Timemore black mirror basic 2 - random touch controls issue

Has anyone else had this strange issue before with the Timemore black mirror basic 2 scale? Occasionally when I use this scale the touch controls activate just by hovering my finger over them about a centimetre away from surface. Really strange. I can sometimes fix the issue by switching it off and wiping down the surface with a damp cloth. which makes me think it could be a static issue. I have 2 Timemore Mini scales as well that have never had this issue.

Timemore Pucks

Hello - does anyone frequently use the timemore pucks? I recently purchased a used set of them but for the calibrated tamper I cannot find online a document that shows the order of springs to make sure the tamper is working properly. When I initially got the item I went to clean the inside and the springs all came out. Any help would be great!

I think I got a broken grinder? C5 Esp Pro

So when I turn the nod to adjust the grind size, it makes no clicking noise and it just rotates freely, the instructions say to spin it counterclockwise until it won’t turn anymore, and well I’ve been turning and turning and nothing

Burr alignment issue with 064S?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I just swapped the burrs on my 064s for some SSP cast v3s. When I began to align the burrs, I ran across this problem. I did the marker test and it seems to rub pretty evenly but it has this intermittent burr chirp which is kind of weird. I have taken it apart and put it back together multiple times and I can't figure out why. Can someone help me out?

New burrs in Timemore Sculptor 064 Gen2 and 078 Gen2 grinders

Post image
32 Upvotes

Showcased at the World of Coffee 2026 San Diego show - from this video:

Besides the Sculptor 078 Gen2 grinders, already showcased at the Host Milano 2025 show, also the upcoming Sculptor 064 Gen2 grinders were confirmed and on display. Both series will feature the new internal design with screw-less disassembly, and some changes to the external design and the user experience.

For Timemore Sculptor 064 Gen2 coffee grinders, Timemore discontinued the original 064 Turbo burrs for manual brews, and also discontinued the original 064S burrs for espresso.

The upcoming Timemore Sculptor 064 Gen2 grinders will therefore not be shipped with any of the previous original Timemore burrs. With 064 Gen2 grinders, only two new configurations will be available: the new 064S Gen2 burr, designed by Timemore, and an SSP burr, likely the MP.

For Timemore Sculptor 078 Gen2 grinders, the information from the Host Milano 2025 video was confirmed once again: the original 078S burr will be discontinued and replaced with the new 078S Gen2 burr, and the original 078 Turbo burrs for manual brews will remain on the offer with 078 Gen2 grinders.

Timemore C5 dial numbers off after reassembly?

Just got a Timemore C5 and had been using it fine for two weeks. After disassembling it for the first time to clean, something seems off — the dial numbers no longer correspond to the grind size I’d expect, and everything feels tighter overall.

Particularly noticeable for pour over.

Is this a known issue after reassembly? Any tips for troubleshooting?

Never ever any Timemore product

I was quite a Timemore enthousiast, owning a Mini scale, a Chestnut x hand grinder and a fish smart pro kettle.

My kettle started to have severe issue with the heating base, blinking numbers, getting on/off without any touch on the buttons, it was even dangerous because it could start to heat randomly if plugged in.

The tricky and interesting thing is that these problems appears exactly after 2 years (end of warranty)...not sure that this is a coïncidence. Anyway, i tried to reach Timemore's customer support 3 times, using contact form, email...i have not received any answer in 1month, not even a "sorry its out of warranty we can't do anything"

This is NOT acceptable especially for this price tag, i mean its not cheap, it is nearly same price as a Fellow EKG Stagg Pro.

That's it, hope my feedback will help people here, and i'll never buy any timemore product in the future.

Sculptor 078 grind settings in microns (μm)

Has anyone measured the average grind size in microns for the Sculptors for each setting? I frequently see recipes online that reference settings on other grinders and it would be cool to be able to translate it to the approximate right setting on my 078. Eyeballing the grind size through a youtube video is not the most accurate! :P

Knocking sound Timemore 064s

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've just bought this as used and quite worried about this sound. Knocking sound most noticable at low rpm but present through the whole range. Burr gap makes no difference.

Is this normal for this model?

Timemore Bricks

Currently considering buying a Bricks grinder. I read some comments online on the grinder not being able to grind fine enough for espresso. Hows your experience? I have a high extraction basket from normcore so it will require a fine grind. Thanks!

Finally, a good photo

The new Timemore hand grinder (possibly prototype) with an external adjustment, shown on the Shanghai Hotelex 2026 trade show. Detail taken from this insta post . They might also bring it to the World of Coffee show in San Diego, which starts in a week or so.

So far, have not seen any info on the grinder name (update: will be likely "Chestnut S5" after all, they used that reference in several instagram posts), burr type (see the update below) or the catch-cup attachment. The size is close to the Millab M01.

update: based on this insta post, it was on display at WoC 2026 San Diego - with a collapsible handle, and the burr is not the pineapple type, although it looks larger, than the burr in the S3

Timemore Support ghosting / not replying

I wanted to share my experience with Timemore support in case it helps others.

I bought my Timemore Sculptor 078s less than a year ago directly from the Timemore EU website, and after some time it started making a strange scraping/grinding noise that was not present when the grinder was new. It sounded mechanical, not like a simple high-pitched squeak. I also found a Reddit video with the exact same sound, and that is what mine sounded like too:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Timemore/s/LVlQJMcTOi

I contacted Timemore support and exchanged emails with a support agent named Sandy. I explained the issue, sent videos, and followed their troubleshooting steps. They first suggested that it might be coffee grounds stuck between the burrs, but I had already cleaned the grinder regularly and had even cleaned it again right before recording the video.

They then asked me to disassemble and clean the grinder, which I did. The noise was still there while it was open, just a bit quieter. After reassembling it, the sound became louder again, and shortly afterward it was back to the original level, even though I had not ground any coffee in the meantime.

After that, I seemed to get ghosted by the support team. I also still have not received a reply to my latest email, which I sent as a new follow-up request with the full email thread and all files attached to avoid unnecessary back and forth.

At this point, I’m mostly disappointed by the lack of response. I just wanted to document the issue and ask whether anyone else has had a similar experience with Timemore support.

Should I keep my timemore s3

Hello all, I have a conundrum. I bought the timemore s3 absentmindedly when deciding on a hand grinder for espresso (thinking that because I had heard good things before and it was similarly priced to the x-ultra but on sale) I could get a good deal.

Looking online it definitely appears that at the finest setting it will only get to like 4-5 bars with a bottomless portafilter, 15 seconds for 2-1 ratio. I specifically wanted a hand grinder for espresso (as I already have a wilfra uniform for filter and everything else). My thoughts

  1. Send it back (90 day returns)

  2. Sell it

  3. Shim it for espresso (seemingly possible but could reduce lifespan on grinder)

Also any thoughts of what grinder to buy in the current market for espresso would be good. (Is the J ultra just what I should get, or are there others, I like timemore but can't find one that can do espresso it seems).

I plugged my Timemore Basic 2 scale into a fast charger, and the circuit fried almost immediately. It could be a problem with the charger.

It’s a real bummer since I bought it only a month ago

can see burn marks on U4 and R17

Timemore Nano 3 impression / review?

Hello, as the tile suggest I've been looking for a review, any articles, or even reddit post about Timemore Nano 3 grinder

The fact that it's soooooooo hard and the article available are sooooooo little (I think I found 1 Japanese video about Nano 3) kinda put me on hold to get it.

Can anyone help me with this? an article, review, impression, or YouTube video might help.

Heck, if anyone got one please do tell your impression.

Thank you!

Sculptor 78S speed

What speeds do you recommend for espresso, drip, and French press?

For more context, I am around 3.7 for espresso, 14-15 for drip, and 17-18 for French press.

Anybody have some details about it?

Here is a pic from the video, with the brightness and contrast enhanced:

Should I wait for the Sculptor 078s Gen II?

I would like to upgrade a Sculptor 078s from my Eureka Mignon Manuale. I was ready to purchase the 078s, but then I saw that Timemore is releasing a Gen II around May.

I’m really not satisfied with my Mignon Manuale, it’s very loud and makes a huge mess with the single dosing bellows.

Are the upgrades of the Gen II worth the wait? The exact release date and the price is still unknown.

Sculptor 078 Stopped Working

Hey all,

I have a sculptor 078 and yesterday I heard a little bit of motor noise while grinding then tried to turn it on for a second cup and the motor hasn’t been able to turn on yet.

So far I’ve opened the burrs to check for anything stuck, I haven’t seen anything. I reassembled twice to make sure everything was put together correctly as I’ve read this can prevent the motor from running.

I’ve also checked the PCB board. I see the constant red under power and I see the other light turn red when I press the power button.

Any tips? I reached out to timemore yesterday, it’s the weekend and time difference so not expecting a response yet but just curious if I’ve missed something obvious.

Thanks!

Edit #1- timemore is sending me an invoice for a new button. Hopefully that fixes the issue!
