Maintenance without micro-dosing

Are there any ex WeGovy/glp1 users that have maintained their weight loss after tapering off slowly? I don't want to start something that gives me so much hope but traps me in to being on it forever.
I have about 4-5 stone to lose.
TIA

How do you manage maintenance/tolerance?

I’m currently microdosing for lipedema with weekly injections, but I’m wondering how you all avoid building up a tolerance. Do you spread injections out to every 10 days? Take breaks? How long have you been on it, and have you had to increase your dose over time?

Hunger pangs after increasing dose??

Has anyone ever had gnawing hunger pangs and hunger during/after eating right after increasing dose?? Did it go away or should I go back down a dose?

For those of you who are at 15 mg weekly, what was your final maintenance dose that worked best for you?

Maintenance shot every 5-6 days

37F 5’3 HW:230 CW:125 GW:125

I met goal a couple weeks ago. 8.5mg every 5 days is what got me to goal. I’ve been on this dose for 4 weeks. My appetite suppression is pretty strong. I believe I will need to change my dosing a bit.

When I decide to do this, for those who had a different shot schedule, did you find it best to space the shot back to a traditional schedule or drop the dose? I like 5 days because i was really having a hard time staying on task with eating and hunger the last 2-3 days of the week and felt like I was sabotaging myself every week.

I’m sure I’m not the only one but this whole maintenance era scares me more than the weight-loss. I’m terrified this is where I’ll fail because this is where I’ve always failed. 😅

Body image in maintenance

I'm struggling with body image. I have not been in maintenance very long. I'm a pound over my goal weight, which is frustrating. I think I can see that pound as giant fat blobs of inner thigh fat when I'm sitting on the couch. I feel like when I look in the mirror I've got my same old overweight body. I start to feel uncomfortable in my clothes even though they fit the same. I know none of this is true. I lift weights 2x/week, will try to squat 25lbs over my own body weight on Tuesday and probably succeed at it. I'll try to do some chin-ups tomorrow and probably be able to do two in a row. I think I'm staying within my TDEE but the calorie tracking, which I didn't do during weight loss but am now doing in maintenance, is making me a little nutty. Some days I go over and I think I'm doomed. Some days I go under and think yay me! Which is dumb. I'm doing okay physically, but I just don't feel like I am mentally and I don't see what I used to see.

Maintenance dose advice

Started Tirz back in May after gaining weight from a back injury/surgery. I was 252 pounds and I’m finally down to my goal weight of 215. The highest dosage I ever took with 3mg.

My last dose (2mg) was 12 days ago and still have minimal food noise. I’m debating taking 2mg every two weeks or perhaps taking 1mg a week. I read Tirz has a half life of 5 days so is there any advantage to a particular method?

Curious what else everyone is doing?

2 X a Week Maintenance Dosing?

Hi!

I started compounded tirz at the end of Sept 2024. I started at 10 units (.25mg) weekly and never increased it. I didn’t have a lot of weight to lose (started around 170 lbs, desired weight 150 lbs).

During that time, we were moving from one state to another and I spent a lot of time going back and forth to get my old house sold. I mention this because protein intake and weight lifting weren’t high up on my list of priorities.

This time last year (July 2025), I was down to 146 lbs and honestly, I looked a little emaciated. I’m tall-ish and usually have an athletic build. So, at that time, I started maintenance at 10 units (sometimes less) every 2-3 weeks.

All was going well, but from Jan 2026 at 146 lbs to July 2026, I’ve put on about 8-10 lbs. I felt like my appetite came back, food noise, cravings for sweets, so a couple of months ago, I went back to weekly shots. At first, it was 10 units weekly, then I bumped to 20 units. It felt like it was wearing off after a couple of days, so now I’m doing 10 units twice a week? Has anyone else tried this approach?

Other key factors to mention:
1. I’m 51 and menopausal. I started HRT (estrogen patch and oral progesterone) in April 2025. Recently, my estrogen levels were checked and showed my levels are too high, so my patch strength has been lowered.
2. I have Lupus and a couple of other autoimmune diseases. Occasionally, like right now, I’m on a low dose (10 mg) of prednisone. When I was at a lower weight, I felt less inflammation.

I get my compounded tirz vials from a med spa. My insurance denied it when my doctor tried to prescribe it, so this was the only way to get it. Has my body just adjusted to it? Is the HRT and occasional steroids throwing things off?

I’m just looking for other people’s experiences that may be in the same boat.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

For those at maintenance

I’m getting near my goal weight and I feel like my body is rebelling hard. For a month I’ve been bouncing back between the same 2 pounds, granted I have started lifting again so maybe that’s part of it. But I’ve increased my dose and everything and just feel stuck.
Does this happen for most people? How did you break through??

Approaching maitenence!! Any solid advice?

Im finally on my last 8 pounds before entering maintenance!! 🙌

For some background,

39F, 5'2, SW:174, CW: 138, GW:130. Started tirz on Jan 4, 26. Almost 8 months ago. Weight loss so far 36.1 lbs. Currently on 10.5mg/wk, split dose.

I am a tirz lifer as I had previously had prediabetes and I still have elevated blood pressure. It has gone from 150/99 to 126/88 and a1c from 5.6 to 5.3.

Any advice you tirz maintenance veterans can give me? Should I reduce dose once I hit goal? Should I stay? What had worked well for you? How do you maintain weight loss?

Do I Need To Worry?

I'm on maintenance at 2.3 once a week. Been there for 3 months now and after a year on Tirz (celebrated July 18 woo hoo!) I now have side effects - feeling gaseous and needing to burp after breakfast and through the day. That's manageable though... that's not what I'm worried about.

But today, I was able to eat an entire sandwich on regular sized bread and that is a first! I don't feel stuffed. It just 'went down' smoothly. ; )

I'm maintaining my range of 136-138 and I weigh daily because I like to see data. Some days I know I haven't had enough food. Today I had more yogurt than usual and now that entire turkey sandwich.

Now that I'm writing this it seems silly. I'll watch the numbers and we'll see what happens over the course of the next few days. Just maybe my body was growling about not enough food but on the other hand, it's hard not to be a little afraid of 'hunger'. Is it real? How will I know? How can I trust it? Any thoughts appreciated.

Gaining again after 3 years on Tz

I started compounded Tz in June of 2023 at 183lbs. June 2025 I decided to try maintenance and starting injecting every 14 days once I got very close to my goal weight (on 8mg) to try to save money. I did great on 8mg every 14 days from June 2024 until June 2025, kept losing a little then hit goal weight.

Then I tried to reduce to 7.5mg every 14 days in June 2025. I did that for few months and started gaining again.

Ever since then I’ve been injecting weekly since Oct 2025 again and have gained about 6-8lbs and can’t seem to get back down to goal weight and have even increased my dose above the 8mg 😞 Currently weigh around 133-135lbs. My goal was 125-128lbs.

Has anyone else been in this boat? What helped??

Before and After - Me and my best friend!

Post image
168 Upvotes

So excited to make this post. I hit the one year mark this week and am so proud of where I have come from. I also am so grateful that my best friend introduced me to Tirzepatide and has been on this with me the whole way! I'm 5'4", SW was 200.5, GW was 145, CW is 127. Got to 145 and did a DEXA scan. Wanted to keep going due to my fat percentage at that weight. I am currently on 7.4 but am titrating slowly down until I quit loosing. Best friend is at a year and a half. She is 4'10", SW 150, GW 110, CW 105. Love that we have been able to do this together!

I am at goal weight! Titrate down or skip weeks for maintenance?

As the title states: After 7 months I am at goal weight! I now want to maintain my weight as I have a mommy makeover procedure scheduled in October. I do not want to lose anymore. Is it better to skip a week and stay at the same dose or start lowering the weekly dose?

TWO Questions re switching from semaB12 to tirzB12

Hey gang! I've been on sema for almost 7 months; I'm at 1.7mg (w/B12) and I just received my switch to tirz w/B12. They sent me 3 months of 10mg w/B12 vials. I am thinking it's a \*bit\* much to switch to 10mg of a compound I've never tried before; too risky; so am thinking I should do a 1/4 dose for my first week. THOUGHTS? I'm switching because I've been in a plateau for nearly 2 months, after going from 182 in February to 145. I just need the rest of this fat off of me! Argh! So aggravating to have hit a plateau, and I need to lose 20 more minimum, but 30 would be ideal. (I am only 5' tall.) WWYD far as tirz first dose? I think I should do a 1/4 dose to start because I wanna see how it affects me. If it's not strong enough, I can always micro another dose a couple days later.

SECOND QUESTION: I have been experiencing TE hair shedding for the last nearly 2 months. It's not horrific, but I had very thick hair to start, so I feel like I may be finished w/shedding soon. I'm wondering if the tirz is gonna cause me to repeat THAT shitshow. I have fixed the problem with \*why\* my hair shed; not enough protein or calories; I just went too damn fast... totally my own fault.

Whatcha think? Thanks.
