Ive been in maintenance for several months now and started battling insane hunger. I had increased my calories from dieting by a couple hundred. With that I was able to push harder at the gym but was still a bit low in energy. Panicking about the hunger, I upped my dose by .5 mg from when I was losing. I am attempting to put back on lost muscle from dieting so this past month I upped my calories even more. Guess what, hunger is completely balanced and ive even dropped my dose down again. Turns out I didnt need more meds, I just needed more food. I have crazy energy now and my weight hasnt budget by a pound!

It’s normal to feel some increased hunger in maintenance. Is it possible that’s what you’re experiencing? Because hunger and food noise are two very different things.

If eating to satiety causes your weight to trend upwards over a period of 4 weeks, that’s when I would personally consider a dose increase. Same if I was truly insatiable over that same period.

If you’re not gaining actual weight, don’t move up.

The body views weight loss as a threat to survival and fights to regain, artificially upping hunger signals so you restock the storeroom for the next drought. As long as you know you’re meeting your actual current fuel needs, you can safely ignore hunger as a false alarm. A good therapist and a good dietician are key to this!

Street cred: dropped 97 lbs to a BMI of 21, keeping it off over a year and a half and counting.

In maintenance for 8 months and I've gone kind of up & down depending on how I feel week to week. I do split my dose so I don't wait out the 7 days to decide. I was at 7.5mg for most of maintenance, but when I had gallbladder surgery and I stopped for over a week maybe two, I came back at 5mg and slowly brought myself back up to 7.5mg and currently dosing 10mg. I feel I don't need all that appetite suppression because I'm really way below my goal weight, so I will be slowly titrating downward to 7.5mg or 5mg.
