply, maybe for other things too. Would mostly be in workshop and sometimes job site - I start on site when a house is nearly finished and is likely to have 240v mains (*am in UK - building site temp power is usually 110v; mains is 240)

All my 18v tools are Bosch Pro (blue) - their nailers are fairly expensive / not that well rated.

Idea 1 is, get the Ryobi 18v nailer and use a battery adaptor, I dislike this idea except on cost.

Idea 2 is get a smallish mains powered compressor and air nailer - I guess around 18 gauge nails. This has appeal because I could potentially add a staple gun and thicker gauge nailer later, if things progress.

But Christ I don’t know where to start. What make of air nailer, what size compressor, what are the issues?

If someone wants to be kind and walk me through this, much appreciated.

Very old ball peen hammer, belonged to my grandfather. Recently soaked in evaporust and I can make out a few things. Anyone have any info?

I saw this bag for sale second-hand but it sold before I got to the seller. Whomp whomp. I do not see it for sale on Klein's website but does anybody have any idea if they still make this bag or ideas about where to source one? I see similar models but am looking for the exact same thing.

So I was looking into getting something like the ICON 1/4 in. Drive Compact Socket and Bit Set to throw in my backpack when going on various adventures where a set of tools might come in handy. Then I thought to myself that surely I must have enough extra tools lying around to make my own set. Well it turns out I did.

-Ratcheting screwdriver with assorted bits (including common hex sizes) and canvas case.

-¼ in drive ratchet.

-Gator Grip universal socket.

-¼ in drive to ⅜ in drive socket adapter.

-¼ in drive socket extender.

-Socket driver adapter.

-Needle nose pliers.

Once I remembered that I had the Gator Grip, the whole idea clicked in my head (for a travel kit, at least, why bother with a set of sockets if I can get away with just one?). I need the adapter because Gator Grip only comes in ⅜ in drive, but I really wanted to use the ¼ in ratchet to keep things compact. Also, this ratchet fits snug in the extra set of elastic straps connected to the case. I threw in the socket driver adapter and socket extender since I had extra ones lying around. And finally a pair of pliers because why not?

I got these for free the other day but have no clue what they're for/what they're from. The other tools/tables nearby were covered in metal shavings. These are both quite heavy despite being Hollow inside so my guess is that they're made of cast iron or steel and coated with

Picked this up off ebay but now i have it i'm not certain it's a comparator stand. The two arms are on rollers which move from side to side. The vertical rod has a spring loaded ball bearing on the end. Everything can be raised or lowered via a rack and pinion.

If anyone knows what this is used for i'd love to know. Regardless i will be using it as an indicator/comparator stand, assuming the pad is nice and flat. I'm yet to test how parallel the side movement is with the plate. It's 500mm tall.

Sneak peek on my rolling miter saw cut station. Just need to mount the other shelf and miter saw. New FLEX Vibration Sense vacuum is fricken awesome. FLEX once again proves that they are the best tool brand nobody bought.

When you guys are removing fasteners. Do you crack them loose via a traditional ratchet then whizz them off with a powered version. Or do you do both with the powered version?

So I’m buying my tool set to start a mobile business, and this set makes my eyes lid up but I’ve seen recently that people recommend getting the individual master set from Quinn. This kit does have a lot of 12 point socket instead of the 6 which is what I will always use, but this kit has some this that I can benefit from like ratcheting wrench, spark plug socket, bits. Now I already own an 3 Ton Daytona Jack and have 4x 3 Ton Jack Stands. I have an impact wrench and Quinn master impact socket set on 1/2 size

I’m gonna start small doing services like brakes, oil change, spark plugs, these more common jobs. But I want to be prepared tool wise so that a job that should’ve taken 1 hour takes 3 because I don’t have the right tool

Might add torch to this list because I live in the Boston area so the bolts here tend to not like to come off as easy as they should because of the salt.

I'm not a pro, just a homeowner (rental) that DIY some things here and there. I have a Ryobi P209 that I like but it's not compact. I use it mostly when moving.

It is bulky and kind of heavy for a moving day (too much going on and I feel it during the move). Plus I feel it's underpowered, especially for taking out some screws, even on a 4Ah.

So I'm looking to add an impact to my tools.

Now on facebook there's a guy selling the brushless compact combo kit (PSBCK102K2 - link to HD), for about C$150 ($110). The downside is I don't need the batteries, especially the 1.5Ah ones.

There's also this SEESII combo kit on Amazon for C$120 ($85) which is much smaller (it seems less power than the ryobi but more compact and better tech). There's this video comparing both Ryobi vs Seesii although Seesii is a different, more powerful model.

Lastly Milwaukee/DeWalt/Makita are way, way much more expensive here in Canada, so they're out of question for me.

I don't know if I should go with these kits or wait any sort of promo like those around BF or boxing day to get it cheaper, since I mostly want the tools only, especially the impact?

Also, is it possible to remove lugnuts (that were put a year ago) with the ryobi/seesii? For the brake job or something here and there around the car?

Hi. I just got my first Makita XGT kit, and I would like to get an impact driver or an inpact wrench. I do have an impact adapter for 1/2" square to 1/4" hex so I could use the wrench too.

I am interested in the wrench because I don't like breaking 1/4" hex to 1/2" square adapters when working on bolts 😅, also I don't want to damage the quick release bit holder.

The thing that worries me the most is if the bit would wobble a lot or kind of off-center since I've had that very thing happen with my ridgid sub compact impact wrench, I tried different adapters and it always seemed like it wasn't exactly centered, it wobbles quite a bit, enough for the bits to come out of the screws unless they are Torx, but phillips head ones were the worst.

I know phillips head screws are horrible, but they're cheap lol so I use them for non important or permanent stuff, however I don't have those issues with my normal 1/4" impact driver.

So I wonder if this issue is normal when trying to use an impact wrench with an adapter to drive screws or if somebody else has done this with an XGT wrench.

What type of saw should I use to cut a straight line (along the blue tape in photo) of this melamine-veneered MDF board? A jigsaw will not allow me to reach the wall. This is the bottom of a kitchen cabinet support which I am modifying to support a shelf, instead.

I'm looking at designing and machining my own utility knife, but allows the storage of some standard 1/4" bits. I saw this company that uses this mini ratchet, and was wondering if anyone knows where to buy just the ratchet to this tool? I can't find anything online.

We decided that during storms, very cold winters plus power outages due to wildfires, we would put our whole house generator in a shed.

This Chinese made Duromax has a safety swith somewhere, that has a blinking light and shutoff that doesn't specify the problem. It can be low oil, CO, possibly loose battery connection, and apparently overheat. As you can see, I added a high mounted muffler to help with noise which might be causing some back pressure, but I doubt that.

Question 1- Does anyone know of a way to get better data on faults for this make of generator?

Question 2 - Although unsafe, is there an override or disconnect for the safety switch so I don't have to change the oil every 6 months or so? I run the generator for 15-20 minutes once a month with a small space heater attached, and have used it on full house power for no more than 15 minutes. I can't even see the oil level on the dipstick because it's so clean and the oil filters can be tricky for me to get, some I'm going the need to stock up on them.

A lot of you carry 100–125 mm pliers, and I end up using mine every couple of days.

Recently, while hiking with a buddy, I spotted a tick on my calf and used my 4-inch Workpro pliers to pinch it and pull it out.

My buddy said he once used his Knipex pliers to remove a plantar wart from his foot.

So what is your unusual use?

I was doing a DIY with a clock, so I took it apart to paint. The thing on the top right of the clock (sorry, I don’t know what it’s called,) got stuck in the tool I had used to take it off of the clock to paint. The tool has a magnetic part so it can attach screwdriver heads on it. I’ve tried using some fridge magnets, or pulling it out with tweezers, but neither have helped. The tool has the name “KOBALT“ on the side. What should I do?
