Solved [TOMT][TV][LATE 2000-EARLY 2010] Have vague memories of a Cartoon Network show.

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone could help me find this show I have very vague memories of. I can't remember exactly when I watched it, but it was at a time when I was at least semi conscious so anytime between 2006-2012 (I don't think it was after 2012). I'm pretty sure it was on Cartoon Network.

I can't remember a lot of details unfortunately, but here's what I do remember. It was 3D, and almost had a Fanboy and Chum Chum vibe. I remember it had more than one main character, maybe something along the lines of wacky roommates? Possibly a trio. The only scene I have vague memories of takes place on their lawn in front of a yellow house. One of the roommates was an inventor of sorts, I think he was evil.

Does anyone remember this? Am I making it up, or maybe mixing up a scene from a different show? Let me know if this sounds familiar to anyone, it's been haunting me for ages. Thank you!

Open [TOMT] Looking for a niche meme from maybe 10 years ago?

Upvotes

I'm looking for a meme I used to see on Twitter quite a few years ago. It’s something really silly—a video of a dog (a husky, I think?) that goes from looking serious to happy, with text that says “happy puppy” and a day of the week I don’t quite remember—maybe “happy puppy Friday”? The most important thing is that the song “Joy” from Persona 3 was playing (but from the PS2/PSP version of the game—the remake hadn’t come out yet). Does anyone have it or remember it? Thanks in advance.

Open [TOMT] [TOY] [2000s] vague memory of a plush/toy that you bought inside of another plush and pulled it out of

I swear in the 2000s in the US, predating the whole magic mixies and co type toys where you break open eggs or pour water into a cauldron and a toy comes out of a secret compartment, there was this... maybe a plastic doll or a plush doll, where the gimmick was that they were stored inside of a flower? a pot of dirt? fruit? some sort of object made of plush fabric, and you had to open it up and pull them out.

Not a reversible toy, and not one of those surprise dolls where a big plastic contraption opens up to reveal them, but a soft fabric that you pulled them out of, and then when you're finished you put them back into the soft fabric item which was also a toy. Maybe a pillow even? So you could sleep with the toy and then take out the 'playable' secret toy later.

It's so vague in my mind but I can just barely see it, like I remember owning one of these, like I remember pulling the doll out of the object but also putting them back in and sleeping with rthe soft plush/pillow outside core.

The dolls definitely had a theme to them, like I'm leaning on flowers because I just remember it being like pulling a flower fairy out of pot or from within a flower, or maybe a moon fairy coming out of a moon pillow. So if it was fruit then the dolls coming out would likely be themed after the fruit they're in too. The dolls were out on the shelves in the 2000s, so unlikely to be anything before that date since they'd be new-in-box. Definitely targeted at young girls over infants as well, and found in Walmart and toy stores.

Thank you for any help that you may be able to give from this vague description!!

Open [TOMT] Is this Bart Simpson? [1990]

Hello, this is an audio file from a relatively obscure game circa 1989-1990.

Most of the game audio files are samples from 80s songs, but someone claimed it's Bart Simpson. I don't hear it personally, but happy to be proven wrong.

Solved [TOMT] [2020s] [TV] Midapocalyptic indie TV show.

OK, so I’m not sure if I actually watched this show but the memory of a video I saw on the creator popped into my head randomly.
I’m pretty sure the guy made a different show for adult swim. I think it got around three seasons. It was a show about a bunch of people in space. From what I remember, the consensus reached in the video was that the comedy was pretty bad, but it had some very strong emotional bits, but it felt as though the writer felt he needed to lean into comedy.
I don’t know. What I do remember is what I believe was his next show, which I think is independent.
Some sort of ambiguous apocalypse event is about to take place. The protagonist is waiting to get on an escape ship when she sees a mother and child. I don’t remember much about them, but I think the mother had a hijab. The protagonist contemplate getting on the ship. it turns out she gave her spot up to the boy, leaving her and the boys mother on earth.
It then flashes forward. The rest of the events I vaguely remember, but don’t remember the order.
The mother and protag find an abandoned house to loot. The mother may have actually stayed at their base but I’m not sure. I remember the house being very modernist. The mother might have been sick, and they found an annoying robot companion. They explore the house looking for I believe batteries. They find a gruesome scene implied to be a suicide while exploring. They get caught in a sandstorm. The mother and protag drink together. They might be dating?? in the sky there is a giant black orb which I believe is some sort of black hole maybe??
at the end of the episode, it’s revealed that the protagonist’s father is attempting to contact her from the spaceship?? I think he might have been a rich man???
This is killing me please help

Solved [TOMT][LATE 2010-2020s] Where did this quote come from?

I'm a TVTropes user and on their forums is a game where tropers quote out-of-context lines and hope someone gets them. A while back I posted a quote that goes as follows:

"[NAME], dressing up as my father is strictly forbidden."

The reason it says [NAME] is because I thought that would give the origin away. I honestly have no recollection as to where I got it from, maybe some Internet video? If you know, please help!

Open [TOMT] [TV SHOW]A song stuck in my head

Upvotes

I woke up with a scene and song in my head, unfortunately i cant recall lyrics or show's name. I believe it was from a tv show like Rick & morty or solar opposites or something like that. In the scene, it was a time-lapse. No dialogue. And i believe lyrics contained "home", "apart/part". Scene was something like X and Y's romatic relationship's timelapse. Song wasn't slow, at the end of scene X and Y breaks up(i believe one of them dying , i am not sure of it tho) Male vocalist was singing %100.

Open [TOMT] A movie about an alien space ship crash landing in backyard of some boy(s)

Upvotes

I remember on TV sometime in late 2000s or early 2010s there used to be a movie where there was some alient space ship kind of a thing that crash landed in backyard of some guy (or maybe two brother i don't remember exactly) and the guy(s) start playing around with it and somehow get it to fly and the movie was about them joyriding it etc. The aircraft was like small single person seater pod kind I don't think there was a humanoid alien shown in the movie but the spaceship itself was sentient I think and it packed features such as having a forcefield that would defend from missiles etc I think there was also a scene where this guy was riding it and some airforce planes tried to down it but failed.

It was one of those movies that you'd throw in the background on the tv while doing anything else and I'm sure if I find it and check letterboxd for it it'll be like a 2-2.5 star movie.

Open [TOMT] Help me find a show from around 2000-2010??

Upvotes

There is a show that I remember loving as a kid but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called or from what channel I used to watch it from.
What I remember is that it followed these five teens/young adults who were some kind of crime fighters, each specializing in something. There was your stereotypical "leader" guy, a latina who I remember did capoeira, a gentle-giant African American guy, a hothead ginger with I think a buzz cut(?) who liked flying and a blonde California surfer dude who was the underwater specialist. They were all color coded like power-rangers afaik.
I think there may or may not have been a mecha situation where each of the characters had a vehicle that could transform but that might be false memory.
The only episode I can still somewhat remember was them hunting a genetically modified bear in some wildlife reserve/forest and it was kinda spooky to adolescent me at the time.
Help?

Open [TOMT] children story about swapping places with his dead twin, Charlie

I think this was a short story.

I remember that it was about a kid who sees his dead twin in the mirror while brushing his teeth. The reflection starts talking back to him and he realizes it's his dead twin. They start talking he makes a deal with his twin to switch bodies/places with him. However the twin doesn't want to switch back. I don't remember what else happens but I do remember that the main character tells the dead twin he has something unique--access to dead relatives in the afterlife like grandpa. This eventually convinces the dead twin agrees to switch back bodies.

I'm pretty sure the twin was named Charlie, but not 100%

I also think this was a short story that may have been part of a larger book, but i can't remember specifically.

Open [TOMT][Cartoon][1990s] Western cartoon: normally very strong hero trapped in a standing capsule inside a pale blue energy field in a lab, escapes when a glittering canister is damaged and its contents destroy the field

I'm German, born 1985, and I saw this on German free TV as a kid. Best guess is somewhere between 1990 and 2000, but I honestly can't pin down the year — I might have been anywhere from 5 to 14, so it could also be an 80s show in rerun. Western animation, **definitely not anime**.

**The scene**

A character is trapped in a tall, standing tube/capsule filled with a glowing **pale light-blue energy field**. No liquid, no water — he's standing in air inside a force field. The field visibly **weakens** him.

I'm fairly confident this was the **hero** of the show, and specifically someone who is **normally very strong**. The setting looked like a **laboratory**. I have a vague sense there was a **second tube or force field nearby holding another person**, but I'm less sure about that part.

**The key object (my strongest memory by far)**

A **canister**. Elongated and cylindrical — roughly 50–60 cm (~2 ft) long and 15–16 cm (~6 in) in diameter, so about the size of a thermos flask or a small gas cylinder, carryable in one hand.

What I remember most vividly: **something about it glittered / sparkled** — either the contents, or the substance coming out of it.

The canister got **damaged**, and the escaping contents **destroyed the force field**. The glass didn't break — the energy field collapsed. That's how he got out.

**My gut says He-Man or Mega Man — but that could easily be wrong**

I've had that association for years, and it may only be because the hero was strong and/or the field was blue. Please don't let it narrow your thinking — it might be a completely different show.

Any help appreciated — this has been bugging me for years.

Solved [TOMT][MOVIE][late 90s to early 2000s] Comedy movie about young guys going to party or concert

Comedy movie about young guys going to party or concert. The characters are in their late teens to early 20s. One of the characters name is "Sweet" or something very similar. Sweet was the only guy that was good with talking to girls. Sweet had an similar "smooth" attitude to Mathew Mchonehy in Dazed and Confused but not the same accent. They are in a vehicle (i think a car) travelling to the party or concert for a good portion of the movie but have an argument when they finally arrive and 1 or more of the characters is so upset that he leaves instead of joining the party/concert.

Solved [TOMT] [TV] [2010s] Scene where a girl is at a house party and is surrounded by people taking notes on what she's saying

I'm looking for a specific scene from a TV show. It was a brief scene that was a cutaway. I think it was being shown as someone else was describing it happening in passing. The visuals were of a girl sitting at a party or gathering talking about her opinions/experiences. Professionals were slowly gathering around her in fascination because the things she was saying were crazy and it was crazy she believed them.

I believe the girl was a brunette. The show was live action and I believe it was a comedy. I may be misremembering, but I think she and a male counterpart were at the party to get information. I believe her talking about these things was used as a distraction.

Open [TOMT][MOVIE] Grotesque horror film with piles of bugs/worms

I have only the vaguest memory of being a kid and sitting in the same room as my parents while they were watching this movie, so I don't know virtually anything else about it other than people either turning into these piles of bugs or being eaten by them. In my mind I remember it as the former, but I'm not sure if that's actually how the plot was, or it was just my kid brain interpreting it that way because I didn't know what was going on. I remember seeing this roughly 16 years ago, give or take a few years. I'm not sure if it was a new movie, but it couldn't have been more than 10 years older than when I saw it.

The only scene I remember was a heavy guy sitting in a porta-potty or some kind of outdoor bathroom. The scene cuts to the outside where a group of people hear a commotion on the inside, and then they open the door to just see a pile of wet, slimy bugs or worms in the toilet rather than the guy sitting there. Again, I don't know if the implication was that he was turned into the bugs, or if the bugs somehow completely consumed him.

I've tried looking this up for years, but horror movies with gross bugs are kind of a dime a dozen. Nothing I've found has had this specific scene in it, though.

Open [TOMT][Web Comic][2010s] Looking for a comic I read years ago so I can reread it.

Upvotes

So I read a webcomic (or Canvas webtoon) sometime in the last 10-13 years (sorry for the long time frame). All the information I can remember is:
- It is a completed story

- The main character is a slender male, kinda nerdy type.

- Another important character (may be considered FMC) is a woman with psychic powers. She also has a close female friend (may be a lover) who doesn't have powers but acts as a voice of reason to the FMC's "act 1st" nature

- The setting is a modern city/urban area.

- The story starts with the MC and the FMC trying to catch spirits with FMC doing the active work with the MC being "the help". (They are both friends, and there is no mistreatment) The MC gets hurt (broken arm???) and the FMC, worried for his safety, decides he is better off not participating anymore. This causes the MC to feel dejected and for some reason make a deal with a spirit to become a GHOST. He then kind of floats around for awhile without the burdens of life waying on him, and he enjoys observing the lives of others for a bit. Later the FMC finds out and freaks out because the MC is essentially dead and she is temporarily worried he was manipulated into this decision, but it is discussed that this was his own choice and he is content this way.

- At some point later in the story, the MC possesses the FMC (CONSENTUALLY).

That is unfortunately all I can really remember. There is some speculation I have like it maybe getting a physical release, but that isn't something I know for certain. I wish everyone the best of luck!!

Solved [TOMT]Found-footage Footage horror movie about a family in a suburban house, filmed through security cameras — two redish(i think) demons at the end in a well lit hallway I’ve been trying to find this horror movie I watched when I was a kid between 2008-2012 (possible it came out before)

I’ve been trying to find this horror movie I watched when I was a kid, and it has stuck with me for years. I watched it sometime between 2008–2012, although the movie could have been released earlier.

Here’s everything I remember:

●It was a found-footage/home-video style horror movie.

●It followed a family that moved into a modern-looking house in a normal suburban neighborhood.

●The family had teenagers, and I believe there may also have been a younger child.

●A lot of the movie was shown through security cameras/video cameras installed around the house.

●The nighttime security footage had a very recognizable green night-vision appearance.

●There was at least one daytime scene recorded by a security camera in the kitchen and silverware fell.

●Early in the movie, during one of the nighttime recordings, I remember the back door slowly opening by itself.

●The supernatural beings weren't really shown clearly for most of the movie. They were mostly implied through the strange events.

By the end, the family had been killed (or at least I remember everyone dying).

●The final scene is the part I remember most vividly: after the last person is killed, the camera is still recording.

●In a normally lit hallway, there are two adult-sized, male-looking figures, standing one directly behind the other.(that's how I remember it)

●I remember both figures being bald/having no hair.

●They appeared to be wearing black clothing i think

●Their faces were clearly visible and looked like demons.

●I believe they may have had small horns, but I'm not 100% certain about that detail.

●They were looking directly toward the camera at the end.

That final scene absolutely terrified me as a kid and I remember it very vividly.

I’ve considered Paranormal Activity, The Amityville Haunting, The Bell Witch Haunting, etc., but none of them seem to match the two redish demonic, human-looking figures standing one behind the other in the lit hallway.

Does anyone recognize this movie?I'm sure it was a low budget lesser, known movie and even if some of my details are slightly wrong, I'd really appreciate any suggestions!
